“Beautiful, relaxing condo”

Reviewed 13 Oct 2016

Our group ended up renting all of the available units at Luna Azul! We had an amazing time, celebrating a recent family wedding and relaxing. The staff at the condos are wonderful. Seems a few units had some issues, but they were fixed in less than 15 minutes. Definitely book directly with the calendar keeper, Marcia with Akumal Direct, I think. Going through a 3rd party travel agent was my biggest regret about the whole thing. It was awesome to wake up each morning and watch the sun come up. We even got to see baby seaturtles released! The area of Half moon bay is still secluded from the crazy hustle of a heavily populated tourist zone. If that's your speed...you will love Luna Azul and Half moon bay!

“Fabulous Vacation Condo”

Reviewed 19 Dec 2013

This is the second time we've stayed in Luna azul #5. It's a wonderful condo that is delightfully appointed. The decorations are tasteful and tropical and the condo is very comfortable. The master bedroom has a king bed which is comfortable. The second bedroom has a queen and a single, which comfortably accommodates another couple or children. Though some may not like dealing with the stairs (it is the 3rd story), they're well worth the wonderful views and ocean breezes (which make the air Conditioner unnecessary). From the balcony (complete with table and chairs) you have a beautiful view of the beach and ocean; from the bathrooms you can see the extensive jungle canopy. The property is well maintained and the maid service is excellent. We've never had any issue with theft, and there is a security guard on duty at night. He was very helpful and helped us get checked in (we arrived late at night). The condo has a full kitchen which we used throughout our trip, but on those lazy nights there are several restaurants within walking distance. Our favorite restaurant is La Buena Vida. There are a few stores near the condo where you can buy most of your groceries, but I prefer the Chedauri in Puerto aventuras or Tulum to stock up for the trip. If you like laying on the beach, there are a palapas and chairs right there by the water.

“The Best”

This condo on the beach was perfect: clean, private, quiet and comfortable. The location on the bay is exquisit!

Response from the manager Thank you so much for your nice comments about Luna Azul condo 5! We sure appreciate your business and hope you will return next year for vacation.

“Fabulous Condo!”

Reviewed 24 Mar 2013

We've been staying at Luna azul for several years, but this is the first time we've had the opportunity to stay in Unit #5. It was everything we've come to expect from Luna azul and more. The condo was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and the views fantastic. The staff is friendly and helpful. The condo is ideally located within walking distance of several restaurants and shops. We can't wait to come back. I also love Marcia, with akumal Direct. Our flight was substantially delayed, and I was concerned about our new, and much later arrival time. She immediately called me back and made sure there were no problems with our late check in.

Response from the manager Thank you for your continued business returning again to Luna Azul. We are always so happy to have you as our guest. Thank you for posting your thoughts about your stay in condo 5. Your business is appreciated. We will look forward to seeing you again soon!

“perfect”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2012

the service was excellent. the apartments were very comfortable , we had already stayed with you before so we knew it was the right place for our get together family vacation. The area has plenty of things to do. The restaurants around not so good and very expensive, we would have like to eat real mexican food which we love.

Response from the manager Thank you for staying with us again at Luna Azul. We sure appreciate your comments about being comfortable in the units you rented. Next time you are in Akumal please visit our puebla where they Maya people live arcoss the highway. You will find some fantastic and authentic Mayan cuisine. Thank you for your business. It is appreciated.

“We Keep Coming Back”

Reviewed 28 Apr 2011

This is our 8th trip to akumal and our 7th stay at Luna azul. We really like #5 because we can see the turtles and rays and fish from the veranda as well as watch the orioles and warblers in the palm trees. #5 is comfortable and we get great daily service from the staff at Luna azul.

“Christmas 2009 at Luna Azul, #5, Akumal”

Reviewed 30 Dec 2009

Akumal definitely exudes more of an ex-pat versus "authentico" feel, but our family agreed it is the perfect base for a trip to QRoo. The clear and still waters of Akumal Beach lapping up onto the white sand are amazing, as are the shallow snorkeling wonders of Half Moon Bay. And the food! Not nearly enough time to sample all of the exceptional restaurants. Our Akumal favorites were La Lunita (never has grouper been prepared so well as on their Christmas Eve menu & they also win best margarita in Akumal), Turtle Bay Bakery (sticky buns!), Lol Ha (our favorite guacamole on this trip), and Que Onde. As for our condo, a few of the pluses at Luna Azul #5: Location! Sunrise! Clear ocean! Kitchen! Hot water showers! Comfortable beds in spacious rooms! Great restaurants nearby! What I would add if I owned #5: A comfortable chair or two for reading. Improved guest suggestion book with restaurant menus, more detailed recommendations of how-to's, and insider tips. More small rugs. Hints on how to get rid of ants (ouch!). Maps of the area, even if a large wall map. Overall, a lovely place and we were very happy to spend Christmas with our family in Akumal!

“Great vacation rental!”

“Tobie B.'s review of Luna Azul, Unit #5”

Reviewed 26 Oct 2009

This was our second stay in Akumal and second stay at Luna Azul. Everything was WONDERFUL! The staff is so helpful. Jorge at Luna Azul was there when I needed him and extra helpful with anything we (about 14 of us at Luna Azul) needed. We will be back. Marieke was also wonderful. She picked up where Leslie left off and was absolutely amazing. The entire staff is probably the best of any place that I have visited.

“Luna Azul Review”

Reviewed 28 Apr 2009

Great place for a family vacation. It's quiet, but not too secluded. Plenty of services nearby. Good snorkeling just outside the door in the bay. Plus the lagoon is just a short walk away. The Mayan ruins of Coba and Tulum are each a fun day trip. (Just arrive early to avoid the crowds and heat.) The only minor problem was having to open the south window in the living room in order to get internet connection.
