“Excellent, As Usual”
Our stay at Alpenglow was excellent as usual, all the necessities were present in the house, in addition to more. The hiking from the neighborhood was wonderful, be sure to hike Teddy's Teeth and over to Lily Lake.
“Absolutely perfect rental home!”
We rented Alpenglow for 6 nights in May 2015. It was absolutely perfect. The view was amazing, the amenities were abundant (I would dare you to find a kitchen gadget that ISN'T in this home), the beds were comfortable and the master bathroom was amazing. We instantly felt like we were "home" and spend a great deal of time at Alpenglow during our stay. Our favorite spot was on the deck, watching hummingbirds, magpies, sterling jays and mule deer. We also spent a few hours in the hot tub (not too hot, not too cold). In a nutshell...we'll be back!
“Our Favorite House at Windcliff”
We have stayed at a number of homes in Windcliff on many occasions. We love the neighborhood because of the beautiful views and the convenient location. The property management is always very welcoming and does a great job taking care of the rental homes. Every time we have stayed in one of their homes, it has always been very clean upon arrival, and they are always attentive to any maintenance issues that might arise. Alpenglow has become our favorite home in Windcliff. We stayed 5 nights this visit. The house is very comfortable and nicely furnished. We had everything we needed in the beautiful kitchen to prepare meals, and more. We especially enjoyed the additional living area downstairs. The view is gorgeous, especially sunrise! We will definitely stay at Alpenglow again!
Our family enjoyed the home and the animals that visited us. The home is beautiful and the kitchen has almost everything we could want. There was space for 4 families with room to have some private time. An additional bathroom, would have been nice since two couples had to share, but the 1/2 bath upstairs helped. It was quiet and peaceful. Would recommend it to families who want a beautiful place with plenty of room.
“Amazingly Beautiful and Romantic!”
My husband and I decided to come to the mountains for our honeymoon and alpenglow at Windcliff definitely made our trip memorable! The staff was so accommodating and friendly and our cabin was so much better than the pictures. I wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else. Definitely a romantic place to start a new marriage and the views are breathtaking. Thank you Windcliff for such an amazing stay. Can't wait to come back!
Response from the manager Thank you for the great review! We are so pleased that you chose Windcliff for your honeymoon. Alpenglow is a special home to all of us and we are glad that you enjoyed it. We hope you come back soon.
“"Girls Weekend" Getaway”
What a wonderful home to rent for our annual gathering. The kitchen was very well appointed for all the wonderful meals we love to prepare. The hot tub was just what the doctor ordered! The staff at Windcliff is one of the best we have ever dealt with and the box of local chocolates in a beautiful box was a very nice touch.
“We didn't want to leave.”
This was our second stay at alpenglow and we can't wait to come back again. The house is beautiful, comfortable and well-equipped. The view is unparalleled. The house and the view are actually even better than the photos. The best part of the stay was beginning and ending the day on the deck looking at the view of the mountains. The kitchen is so well-equipped that you can cook anything. Loved the hot tub after a long day of hiking and relaxing with a movie in the media room.
“Felt Like Home”
Alpenglow is a great place to call home after a long day of hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Windcliff area is the perfect location for quiet solitude yet close to downtown Estes Park. Our family of 6 enjoyed coffee on the deck with mountain views, grilling on the gas grill, and gazing at the stars at night. Master suite is spacious and well appointed with the famously high king bed. Stools are provided if needed. Kitchen is well equipped, even has a wine honor bar. Living room has comfortable leather sofas, a wood burning fireplace and great mountain views. The lower level features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a media room with DirecTV and Dvds. We all enjoyed the outdoor hot tub in the evening. We saw mule deer in the backyard, hummingbirds and black-billed magpies. The drive up to the home can be challenging, so be prepared for switchbacks on gravel roads. Recommend 4 wheel drive outside of summer. The payoff is the view you enjoy. The Windcliff staff is friendly and accommodating. We plan to return to the Windcliff area and, perhaps to enjoy alpenglow again.
“Good single story home but needs some touches to be the right va”
Great Space. Decent location although the road to the west makes privacy concerns and event auto light and sound shows. The challenges are that the place missed simple amenities for example you should be able to expect if there's a pepper grinder that it's loaded, you should make sure oil and vinegar are available, the coffee maker should be cleaned, etc. When you pay what is asked for these, basics shouldn't be something missed. Unless you are tall like me, the master bed will require a step stool. I just think you can get more for your $ elsewhere in Windcliff. However for readers I will state while I always come back I will never give any property in Windcliff 5 stars simply because if the home can house 8, then when you pay the rent the whole $25/pp add on should be included...and I've only ever come to Windcliff with my wife. It's just something that is equivalent to usary especially on the larger homes.
Response from the manager Thank you for your review. First of all, I just want to clarify that the Alpenglow is a two story detached home, not a "single story". We deliberately do not stock condiments in the home because we cannot vouch for their freshness or sanitary condition. This is clearly stated on the Windcliff Properties website. We do try hard to keep our promises but are not responsible for keeping promises we do not make. I would also like to clarify that Windcliff is a single entrance community. There is no through traffic. Since it is a residential neighborhood there is some vehicle traffic but the neighborhood is so quiet that you can hear a wild turkey gobble from half a mile away. We apologize that the coffee maker was not cleaned to your satisfaction. Had you notified us we would have sent housekeeping up to correct the error. Regarding pricing, we are unusual in that we have a base rate for 2 persons and an additional charge per additional person per night. The base rate allows guests to stay in a larger home without having to pay for the maximum occupancy if they are a couple or small party. We get many guest comments about what good value we offer but of course this is a matter of personal preference. We do offer substantial seasonal discounts depending on when you come. The master bed is equipped with a step stool. The bed features an extra-thick mattress which we think is a nice amenity.
Fantastic experience. Would definitely come back. Beautiful views over the mountains
