“Squeaky Floors Too Much To Take”
We enjoyed the view of the cabin. The construction of the cabin was poor. We have never heard floors squeak the way "Almost Heaven" floors squeaked. It was awful. My husband and I were on the main floor, our daughter and her husband on the top and our son and his family in the basement. Whenever anyone on the top floor got out of their bed, it would wake us on the main floor and if we on the second floor got up, we would wake the family below. No matter how we tiptoed, it was unavoidable. I hope the Company that built that cabin, did not build the others. I enjoyed the process of renting the cabin, but as far as the cabin, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, unless they would all stay on the same floor. The kitchen didn't even have pot holders and knives should be tossed and new ones purchased. We enjoyed the time as a family, but the squeaky floors made for sleepless nights. Thank you
“Great Smokey Vacation!!!”
We just returned from a week family vacation! It was amazing. We ventured into this with 2 families. Ours has 4 children and the other had 5. "Almost Heaven" was perfect for these dynamics. It was large enough for everyone to have great accommodations. The bottom floor was fantastic for the kids. The games and space kept them entertained while we were at the cabin. Most importantly it gave the adults some decompression time from all of the daytime mountain activities. The following are not complaints but recommendations to enhance what was already a great experience. 1) The Master Bath with heart tub is located directly below where we had all the kids. With the bare floor above you can hear EVERYTHING. Even whispers can be heard. I would strongly recommend carpeting with thick padding as we felt like we drew the short stick staying in that room. The Sauna did not hit any heat level that made it worth using that was a disappointment. Being a high end cabin it would be nice for the movie room to have more modern equipment. We couldn't understand why there were no Blue Ray players (Which is what we brought) or any modern connections to use Apple TV PC or other devices. We had a few minor issues when we arrived with a shortage of linens but the staff was great and ran it right over to us! One note to folks that are used to VRBO's. This is corporate which means a great service delivered. But there is not that personal touch of a private rental meaning: don't expect literature of the area or the Pantry stocked with leftover items of previous vacationers or games, toys etc.. for the kiddo's Thanks for a great location to make camp while we fully enjoyed the great Gatlinburg area!
“A Taste of Heaven”
Our stay at Almost Heaven was great. The view was breathtaking. The experience was peaceful. We would definitely visit again!
“Sit Back and Relax”
Love, love, loved our stay at Elk Springs! We felt like we were in a cabin but with all the comforts of home! And we loved having a pool table and air hockey right there as well as the home theatre. Awesome!!!
“Family Vacation 2013”
The 10 of us had an AMAZING time last week!!! The cabin was perfect in every way. The only thing that we found was there really was not enough towels and wash cloths for 10 people on a daily basis, and the ironing board is broken...but that would not stop us from coming back to Almost Heaven...and with the beautiful mountain views the name is so fitting!!!
“A Stay to Remember”
My family had a beautiful time at Almost Heaven. The cabin not only lived up to its name, it also exceeded our expectations. The staff was extremely responsive to our requests. For example, I called with a question about the theater room projector and asked for a return phone call. Instead of just retuning my call, the facilities guy showed up within minutes. He answered all of our questions and made sure everything was up and running for our movie night. Finally, we are forever grateful to the staff for finding and returning my Grandfather's retirement ring!
The house is not completely as described and is not nearly as big as it looks in the pictures. For the cost it was not worth the money. It was the most ill-equipped house we've ever stayed in. Towels were few and flimsy, gas grill was disgustingly filthy. Rocking chairs..says 8, we had 5. Not master suites, only one was a true master suite, the others were king beds with a bathroom next to them. That is not the definition of a suite. Pictures are outdated, funny that the one you sent in the email for the survey is one of them. No movie theater seating, but two couches. The noise was beyond belief. We could hear every movement of the two girls in the bedroom above us. Every time they went to the bathroom, even opening a dresser drawer. I honestly thought someone was in our room in the middle of the night, but it was the sound from the bedroom above us. I would never recommend this home to anyone. Especially for over $400 per evening. It was clean (other than the grill), that was a plus, but I would imagine you can get a clean house for $100 per night.
“Our Recent Stay”
Great Property - Wonderful trip, we had a great time! Only issue we had was with the heat where the upstairs was always very hot and the basement was extremely cold. Also, we had to go buy spray because of issues with wasp in the upstairs area. Even with those issues, management was attentive and they did send someone out to look at the heat pretty quick. With all that being said, I would book again. :-)
“It was heaven!”
We had a wonderful family time. A trip we all will remember!!
“Great weekend getaway”
This was my first time to Gatlinburg and I had an awesome time! The cabin was beautiful and spacious. I wish we could've stayed longer!!
