“Perfect location for Historical Evora”

Reviewed 19 Oct 2014

This place is central to the historic adventures within the wall of Evora. Very convenient, it's a clean, bright and spacious 2 bedroom flat with a lovely terrace on the roof. A well equipped kitchen and dining area (needs wine glasses for the great Portugal wine). Walking distance to all market needs and wants. Quiet, this place was a pleasure to stay in. All linen was provided (4 people ran out of toilette paper), and bedding very comfortable.

“Fancy”

Nos recibieron muy bien a nuestra llegada, y la estancia estuvo muy agradable. En la casita teníamos todo lo necesario para pasar unos días, y además, está en el centro de Evora.

“Casa Madalena”

Reviewed 30 Jan 2014

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely place. The welcome from Filomena and her daughter was most generous. Our only complaint was that even though there was a washing machine on the premises there was a sign on it stating that it was not for our use! One of the reasons we chose to not stay in a hotel was that we would have the opportunity to wash our clothing.

“Nice house and nice time in Évora”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2013

The house fitted our needs. Filomena, the person who received us, was very kind and nice. The house is near everything and is correctly equiped. Also keeps the charm of an old structure house. Very nice terrace where we enjoyed the wine and cheese that Filomena gave us as welcome present.

“Perfect in Every Way!”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2013

This is a wonderful apartment in the best possible location from which to see Evora! Everything we needed was there - we did some cooking in the small but cozy kitchen and enjoyed our evening wine on the lovely balcony. It fit our family of 5 perfectly and we were all so happy there. Filomena and Sophia greeted us when we arrived and showed us where everything was in the neighborhood, they were so helpful. There is a little grocery store and a butcher just around the corner, and a wonderful restaurant, Botequim Da Mouraria, just across the street. The temple of Diana and the Evora museum are very close too...shopping as well. Not a fancy place but a great historic apartment that is also family friendly. Highly recommended!

“Great location in Évora Historical Centre.”

Reviewed 27 Sep 2012

This was a delightful 2 bedroom apartment in the center of the old city. We enjoyed using the rooftop patio in the evening. The kitchen was well equipped. The street was quite and we could walk to most places we want to visit including a topnotch restaurant on the same block.

“Experience the alejento's life style”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2012

We have stayed in Casa Magdalena, the typical alejento's house in the middle of Evora for a conference. Everything was in perfect condition to experience the alejento's life style. The house is much better and much nicer than the picture on internet. The owner was attentive to cater our needs, and Christian, the young lady who greeted us in the house, represents exactly the simple charm of local region.

“A good option to spend a few days in Évora”

Reviewed 1 Feb 2012

Casa da Madalena is a very nice house, with lots of Portuguese typical features. As it is situated in the historical area, it becomes an excellent option for those who want to get to know and feel the city. The conditions in the house are good, in average. The well eqquiped kitchen becomes also an advantage (specially for families) since it allows the visitors to cook their own meals. The only inconvenience (specially for people who might have motor limitations) are the long tiring stairs, which are the only acess to the house.

“Rent this house If you wish to feel Evora”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2011

The manager of the house answers letters fast. The agent was in time and was very friendly. Location ect. are perfect, it is obvious. Interior of the house is 100% that a tourist needs in Portugal. The house helps a tourist to feel that he is in Portugal. If you stay here in cold season It will be better to ask to explain (detailed!) how to use heaters (there are three heaters in the house). I was not able to find plates and cups in the kitchen, then the manager wrote me that «in fact, cups and plates are in the living-room». Ok, may be... If you will look for them there, note here the result, please ))) There is a parking near the home. It is very important. We could to stay there Seat altea XL and open our car`s doors, it is good!!! There are two stairs in the house which are danger for small children. Do not let children to use them without parents. But do not afraid too much, be careful, it is enough. If you are a tall man, it is better to be careful when you go in/out the bathroom and go around in the kitchen (after two crashes my poor head remembers that it is better to follow this advice). Do not think that I am dissatisfied! On the contrary if I will to be able to return to Evora I would like to rent this house again, but with family I am ready to rent the house only in warm seasons.
