“Relaxing, comfortable, and convenient.”

Reviewed 17 Apr 2014

We were very pleased with our rental home. It was warm, comfortable, and convenient to town. My favorite part of my stay was when we woke up on Sunday morning to fresh snow and an entire herd of elk hanging out in the back yard!

“Doiron provided a comfortable and peaceful vacation.”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2013

Like other Windcliff properties, Doiron was perfectly maintained and comfortable. The staff is excellent in its service. Doiron was a nice home, very peaceful surroundings inside and out. The house was supplied just like home, with all that was needed in the kitchen and baths. The porches provided a perfect place for quietly observing the variety of wildlife that happened to walk by, including a black bear!

“Beautiful house...but not for the faint of heights!”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2013

Planned a week stay at the Dorion. Arrived to find out that the house was perched high on a mountain (thus the beautiful views). The roads are wide enough and safe; but also have at least 4 switchbacks with cliff drop offs. The "streets" were not clearly marked and the map/directions were unclear as well. We missed our street the first time up causing us to drive to the very top of the development. We then had to do a 6-8 point turn to go back down. The roads are wide enough to drive on but not so wide to do a decent turn. We have a Crew Cab Toyota Tundra. Getting into the driveway of the house required a 3 point turn looking downhill to get into the driveway. Once we figured out how to get to the unit... it was better but still precarious, in my opinion. The duplex was very nice and the views...Wow! The Master Bedroom is situated at the top level and the 2 other bedrooms were on the bottom which had access to a main level deck/door. We personally did not like the fact that the 2 bedrooms are girls were going to be in were downstairs because of the ability to access them through the porch door. Overall, the Dorion is a beautiful place to stay for those who have no height issues. We stayed only 2 of the 7 days reserved because of my height issues. I just couldn't get comfortable with the drive up and down. The house was within 1/4 mile of the Ymca. It was very close to the city of Estes Park and the National Park. There was little concern for our early departure by the management and no refunds were given, even though they failed to stress the steepness of the roads and the altitude of the house. They cited the contract which we signed and that was it. I was disappointed by the fact that there was no mention in any of the write ups about the development's location and possible issues for people with height issues. I was also disappointed that there was no accommodation made for us, regardless of a contract signed on a property that was sight unseen.

Response from the manager Thank you for your review. Our mountain location is clearly stated on the website and is the reason why we enjoy such great views. "Windcliff is a private mountainside residential community covering the sunny side of Rams Horn Mountain." "As a year round private community, the roads are plowed and maintained quite well. Winter visitors should always keep in mind the occasional rigors of mountain driving." As anyone can see from reading other reviews, it is no secret that we have mountain driving conditions. While we can appreciate that it was not for you, and unlike a hotel that can fill a room at the last minute, our vacation homes are rented months in advance and we cannot provide refunds to guests who change their minds through no fault of the management.

“Doiron”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2012

The Doiron property was very nice. The views are stunning. The bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. As someone who travels 40+ weeks/year, I found the mattresses in exceptional condition. The kitchen styling was a little dated, but was very well equipped (and that's what really counts). I especially appreciated the Keurig coffee maker. The deck off of the LR is rather small. However, there was a hummingbird feeder which I filled and the hummers were dive bombing it for the entire stay! It was wonderful. The only drawback with Doiron is the condition of the LR furniture. While it looked ok, sitting on it was not a pleasant experience. The cushions are in pretty bad shape. I would not let that detract me from recommending the Doiron. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay - and the view makes up for any minor inconveniences. The Wyncliff staff were very helpful and the unit was very clean and comfortable.

“Another good Windcliff property.”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2012

This was our fifth stay at Windcliff. Doiron was a good value. From the patio we discovered that there was a crying baby next door on our first night; but because of the way the duplex is configured we were not disturbed at all indoors. That is not true of some other duplexes we have used. We would stay here again.

“Accommodating, comfortable, quiet, and relaxing!”

Reviewed 27 May 2012

This is the second time we have stayed at the Doiron. We love it! It may become our new home away from home. The home is very clean and has all we need except groceries. The views of the mountain range are breathtaking. Currently only the two of us have stayed but someday may invite our family out with us. The hummingbirds were so fun to watch as well as a family of seven mule deer that frequented our area. The staff at Windcliff are very friendly and helpful.

“Most incredible views of the mountains”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2011

The service at Windcliff is great, they really make you feel like one of the family. The Dorian home is very cozy and comfortable. This is our 3rd year staying at WC, each time a different home. None of the homes have disappointed us - they are each unique in their own way, the views are fantastic, and the amenities - just what you would have at home. The downstairs den was a great place to sit back and read or watch TV. The deck and lower patio gave each level their own outdoor space. Even though it was a 2 family home, the way it was situated, it felt very private. The only downside was the hot tub in the lower level family room - we didn't use it as the little one went to bed early and we didn't want to disturb his sleep. Would have been nice to have had it in a separate room or outside. Overall, I would stay at the Dorian again, and we will definitely stay at Windcliff on our next trip to Denver.

“The views are breath taking.”

This is the second time we have stayed at Doiron. We will choose Doiron again if it is available on our next trip to Estes Park. We have stayed in several other homes at WindCliff but we prefer the Doiron.

“Wonderful views to the mountains and quiet.”

The views from the property met expectations and were the highlight of our stay. The accomodations and service were satisfactory. Easy to work with staff. Would have enjoyed better furnishings on decks and balconys. Overall this was a very nice stay and experience.
