“Needs extra attention”

Reviewed 2 Oct 2014

I had to clean the kitchen and the bathroom to bring it up to my standards and there were black dust bunnies under the bed - but the location and view are spot on. It could use new kitchen appliances.

Response from the manager Mahalo for your review. We would have been more than happy to send in housekeeper had we known during your stay. The kitchen has been remodeled by a custom on island cabinet maker a few years ago and in a tropical motif with custom cabinets and bamboo accents; which may not suit everyone but works well in the tropics. The location on the oceanfront is a definite bonus as you can hear and see the ocean from your ground floor lanai. Mahalo nui!

“Great centrally located island location!”

Reviewed 30 Apr 2014

This was my 14th trip to Kauai and I have always stayed in Kappa for its central location on the island. First time staying at Kapaa Shore, but was familiar with its location and the units. Was pleased with unit 106 although we did not spend much time there. Impressed at how much "stuff" was in the unit. Was obvious that previous renters would leave behind items for the newbies use. Sunscreen, rubbing alcohol, hairspray, laundry detergent, spices, cooking spray, salt and pepper and so on. We contributed to the welcomed stash when we departed. Big plus having Safeway and Longs across the street and an easy walk. Make sure you look around unit before you head to store as what you need may already be there. Lovely ocean view, but lots of rocky coral right in front would not work for kids playing in ocean. In fact we really did not see many children around, more mid to older folks - very quiet!!! Facilities, parking, pool, laundry were all good. We had no issues and no complaints. I believe units are individually owned, so updating and furnishings vary. I noticed some units were much more eye appealing than others. Kauai is a treasure! Love this island and was so thrilled to share it with Todd who had never been to any of the islands. We will be back, soon! Thank you for sharing your condo with us - we take away many fond memories.

“Wonderful view, relaxed atmosphere, well kept grounds”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2014

Best: Sue and her team. Very helpful and cares about your visit. The grounds are kept up extremely well. View from this condo was the best on the property. Good bed. Improvements: Could be a lot cleaner. I have stayed at Kapaa Shores several times and was surprise that this condo was not up to the same standard. Light fixture in Kitchen was very dirty. Dusty. The bedroom windows were rusty and dirty, but did work OK. Some problems with electrical. One switch popped the lights. The lamps were corroded and old. Overall: We would stay there again for the same price.

“our view was amazing!”

We had a fabulous stay. Thanksgiving, visiting family. Loved the new pool and deck. #106 was perfect for us. Mahalo for the aloha.

“Wonderful Condo”

Reviewed 6 Dec 2013

The picture of the view does not do the unit justice. You have to be sitting on the lanai to appreciate the beauty of a Hawaiian sunrise. We had an absolutely wonderful stay while we were there. This condo has recently been redecorated and is colorful, comfortable, and cozy. We were on Kauai for a family wedding and one of our granddaughters had to get all of the cousins to our condo to check it out because of the decor. She especially liked the bamboo lattice work on the cupboards and bar. We would certainly stay there again. All told we had a wonderful trip and would recommend that you stay in this unit if it is available.

“A very nice place!”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2013

We really enjoyed our stay at Kapa'a Shores #106. The place was completely furnished and there were more kitchen utensiles than we would ever use on vacation. Everything we needed while we were there was there. The unit was clean and well kempt. The linens were fresh and there were plenty of towels, including beach towels. The resort is also nicely maintained and manicured. The only thing we missed was air conditioning, which does not exist in the complex. We're from arizona and used to a "dry heat" and the humidity was unbearable at times as there was no place to escape to. Although we were afraid we would not be able to sleep, the bedroom was cool and comfortable at night and it really wasn't a problem. If you go, be sure to check the laundry rooms for shared beach equipment. We borrowed a beach chair and umbrealla and donated a beach chair when we left. It is a great value and we would not hesitate to stay there again... and again... and again!

“Complete relaxation.”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2013

All dealings with the managers, Greg and Sue, were first class, honest, very friendly, and very informative. 106 had everything that we needed, very clean, great location as shopping and restaurants were just across the street, and extremely quiet and safe. Anyone concerned about no air conditioning need not be, as the cool breeze off the ocean kept the unit very comfortable especially for sleeping. For ocean front or view units the rates are very reasonable from all of Garden Isle Properties locations.

“Another fantastic Kauai vacation - Life is good!”

Reviewed 3 Oct 2012

Once again, Greg and Sue (Garden Island Properties) provided us with great service and a fantastic condo. The condo was recently remodeled with all new furniture and tile floors - very nicely done. The ground floor location and the close access to the pool and beach is what a Kauai vacation is all about. Kapaa Shores is very close to stores, restaurants and the bike/walking/running path which we used every morning. Speaking of mornings, the sunrises are really "Sun-Sational". Make sure you see every one - it's a great way to start your day! We have already planned our next Holiday in Unit #106 at the Kapaa Shores.
