- Very Good
very nice and clean well equiped. We loved Taylor Lake fishing was good. We also did a rafting trip witch we enjoyed.
“Great place to unwind!”
Great place to stay! Clean, comfortable cabin. Staff is amazing. Good food. Nice outdoor area. Close to the river.
“A Cozy Cabin”
We stayed in Cabin #9 for three nights. It was clean, functionally furnished--even had well-chosen cooking utensils in good repair. The mattress was comfortable, and the cabin was well-situated for comfortable air flow from open windows (no air conditioning, none needed). The tiny front porch was a plus, for cool air as well as for privacy. With the cabins as close together as they are, I feared we'd have noisy nights. But mostly we didn't. We'd gladly stay here again.
“Awsome as always”
Few things in life are constant, but the Three Rivers is always awesome. I have been heading to almont the same weekend every year for six years now and have always stayed at the Three Rivers. The cabins are always clean, warm, and comfortable. Nothing fancy here, but it is perfect for fishing trip needs. I am already looking forward to next year.
“Perfect fishing cabin”
Location is wonderful for fly fishing. The resort is on the Taylor River and one can fish there as well as close-by Gunnison and East. The cabin was clean, kitchen well-stocked, shower hot, bed comfortable. Cabin is old, and electrical outlets are minimal...hanging bulbs, and we did a lot of shifting of plugs to get appliances near bed working. The restaurant has limited menu but the food (hamburgers, barbeque) was very good. The staff in the fly shop and in the resort itself are excellent and helpful. (An item that was left by mistake was mailed to us quickly after they found it). The fly shop set us up with a fabulous guide, Eric Grand...very knowledgeable about the area, rivers, fishing and hunting. We would request him again if we go back. There is nothing fancy here... it's RV friendly, close to Gunnison and Crested Butte (great restaurants there!) and we were satisfied.
“Fantastic location - clean, quiet, and well equipped”
Couldn't ask for a better location - right between Gunnison and the mountain...scenary is spectacular and the staff always has a smile and very helpful. Great coffee at the restaurant, too! The cabin had absolutely everything you could need and I was impressed with how clean it was. The setting was so peaceful and I was amazed at how quiet it was there at night for sleeping.
“Family getaway from 105 degrees and constant traffic jams (Arlin”
After driving 16 hours straight thru, we finally arrived around 5:00 pm. After looking at the mountains in awe for the last hour or so of the trip, we were all re-energized when we got to 3 Rivers. The nice cool temperature (75 or so), the beauty of the Rockies, it was great. The cabin looked really small from the outside, but once we opened the door, we let out a sigh of relief. It was plenty big enough.(It was Me, my wife, our 11 yr. old son, and her 20 yr old son, and our Boston Terrier--Pepper)The view was incredible, The Gunnison River ran right along the edge of the property, and Gunnison, the town, was only a 7 or 8 minute drive, with a small WalMart and a "City Market" being the first stores you come to, which made it easy and convenient to stock up the cabin with some basic food stuffs. Dining out in and around Three Rivers wasn't on the cheap side at all. We splurged a breakfast one day, and a dinner one day, but the rest of the time we cooked out on the grills that are right outside of the back porch at each cabin. The only complaint I would have would be this: The resort has wi-fi(free),but the range is limited.Unless you were standing up against the wall at the main office, you couldn't get any reception. I brought my tablet simply so we could look up things to do in the area, read reviews, etc. They were actually working on it the day we left, so maybe you can now sit in your cabin and be able to get online. The slower pace of life--the beauty, being able to look outside and not see an ocean of concrete, w/ the "heat wiggles" rising off of it was what our family needed. I definitely recommend 3 rivers, the staff was great as well. Just save a little extra cash before you go, b/c all of the little things you invariably end up getting on vacation aren't cheap in that part of the world.
Response from the manager I'm glad you had a great vacation and thank you for the feedback. I see that you must have visited us before the installation of our wifi system. We now have a resort wide system that reaches to the cabins. The only issue we have now is that our DSL speed in Almont is extremely slow. We have no control over that. So, with everyone accessing it from their cabins now it may be even slower. We have put a time limit of 60 minutes on the access in hopes that it will help everyone be able to use it. Thanks, Jen Stevens, Resort Manager
We enjoyed our stay. The accomdations were very nice and roomy.
Response from the manager I'm not sure why the low rating was given here but I would definitely welcome any feedback! -Jen Stevens, Resort Manager
“Great little place”
A buddy and I stayed in "mosquito" for 2 nights on a fishing trip around almont. It was a perfect place for that. Home base for fishing. We will be back.
