“Sunny deck sells the place”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2013

Very clean, great deck, terrific location. Second time we have stayed there. Only complaint this time was kitchen not well stocked -- no kitchen knives, mixing spoons, etc. and one reason we rent a house is to cook.

“Stay. At brynmarie”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2013

The. Home was conveniently located to town an beach. The. Railing around the deck uprights were so Far apart to present a safety hazard for dogs and toddlers. The washer was full of wet sheets we discovered when we were stripping the beds as told to do which is strange since we paid a hefty cleaning fee. The screen on the bedroom was missing and had been for a while according to other reviews.

“Not the best.”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2013

While we appreciate having a few days on the Oregon coast . . . (1) we called agency the first day - 16th - with the issue of not having a screen in the rear bedroom window and no working flashlight. There was no return call. (2) Our garbage can was overfull when we arrived and we could smell the garbage thru the kitchen window. (3) There was a broken piece of glass in the kitchen cupboard. (4) The beds were way mushy - I guess fairly typical, but still?? (5) upon leaving one day as we went to put the key in the key compartment the key slipped out of hand and believe it or not fell through the floor boards - despite the doormat - and we had to crawl for it. Soo - not all of them are your problems but most of them.

“Great View - Nice Beach Access”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2013

We really enjoyed our stay. The weather was exceptional on two days and acceptable on 3 days. The unit was clean and nicely furnished. The previous renters or the neighbors had not cleaned up well after their pets. We cleaned it up the first night and had no further issues. It was lovely being able to play with our dog on the beach without disturbing others. There were many dogs and all seemed friendly. I highly recommend this unit if you want to take you pet on vacation.

“Can't Beat the Location but Updates are Necessary”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2013

The location of this rental house is unbeatable for the price! (although I didn't shop around much and our friends stayed in a very nicely updated 2 bdrm house on the beach side for about the same nightly rate) Our favorite part of the whole trip was sitting on the front deck, admiring the ocean while also being able to watch our older kids play in the sand. The rental property could have been 5 stars if only the carpets in the bedrooms (or whatever is causing that old, musty smell) were replaced and the kitchen had more of the necessities such as a sweeper/dust pan, working can opener, non-rusty knives, scissors. Worse than that, I was greeted upon arrival with a wet load of laundry in the washer and a load of washed dishes in the dishwasher. Putting someone else's dishes away and drying a load of bedding is not my way of starting a relaxing week's vacation, but I'm assuming that is the responsibility and short falling of the management company as opposed to the owner. We also had to put duvet covers on the comforters as we found them on the beds, uncovered. A great part of this vacation home is the stockpile of games, puzzles and National Geographic issues. The fact that we didn't have wi-fi access actually turned into a positive as it forced our family to gather around the table and play games or complete puzzles together. Our kids found the National Geographic magazines (some dating back to the 1960's) VERY entertaining and informative. I think next year, we will look around for a similar deal and similar location, but for a more fresh, updated, stocked home. Hopefully, the housekeeping issues will not be experienced again. It really took away from the satisfaction of our stay.

“Ladies' overflow sleeping annex”

Reviewed 14 May 2013

We used the unit as a sleeping annex (most of us were in the Manzanita Magic upper and lower units). So convenient!

“Great location”

Reviewed 31 Mar 2013

Great location, short walk to town and just across the street from the beach. Would definitely stay in this home again.

“Details need attention”

Reviewed 28 Mar 2013

Four lights that we needed wouldn't turn on when we arrived. One of these was the porch light. Three lamps were not plugged in. Some were missing bulbs or had dead bulbs. The porch light wasn't working. I checked it and screwed in one bulb. The other bulb was dead. These are details that just don't seem that hard to conquer, and it was an annoying inconvenience to crawl around to plug in stuff and cannibalize bulbs from less used fixtures/rooms. This isn't professional--it's cheap. Other than this, things were fine.

“At the Beach”

Reviewed 6 Feb 2013

This house is ideally located one block off of the beach with a trail access right across the street. The home has a large open gathering area with plenty of seating. The condition of the interior is fair. The stove needs some work but does work. The floor is starting to come up in the dining area. The bedroom sheets had a bit of a cigarette smell in the master bedroom. The deck has a nice view of the ocean and Neah-kanie Mountain. With some upgrades on the interior and exterior this would be a five star property.

“Good value, good location”

Reviewed 1 Jan 2013

BrynMarie is the perfect distance between downtown Manzanita and the pretty little golf course. The ocean view is great for not being ocean front, and to have that view for that price is really appreciated. The house is older, and will need some updating on the outside stairs and entryway soon, but the home was very clean and had lots of seating. The beds were comfortable (surprising for a popular rental). The headboards and quilts hanging on the walls were a little odd, and the insulation in the home was light; you could hear every word anyone said no matter where they were in the home. This home is best for a family of four or five, takes dogs, and is affordable. A good, modest beach house.
