As every year we had a great time in House of the Sun. Great unit, in good not great condition, the kitchen needs to be updated, but we appreciated that the the apartment has tile even in the bedrooms. Not a great view, we know that this is gulf side unit but we have stay in others of the same type with better beach view. The building is clean an safe, the only downside is that the arcade used to be open until 10 pm and on Sundays and now closes at 4:30pm and doesn't open on Sundays at all, this is a big issue for my kids. The beach is beautiful, the town is quiet and has great places to eat. Even if the unit 209 it's not my favorite one I would stay in it again. Our family loves our vacation in Siesta Key and House of the Sun condo.
“Fun and restful with a lot of sun and splashing in the ocean.”
This was about out 5th or 6th stay at House of the Sun. We come down with other family members and friends. We always have an enjoyable time. The condos are clean and well equipped, the pool is a nice size and the beach is beautiful. It is close to many shopping venues and restaurants, as well as opportunities for water sports. It will always be the place we pick for our FL vacations.
This was our family's first stay at the Hots and our first trip to Siesta Key. We had such a great and restful vacation we are definitely coming back. The accommodations we clean and well kept and we really like the layout. Key items were location of the Hots, the size of the rooms, the well equipped kitchen, in-room laundry, the pool, the large area of private beach access, security, covered parking and the friendliness of the staff. This facility is located near the South bridge which tends to be a bit heavy with traffic as it is a main entry to the Key but even with younger kids we did not find this bothersome and the noise did not filter up to our unit. The location also allows for easy walking to a grocery store, pharmacy, and some restaurants and shops. It is an easy drive to the North part of the Key where the "Village" is located and where you will find some more restaurants and shops. While we enjoyed some late afternoon trips to the Village we decided we preferred the more secluded feel of the Hots from the hustle and bustle which is what we wanted to get away from!! The pool area is clean and there are plenty of chairs there and on the beach (remember to bring beach towels though as they are not provided). You also only get 2 rolls of toilet paper which is challenging with kids but not a big deal. Really our only disappointment was the comfort of the beds. None were great but the Master bedroom mattress was especially cheap and we added blankets and slept on top of the quilt to give it the feel of a normal mattress. This will not deter us from going again though, too many great things that make up for it!! The view from this unit is alley mostly, you need to lean to the far left to see the Gulf. Again, not a big issue for us. You can get closer but this was fine for us. We'd rather be out by the Gulf than looking at it anyway! Overall it was worth the price and we will go back again and again! Happy travels!
“Another great stay at House of the Sun~~~”
Great place with great people with a great office staff. Justin and Jeff are so willing to help, make it all perfect...and thank you again. We will be in touch for the next spring time vacant slots!!!
“very nice everything was clean .”
We like our stay in house of the Sun we had no problems of any kind the apartment was very clean . We feel like it was our house , the barbecue very nice the pool next to the beach we love it !!!
Our stay at House of the Sun was great. The staff, everything was perfext.
The service was excellent starting from the office to the janitor. The apartment was in perfect conditions, we really enjoyed the stay. The only recomendation for the owners of the units is to think about the furniture they buy, they should buy furnitures with a material that is easy to clean and they don't get dirty so fast. Thank you for let us have a very nine vacation. Keep up the good work. We will see you next year.
“Loved the place”
Great location and magnificent beach. Very convenient to have a washer and dryer. Fully equiped kitchen was super convenient. The only downside is that the beds were a little too hard for my taste.
“Relaxing fun on the beach”
I have been coming to the House of the Sun with my family for several years. This year our stay was as nice as previous years with one expection. There were about 2-3 days when the pool was not up to its usual clean standards. The water was hazy and had a yellow/green tinge to it. I was happy with your decision to let guests take lawn chairs down to the beach, near the water. That was a real perk. We always returned the chairs at the end of the day and cleaned up our area. We also retutned chairs and cleaned up areas of other guests who did not have the courtesy to do so on their own. We should have said something to them, but chose not to start a confrontation. We will definitely return for another stay within the next two years.
The condo was great. Only downfall was there was absolutely no view of the ocean :0(. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and dinnerwear. The updated bathrooms were great.
