“Relax in southern France in a central location!”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2013

We stayed here a Fri night through Mon in early Oct (the weather was fabulous, btw). This is the perfect location to explore the south of France and to visit important historical cities while feeling (and being) in the countryside. More importantly, it was a great place to restore one's soul and simply relax. This is a very good sized (American standard) 2 bedroom/1 bath apt with an open plan kitchen/living/dining area, at the rear of the owners' home in a small village where grapes and wine are the center of life. The apartment is clean, and has everything you could possibly need, including a good size refrigerator, comfortable beds and strong wifi. The apartment feels like you have your own home and much privacy given the layout of the gardens. There is an outdoor patio where we enjoyed French wine, local cheeses, grapes, olives and fresh bread every evening. Robert and Pascale are gracious hosts who will help with directions to sites and groceries (the big market is a 12 minute drive), and guide you to local events. For example, they suggested Uzes on Saturday morning for the market. Great call---and Uzes is a fascinating small town unto itself, so plan on at least 3/4 day there. You can also visit the Pont du Gard, the Roman aqueduct in the area, which is in a nature park that stays open quite late (till midnite!), and is a good picnic spot with an excellent museum that should be visited first. We spent a day in Nimes, a city with outstanding Roman buildings. Visited the fort standing watch over Villenueve d'Avignon at sunset. One could two relaxing days in avignon; one to see the Pope's Palace and another exploring the rest of the city. We never made it to arles--but would suggest there and south to see the white horses and bulls. Needless to say, one needs a car and a GPS is helpful for americans unfamiliar with the French road signage system! But this is one of those places you never forget and soon long to return.

“We felt at home in the South of France, thanks to the great acco”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2013

We stayed for a week in Domazan, and could not ask for a better location to view all the must see attractions, like the pont du gard, avingnon and it's famous bridge, arles, and Mont Ventoux of Tour de France fame. We were also able to enjoy the smaller places in the area, go to local markets, purchase wine from local producers. Robert and Pascale have all the information to help you make your stay as active or as low key as you would like. The apt. is very well equipped and comfortable. The garden a lovely place to unwind and renew. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and at home. We are looking forward to our return visit, so we can smell the grapes a little longer.

Response from the owner Ann and Will are dream guests who will be welcome back anytime, hopefully soon !! Thanks for a great review, really appreciated A bientôt Pascale et Robert

“Good, clean and the perfect hosts”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2013

The village Domazan is perfectly located for exploring the region with for example avigon, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Aix-en-Provence, Marseilles, Camargue or Pont du Gard. It's a lovely little village - and Pascale and Robert are the perfect hosts: Nice, friendly and helpful with everything from small to big matters. The house is nice and clean, and it comes with a safe parking space as well. We were a family with two grown ups and two small children - and our mother in law who flew in to visit us for a few days. It never felt too small or cramped. We really enjoyed the stay here, and invited Pascale and Robert to visit us in Malmö, Sweden if they are in the neighbourhood. And that is probably the best rating you could give to a host family!

Response from the owner We have been hosting actively for a few years now and the greatest pleasure is when guests like Sofie and Joen arrive... The hard part is when they leave... it always seems too early :-) A bientôt Pascale et Robert
