“Mountain Hideaway was great”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2013

We stayed at Mountain Hideaway for 5 nights and enjoyed it a lot. It is a luxury cabin for sure with all of it's amenities. Overall it was very clean but the top of the fridge could use some dusting. The champagne glasses were not cleaned after use and I would suggest a different detergent for the washer. The towels smelled kind of bad when they got wet. The pots and pans are ok for use but not to cook a large breakfast or dinner. Some of the cook ware, the fring pan in particular, should be replaced. I wanted to take the couch home with me and the bed is one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The bathroom is fantastic although it takes some patience to figure out how to work the settings in the shower properly. The TV and surround system were great after I changed the sound settings to match the room. Another suggestion I have would be to cut back the trees in front of the property a bit so it alows for more of that gorgious view which is somewhat constricted at the moment. The drive to Gatlinburg from the cabin was about 20 minutes which was fine for us. We only visited Pigeon Forge once which was quite a long drive if we didn't stop in Gatlinburg for some pancakes first. All in all we had a great time with some very minor complaints which really did not do anything to hamper the enjoyment of our stay. We were able to forget about our day to day responsibilities for 5 nights and arrived home relaxed from our trip and satisfied with our decision to stay at Mountain Hideaway.

Very nice cabin and furnishings. Very clean. I will be comparing future places to this cabin.

“Honeymoon”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2013

It was exactly what we wanted. It was a nice, quiet, cozy place to spend our honeymoon. It was close enough to town, but far enough away to relax. We loved the hot tub, and my wife loved the shower. The mood lighting was cool in every room. The bed was huge and comfortable. The only complaint was we couldn't stay longer. We were both upset to have to go back to 'reality.' We will definitely book with you again!

“Mountain Hideaway - Fantastic Rental”

Reviewed 26 Jun 2013

My wife and I recently stayed in Mountain Hideaway for our first anniversary trip. We couldn't have asked for a better cabin. The place was spotless when we got there. It was easy to find (a little further out of town than most) and very comfortable with a great view. We will stay with Elk Springs Resort on all future vacations to Gatlinburg.

“No Title, Just a Review”

Reviewed 15 May 2013

FIrst, the full bath in this cabin is the best I have ever seen. It was perfectly laid out. The bed was extremely comfortable. But if you had to do laundry or use the closet, you would have to slide by the bed to get to both. Once you opened the doors to the closet, you have to be careful not to take out the nightstand and don't forget to turn on the light! Its on the outside of the closet, at furthest point on the wall, so its a bit tricky to reach. The stairways were very spacious. The living room was nice but lacked comfort. It has a leather couch and a small coffee table and a chair made out of twigs? Of course the TV was great. The half bath conveniently located nearby. The kitchen was well cleaned, spotless really. Lots of empty shelves, limited kitchen textiles. And the smallest pub table ever. An with every Smoky Mountain cabin, you get the infamous pool table. We never used it. The balcony was nice of course. The really nice perk this time was the alarm system. This cabin has one which made us feel more secure. Don't even think about logging onto the internet, you barely get a signal. If you want complete seclusion, this is the place for you. You only have to drive way out of the way to get there. This is our second stay with Elk Springs and the first cabin we stayed at was wonderful! This cabin resembled a Linkin Logs home thrown together with never ending bear paintings. The only 2 signs that make this cabin feel personable are the wall hangings with scripture on them. In conclusion, I probably wouldn't suggest this cabin to family or friends do to the limited comforts of home. It is well maintained overall. We will definitely be back, we'll just book another cabin with Elk Springs.
