“Good Location but in Desperate Need of Renovation”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2014

The location was GREAT, oceanfront unit but the unit itself is in desperate need of a renovation, moist damp carpet throughout felt gross on our feet, old, old windows that are cracking and peeling, only one fan, we had to move from bedroom to living room each day (no air conditioning). You can tell that they haven't put much $$ into the condo in awhile. It needs to have a bigger flat screen tv (only a small screen) put sliding glass door the whole width of the condo, like other units have done, open up the kitchen to get the full view of oceanfront, again like other condos have done in the D & E units of the Kona Isle and get rid of that nasty carpet! We would definitely NOT stay in this condo again nor recommend it to anyone until renovations have been done. Also there were too many added charges & fees with this company, damage waiver fee,$39, reservation fee $25, and departure cleaning fee $130 for our week stay.

“Back to Kona”

Reviewed 11 May 2013

The ground floor unit was an easy place for my 92year old mother to get around. The crashing waves were a joy; so were the killer sunsets! A terrific experience. The grounds are impeccably maintained and people are friendly. Only one downside: the unit's hair dryer wa s missing, so I had to borrow, then buy one. The management company offered to reimburse me.

“Perfect location with a perfect view - beautiful grounds.”

Everyone was happy at Kona Isle. Brian, the caretaker was thoughful and very considerate. He kept the grounds and pool in great shape and could not do enough to make sure everything was wonderful. I will be back.

“HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE”

Reviewed 7 Feb 2013

As we walked in it was evident the unit was in terrible condition. The carpet is stained to the point you don’t want to take off your shoes. The unit is marketed to sleep 4, but there aren’t enough beds! The mattress on the pull out sofa is disintegrated and disgusting. The property manager’s solution was a blow up mattress for the filthy floor. We didn’t travel all that way to Hawaii and pay good money to be offered a blowup mattress on a filthy floor! When we expressed our dissatisfaction with this solution we were told that he wouldn’t get a mattress for at least a week. After more protesting amazingly a mattress did show up. Since the sofa was broken the mattress didn’t provide any support. The light switches are stained by years of grime. Several outlets didn’t work so there were extension cords everywhere. In the living room an outlet is taped to the wall by blue painter’s tape! When the maintenance man came to fix it, his solution was to paint the blue painter’s tape white! The furniture is so dirty that it feels greasy. We had to put towels on the furniture just to sit down. The whicker bedroom furniture has years of dust and dirt in it. It is quite awful. The closets are packed with junk that there was not anyplace to hang clothes. The blinds in the bedroom have layers of dust clinging to them. The windows are held onto the wall by painter’s tape. The window ledge in the living room is decaying so the wood and paint flake onto the floor. The small patio is covered in carpet that has grass growing through it! Nick, the property manager, continued to put us off placing the blame on housekeeping and the owner. He wouldn’t return calls resulting in staying longer then we should have. Subjecting our family to the unsanitary conditions and dealing with an irresponsible property manager wasn’t the way to spend our time in Hawaii. BEWARE, if Nick tells you this has been addressed you should know he actually stated the unit was just fine…

“Toilet is running...please check. Otherwise, nice stay.”

“Kona Isle, a real taste of Hawaii”

Reviewed 18 Apr 2012

The troical grounds and sunning beach of Kona Isle gives you a real sense of being in Hawaii without having to go the tourist stops.

“Kona visit”

Reviewed 22 Jan 2012

The appartment was very well furnished and comfortable.

“Great view for you and the roaches to enjoy!”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2011

Looks OK but after a while you see the Dry rot, doors that fall off, and good luck finding an outlet that works, bring an extension cord!!! And if you are planning to sleep on the pull out- do yourself a favor and sleep on the floor with the bugs. The matress is old and really thin so you get the pleasure of feeling every support bar. But view is great if you dont mind no AC!

“No electricity”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2011

The electricity in our condo did not work, so we were unable to stay. Although I would like to thank you a for getting us to a condo that worked. I really appreciate how efficient you were. The condo we did stayed at in Kona Isle was very nice.
