“So happy we found this place for our Christmas getaway vacation.”

Reviewed 20 Jan 2015

Over the Christmas break, my family and I (a party of 6 adults and 2 kids) had the pleasure of staying at the Paradise Villa. We choose the Paradise Villa for 2 reasons. One, because of the location and breathtaking views, and two, because of how large the vacation home is and the fact that it would be able accommodate a large group. I must say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From day one, Eleanor went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly, that our expectations were met, and more importantly that we enjoyed our stay. We were greeted at the airport and came home to a nice homemade Trinidadian dinner. We arrived around midnight and therefore were not able to see the roads or hills or the beautiful landscape as we traveled to the villa. However, when we woke up the next morning, we were all in total awe of how amazingly beautiful Trinidad is. The views from the location of this vacation home cannot to explained with words. It is something you must see for yourself and although the photos provided in the listing did give us a taste of what to expect, they truly do not give justice to how beautiful it is!!!. But it didn't end there. As we became familiar with the windy hills, we also became more adventurous and were able to discover some more hidden gems that were less than a mile away from the villa. The villa was equipped with everything we needed. If we were ever in need of anything extra, from directions, to places out in town, more supplies, advice or whatever, Eleanor was only a phone call away and she literally came running to any of our needs. She even offered to personally drive us to places since the vehicle we rented couldn’t accommodate my entire family. She also gave my mother, sister and grandmother a personal tour around the northern part of the island, which they totally enjoyed. Because of a previous review, we were initially a bit concerned about the hills. And yes, getting up to the villa is an adventure in itself, but it is truly worth it. We rented a 4x4 Dodge pickup truck and had absolute no issues maneuvering up and down the hills. The last thing I would add is that we felt very safe the entire time we were there. The people of Paramin were super nice and always waived hello whenever we drove by. It’s either everyone was in the Christmas spirit or everyone there is just really nice. Maybe a little of both. :)
