“Excellent Condo With Very Attentive Owner”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2016

This is an excellent condo with wonderful view and large terrace. Its spacious and well worth the climb of three stairs. The apartment was probably the best equipped rental we have EVER stayed in (and we have stayed in many). As far as the kitchen goes you would be hard pressed to name any piece of equipment / apparatus that this condo hasn't got ! An absolute joy to me, as I prefer to cook than eat out. it was also nice to find some cooking and kitchen basics such as herbs & spices, mustard, sugar, coffee filters, napkins, dishwasher tablets etc. etc, left by the owner and/ or previous guests. Beds were comfortable and so was the air con. Water temperatures & shower pressure all perfectly fine. Parking is a short distance but you can drive up to the condo to unload suitcases and shopping etc. Whilst its not essential to have a car, it certainly does make life a lot easier for visiting the supermarket and getting around the island in general. We decided after one day to rent one and got a great price on line (same day) from AVIS for an almost brand new large SUV and they even came to the condo to pick us up at no charge. The communal pool was a bonus - water temps were perfect ....though the hot spa was set to lobster boiling temperature (too hot for us cold water Brits !) Possibly the only downside while we were there was that they had just closed Billy Bones for refurbishing (and left quite a mess !) but presumably that will be reopening brighter and better. However, there are plenty of other bars within 10 minutes walk of the property. The beach is really nice soft sand - thought the swimming cove is a little choked with seaweed - though this might just be the time of year ? Overall though the beach is a brilliant place to watch the sun go down each evening. One thing I would like to say is that the owner Ken, is extremely helpful and very fast to respond to any query and/ or apartment niggles. He is your dream owner - conscientious, and genuinely interested in making your stay the best it can be. I would not hesitate to recommend this condo and would love to return some day

Response from the owner Thank you for the beautiful review, I appreciate it! I just learned that Billy Bones is being renovated and will reopen as a "It's 5 O'clock Somewhere". I think by late November. Usually the cove does not have a lot of seaweed, but it does change with the time of year.

“Best unit in Sunset Cove”

Reviewed 21 Mar 2015

We've stayed at Sunset Cove twice now, and have stayed or visited four different units in the complex. This unit is the best, hands down. My family stayed in this unit in March 2015. Being on the top floor has the benefit of giving the unit great views and beautiful high ceilings, and the owner has done nice job decorating the unit. It's also a corner unit, so you have a large window where other units are walled-in, and the large patio is more open than other units. It also has a nice feature that it has two phone lines, one for free local calls, and one for free calls to the US. The kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and living area are all excellent, and you'll have a great time.

“Exceeded our expectations”

Reviewed 20 Nov 2014

My husband and I, along with 2 other couples, rented this beautiful oceanfront condo in Grand Cayman. It was absolutely stunning! The condo is well kept and very clean and the location is perfect! You are located right on 7 mile beach, with your own little beach where you can snorkel right outside the condo. It is pretty amazing! Ken, the owner, did a great job with his welcome book. Literally everything you could want to know about the property and/or Cayman in general is in the book. If you have any questions, check the book! Recommendations for restaurants, scuba trips, snorkeling excursions and more are all detailed in the book. It was really nice being able to cook meals whenever we wanted, instead of having to eat out for every meal. It was also nice to have the option of a bar/restaurant (Billy Bones) on location for when we didn't want to make our own food and drinks... so you actually have all the benefits of a hotel if needed. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

“outstanding”

Reviewed 12 Dec 2013

The condo was very spacious, three large bedrooms & two full bathrooms! The kitchen was nicely stocked with assorted spices and coffee which we used every day. You can view the ocean from the kitchen, master bedroom and living room. The deck is huge which you can enter from either the master bedroom or living room. We sat at the patio table and watched several people parasail and at times a cruise ship would enter George Town harbor. We did soak up some sun on the patio and on the private beach, which also has a large swimming pool and pool bar with four TVs, food & drinks. We snorkeled every day right in front of the condo. We put our gear on at the private beach and swam to the coral reef which is loaded with ocean life to view. We saw lobsters, puffer fish, sting ray, barracudas just to name a few! The condo is located close to lots of fine restaurants within walking distance.

