“Miss.”

Reviewed 28 Nov 2016

I absolutely loved this cabin. Such attention to detail in every decor. The kitchen was FULLY equipped which really surprised me given past experiences. The only negative I can say is that there's no wifi and I had no reception on my T-Mobile phone ( full reception on my AT&T phone. Everything worked and they even had the cabin available early morning way ahead of my check in time. It was truly an amazing location. Be sure to follow the directions provided by the office as the GPS doesn't take you to the exact location. Nothing to be worried about but the office can't really provide much guidance if you get lost. Also try to arrive while you have sunlight. It is very dark throughout the mountain as there are no lights and got someone whose used to city lights the drive may be intimidating the first time. My only suggestion to the cabin office is that a bottle of complimentary water would be nice as a startup. Other than that I would highly reccomend this property and I would definately rent here again!

Response from the manager Thank you for choosing Alpine Mountain Chalets for your Smokey Mountain getaway. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to seeing you in the future.

“Ruined our trip”

Reviewed 18 Nov 2013

My wife made reservations Kathy over the phone, a woman later described as "old and forgetful". We were also told later that she doesn't live in Tennessee and had left out several details on our reservation, including my wife's email. Kathy told us that both us and our dogs were there from the 10th to the 15th. We didn't hear another word from Them. Kathy had neglected to inform us that there were documents to sign, or that we should be expecting an email. She'd not even put our emails or phone numbers on file so that someone else could remedy the situation! When we arrived we came into a half cleaned cabin with a broken hot tub. which took two days to fix. We checked our bank account to find that we'd been charged and additional $109 by alpine Mountain. We called to find out that the company had double booked and had come into our cabin and cleaned it out. We were informed that we were charged for the dogs (a fee that had already been administered...or so we thought) and that we were scheduled to leave on the morning of the 14th. These people had not left even left a voice mail. We were treated with complete disrespect. Rhonda was rude and went as far as to ask my wife if she could count, using her fingers as an example. When I approached her about the extremely rude way she was conducting herself towards my wife and I, she called 911, explaining that I was " escalating the situation", upon their arrival the not only disregarded her complaint but sympathized with our cause and encouraged us to file a formal complaint with the BBB. Our 1st honeymoon was not only ruined by alpine mountain chalets but we came home with colds from the 4 hour trip in our wet hiking clothes but missing valuables that amounted to around $400 that we are still waiting to receive in the mail. Not to mention the fact that our beloved family pets wet sick and traumatized!!! We do not recommend alpine mountain chalets and go as far to say they will ruin the Smokies for you.

Response from the manager In response to the low review on Little Bearadise by Jason_alan: Little Bearadise is one of our most rented one bedroom cabins. The area provides a beautiful mountain view and the property is just beautiful. We are certainly sorry that Jason and his new wife did not enjoy their stay with us. The guests made the reservation by telephone for a 4 night stay arriving on November 10th and departing on the morning of November 14th, with one of our senior advisors. Once a reservation is made, we email a confirmation letter and an electronic registration card that the guest must sign. Both of these documents provide the arrival and departure date for verification. This guest signed the electronic reservation card. We certainly empathize with the guest; in that they thought their reservation was for an additional night and certainly if this unit would have been available there would have not been a problem as we would have extended their stay and charged them the additional night. However, this property had been reserved for a 10 night stay for over 3 months prior to this reservation. These guests did incur an additional charge for the two pets that they brought to the cabin. This cabin is pet friendly; however there is a pet fee for each pet brought to the cabin. The guests did not disclose that they were bringing their pets, otherwise the pet fee would have been charged with the original charges for the stay. On the morning of the scheduled departure November 14th, we began calling the guests at 10:30am and left many messages, at 2:00pm we did have to remove the guests’ belongings and the very sweet and well behaved dogs as we had a guest waiting to check in. We brought all of their things to our office where the dogs were given food and water and kept in an adjacent office with a huge dog bed, as we have dogs. The dogs had harness leashes and were taken out twice on their leashes to go potty as we did not hear from their owners until 6:00pm. We did our best to rectify the situation with the guests and offered another property for an extra night as their original reservation was only for 4 nights. In regard to the missing items, we have yet to be notified as to what was actually missing and there was not anything left behind in the office or the cabin. Because of this situation we did institute a new policy to repeat the arrival and departure information as well as the guests’ personal information and have the guest verify the same information with a check box on our reservation system. We sincerely apologized to the honeymoon couple for this series of unfortunate events.
