“Great one bedroom in Charlestown”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2013

Salem Street Court is an exceptional find in Charlestown. The location is great since it is quite accessible to Boston proper, yet away from the hustle and crowd in the city. It is only a few blocks from the Orange Line "T", and the beginning of the Freedom Trail at Bunker Hill. Main Street in Charlestown has plenty of restaurants, a coffee house and a brand new Whole Foods, should the need arise. This area is comfortable to walk around in the evening, and for history buffs, you can take in a meal and/or cocktails at the historic Warren Tavern. Owner Elizabeth is a pleasant, reasonable host, truly concerned with the comfort and hospitality of her guests. Beyond the usual commercial pamphlets, Elizabeth has prepared a notebook of her own suggestions for walking tours in each section of Boston, and also provides information to outlying cities should you want to extend your sightseeing. Overall, Salem Street Court is a wonderful, peaceful place to stay.

Response from the owner Thank you very much for taking the time to review us! It was truly a pleasure to meet such appreciative and considerate guests as you. I wish you all the best, a good fall, and hope to welcome you again in the future.

“Elizabeth, Bill, and Margaret were awesome!”

We stayed in the Salem Court Suite the back half of our stay in Boston. We were pleasantly surprised by how large the space was and how serene it felt. We never went without anything that we needed. Our hosts made sure that we were always taken care of. There is no way to do laundry in the suite but this didn't bother us at all as there is a laundry facility within a two minute walk. We parked our car at a parking garage and paid about $20 less per day than at most parking garage's in the city. The walking path was very safe. The suite was within a short walk to the "T" (public transportation) and you can be nearly anywhere within 30 minutes of walking. My husband and I felt very safe here. You will be glad you chose to stay at the Elegance at Salem Street Court.

“Charlestown Gem”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2013

My daughter and I stayed in the Morrocan Suite for 2 nights. We were greeted by Elizabeth who is the owner who is lovely and really helpful. The accommodation is gorgeous and so comfortable. We were really sad to leave and could have stayed much longer. The furnishings are gorgeous, the bed so comfortable, really clean and a breakfast left in the fridge each day. Why would anyone stay in a hotel when you can stay here. It is situated in Charlestown where Bunker Hill monument is. We caught the hop on hop off bus which had a stop a 10 minute walk away. The monument is 1 minute away as is the start of the Freedom trail. There are a few local restaurants a 5 minute walk (not even) from the accommodation which we had every night and both places were really good. I highly recommend this place.

“One Of The Best Places We Have Ever Stayed In”

Reviewed 18 Oct 2012

What a wonderful place to stay. Our host Elizabeth was so welcoming and friendly that we soon felt we had known her for the longest time. She provided everything to make our stay comfortable and relaxing from the softest towels ever to the fantastic comfortable bed. She also provided everything we needed for a nice breakfast to start the day. The suite which we stayed in was the most unique and beautiful apartment which had it's own balcony overlooking the quiet pretty garden. The whole experience was absolutely perfect. If you are looking for somewhere nice to stay within easy reach of central Boston, look no further - this is the place to stay in historic Charlestown. We hope to be able to go back to Elegance again soon. Thank you for everything. Elizabeth.