Response from the owner I am so glad you enjoyed your stay ! The snorkeling and having so many things within walking distance are two of my favorites. Billy Bones is a fun, convenient place!

“Great views, Great location!”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2013

My family of four stayed here for a week. The location of the condo is perfect, on the southern end of Seven Mile Beach, close to Georgetown. The condo was spacious and well equipped. We were pleasantly surprised at the wonderful snorkeling within the cove. Our kids were able to get a hang of snorkeling before we went out to do serious snorkeling. The pool was wonderful. Even the food at Billy Bones (Pool Bar) was surprisingly good. We sat on our balcony every morning, enjoying the wonderful views while we planned our day, had our coffee and ate breakfast. There are many iguanas in the trees around the condo. One even came up to welcome us on our first morning. The kids loved it. We are eager to go back. Ken was very easy to work with, eager to please and make sure things were going well. The greater was friendly and informative.

Response from the owner Thank you for the nice review ! I agree that the snorkeling in front of the condo is very good - especially for beginners. Schools of fish, neat coral, and the cove keeps it very safe. Hope to have you again some day! Ken

“Beautiful view!”

Great condo! Huge deck to watch sunsets. Great location, close to everything. Good snorkeling right in front. Nice pool with food & drinks. Ken is super to work with. Great place for families. Best price for an oceanfront 3 bedroom condo on SMB!

Response from the owner Thank you Vickie for the nice review! The great views off the deck are the main reason I bought this condo. Glad you had a wonderful time, hope to have you again some day. Ken

“This was very beautiful, relaxing and worth staying.”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2013

Ken had someone meet us at the condo when we arrived and showed us around and told us what was the best on the island she was very helpful and nice. The condo was one of the most well equipped places we have ever stayed it had everything. The view was fabulous, the water was fantastic and a short distance from almost everything that we did for the week. We ventured out some but nothing was real far away or hard to find. The entire vacation was wonderful and enjoyed by all.

“Wonderful vacation”

We rented this condo and were thrilled with everything about it. Location was perfect. We did a lot of walking and it was central to a lot of things. The swim up pool/ bar area was exceptional. Great service and food! The ocean front was great for snorkeling. Loved watching the cruise ships come in daily. Great sunsets in the evening and great weather!

“A week in paradise”

Reviewed 23 Feb 2013

We just returned from a stay in this condo and couldn't have asked for a better place from which to enjoy Grand Cayman. We opened the huge patio doors in the mornings and enjoyed the perfect ocean breeze with breakfast. Days were spent exploring all the watersports and nature the island has to offer. In the evening we discovered why the strata is called Sunset Cove, this unit is perfectly situated to enjoy stunning sunsets over the ocean, if you're lucky you might even catch a pirate ship in front of the setting sun! Every night brought forth a different yet amazing sunset, truly fitting to it's name. The unit has everything you could need, from cooking equipment and supplies to laundry facilities to beach towels and day bags. We had several adults in our group and there was plenty of room. Plenty of room to sit on the couch or one of many chairs in and around the condo. Or, head out to the patio where there was more than enough room to spread out on the lounge chairs or sit around the large table. The condo is only a short walk from a nice coffee shop, liquor store, and quite a selection of restaurants. There were many convenient options for everyone. All of us made visits to the Camana Bay development. There are many shops, places to get ice cream, or grab a quiet outdoor dinner with fantastic food. The observation tower was spectacular!! A few of us went on a few scuba dives with Don Foster's Dive shop, just south of George Town. They were amazing to work with, we highly recommend them to anyone. The entire group did a few touristy trap type things like Stingray City (this is a must see!) and a few snorkel sites which was amazing. We did it right by doing it later in the day when the cruise ships were getting ready to head out... Ken was a wonderful host and made us feel welcome and secure, his condo was very nice and you truly can't beat the location. A truly amazing stay was had in the Caymans, Thank you Ken for a brief slice of paradise.

Response from the owner Thank you for choosing my condo. Very glad you had such a wonderful time! Hope to have you again some day as guests. Ken
