My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and all I can say is warning...read the sign when entering the resort that states "caution you may not want to leave" because that is exactly what happened to us, the stay was not long enough, we plan on returning shortly but for a much longer stay. Everything was great, I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a vacation spot, whether it be a family vacation, honeymoon, anniversary, or just a plain out relaxation get away, what ever the occasion may be you will not be disappointed.
We'd driven 8 hours to arrive at 2:50 & I called the office and was told that the cabin had not yet been cleaned because the prior renters were a large reunion group and had left late. The rental info did say that occasionally a cabin isn't ready right at 3, but no one had even called to warn us! I would think that by 2:00 someone could have called so that we could have gone straight to a restaurant or something rather than taking your suggested round-about route (to avoid going thru Pigeon Forge traffic) and arriving at an unavailable cabin at check-in time. We left, drove around for a bit, then came back. I thought that someone was going to call to tell us the cabin was ready, but we had to call there at 4:30 to confirm that the cabin had been cleaned & was available. Then the lights/outlets in 2 of the bedrooms didn't work. We had to call for a maintenance person to come out. It was just a tripped breaker, but it seems like that would have been noticeable to the cleaning people and already reported to the office. The basement stunk like beer as though a substantial amount had been spilled recently. The washing machine had a ring of black "gunk" where the top of the water line. The DVD player in one of the bedrooms would play a DVD but no sound. The middle front row chair in the theatre room was broken (you could sit in it, but if you reclined it went back & sideways), & the pillowcases on one of the beds were regular size on king sized pillows. I thought I'd trade those pillows for the ones in the decorative shams but those had no pillowcases at all so I just slept on part of the pillows. We did not call the office for these things (except to report the broken theatre room chair) but decided we'd just deal with them since we had already called several times on our first day. It was disappointing, because we had stayed w/another company 5 times, but found their customer service to be "lacking." We'd hoped that Elk Springs would be different.
Some of the pillows in the cabin were not clean. We went out and bought new ones. The cabin could have been cleaned better. They should make sure everything is functional before other guest arrive. Also that the cabin has all the utensils to cook with. The check in process was easy. The directions would be better if you added the light numbers from the street you turn on.
“Lazy Lazy Daze!!!”
Lazy Daze was just what we have always wanted when coming to the Smokies. It is easy to get to and not a long long way away from town. It was just wonderful. We look forward to coming again soon!!
Killed one mouse. Backyard grass could be mowed so you would have a backyard. Overall, the house was great.
Awesome cabin! My kids loved the media room.
“Awesome as always!!”
The reason we always stay with Elk Springs is because we know it will be clean and will be top of the line! Never disappointed! Kept having to reboot wifi and gravel drive was slippery cause of rain, but other than those VERY minor things, it was GREAT!!
Our group is dissatisfied due to these issues: Ants in the bathrooms: one of the upstair masters, and the lowest level. Left a message for Maintenance and they sent Exterminator -- however no one cleaned up the dead ants or the chemical residue. The cabin needs a thorough detailing. It is dirty behind doors, door ledges are dirty, stickers left on bathroom cabinet. Two of the TVs required reprogramming to get them to work. The upstair Masters do not have threshold covering carpet between bedroom and bathroom -- nails can be felt. I find it unprofessional that no one answers the phone, and that Tenants are required to leave a message and wait for a return call. After several attempts to contact the Manager, I still have not spoken directly to a Manager about these issues.
“We would stay again.”
The Laze Daze Lodge was a good location for our family get together. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The property is located in what I would call a vacation rental subdivision. The homes are well spaced and well maintained. However, if you are looking for a secluded place, this is not it.
“BEST CABINS IN THE SMOKEYS”
Well to start with this has become the only place I will stay at when I go to Gatlinburg Tenn. They are the best at everything and the cleanest cabins I've ever stayed in. This was my 2nd time staying at Elk Springs Resort and I LOVED IT! I Highly recommend anyone to stay there. It's the best for the money. Thanks, and God Bless!! Chad Cole.
