“Lovely apartment in the best section of Amsterdam!”
We just returned from 4 nights at Dianne's lovely apartment. The longer we were in Amsterdam, the more we appreciated the location: everything you need or want close by with none of the seediness found in some parts of the city. Public transportation was close at hand when the weather discouraged us from walking everywhere. The apartment is spacious and very well equipped with a well stocked refrigerator as a real bonus. We have rented 4 other apartments in the last month, and Dianne renewed our faith in apartment rentals. Being owners of a Flipkey property ourselves, we appreciated all the conveniences Dianne provides her guests in an impeccable environment. To top it off, she is a gracious hostess, always quick to respond from the beginning of our contact and so helpful during our stay. No one could ask for more!
Why stay in a hotel? Great apartment in a quiet residential street, minutes from beautiful canals and attractions. Handy for popping back during the day, nearby to local bars, supermarkets, take away etc. lovely breakfasts, Diane is a real treat -friendly, accommodating and with great tips on where to go. I'll certainly stay here again. I'll also recommend bike city close to anne frank house, excellent and helpful rental.
We had an amazing stay. The apt is centrally located and there is everything you need for your stay within walking distance. I loved the area because it feels like an old European city and not so touristy. The apartment is very clean and spacious and Diane prepared things in the fridge to make quick breakfasts which was very helpful. Thank you so much Diane!
“Home from Home”
This isnt just a B&B; - this is a whole apartment you are getting for a very reasonable price. The apartment situated in a very residential area of the fantastic Jordaan has everything you need on your doorstep, with local supermarkets , post office , bars & eateries , not to mention the fantastic community vibe & the most adorable shoe, bag & clothes shops - you would think you were in Chelsea!!!In the summer months you benefit from a lovely sun deck to sit & have a glass of wine prior to going out for the evening . The heart of all the action is only a 15 min walk(I walk quite slowly- taking in all the attractions on route) - not too far away but far away enough for the apartment to be peaceful & tranquil when your ready to retire after a busy day of sight seeing.Transport links are brilliant with trains trams boats & bikes - you can get anywhere quite easily & if you like picnics in the park you must visit Vondel Park - absolutely beautiful on a sunny day . To end the apartment has so much to offer - everything you need & more & the landlady is so accommodating & welcoming, it really did make our stay special. We had a lovely break & couldnt have asked for any more to make it truly wonderful. Highly recommended. Ps - only 1 flight of stairs(& not steep) to the apartment compared to lots of others which have 3 or 4. Full size bathroom with lovely big bath - compared to most rooms in amsterdam only having a tiny shower cubicle. Some real pluses if you like your home comforts whilst being away .
“Great Location, Fantastic city break”
From start to finish myself and my husband had a great stay. Dianne was there to welcome us to her flat and had taken the time to show us around. Also Dianne had stocked the fridge with various items which I though was a lovely touch. The location is superb in the lovely area of Jordaan. From there its a very short walk to the centre of town. As I would have to say I'm a very fussy person when it comes to accommodation but' I would definitely stay here again. Would not bother with staying in a hotel.
“a great 2-day stay at Db's B”
Dianne gave us a splendid welcome when we arrived at her flat and filled our fridge with enough breakfast food for our two days stay. The flat was very comfortable and well equipped. We had not intended to eat in apart from breakfast but on a couple of occasions it just seemed the best thing to do, to buy food in the nearby supermarket and use the kitchen facilities in the flat. It was like a home from home and so much more relaxing than a hotel stay. The flat is in a very pleasant part of amsterdam, 5 minutes walk from the anne Frank museum and 20 minutes walk from Dam Square in the centre of town.
“A gem in the Jordaan”
Like most Dutch homes, there are some slightly steep stairs, but the bathroom is considerably larger than many I have seen. The apartment is nicely furnished and the service was excellent, provided by a very knowledgeable and helpful owner who lives below. The apartment is a moderate walk to the center, but close to all the attractions in the Jordaan and western canal belt and with excellent Tram service at hand to go to cs or the museum district. Good restaurants and a very interesting Saturday market are within a couple of short blocks. For those willing to walk a bit, this place is perfect for those who want to experience a bit of Dutch life along with their holiday. Het was gezelig!
“First time visitor to The Netherlands”
Arrived early Friday morning and was concerned what I would do until check in time. Thankfully, when I located the apartment, I was able to check in right away. I relaxed and listened to the pleasant sounds of people going about their business in this quiet location. The sounds of the children at the playgound up the street is a rare sound for me at my home in the States. It is perfectly located to transit to go wherever you need to go, but not really a long walk, either; especially until you decipher the transit system and nearest locations. I used Manix Plein (?) a lot. The place was very clean, had a nice private balcony, excellent hot water. There is a television and DVD player, Dvds to watch, and computer to use. Wifi worked flawlessly with my tablet. The refrigerator had some food and juices stocked. The tap water was great to drink; this coming from someone who drinks almost exclusively bottled water. Food, drink, smokes, Atms, and laundry facilities are all very nearby. It was a great place to stay, and made for a thoroughly enjoyable vacation. No complaints.
“Lovely spacious apartment with excellent instructions on arriva”
Our host was away however arrangements were made for a friend to meet is which worked well. The apartment was spacious, clean and well equipped and we enjoyed a lovely three days in the Jordaan, Amsterdam.
We stayed in amsterdam for a few days. The flat is gorgeous, real amsterdam. The bed is the most comfortable i've had in my many travels. Big plus - there is a living room where u can have coffee with friends. Dianne is the warmest person on earth who will help u with anything u might need. (She even ordered a taxi for us). She felt like a friend rather than a land lord. I canno t thank her enough. How could I forgot to mention : the flat is right in Jordan, meaning all destinations of the old city are walkable. I personally think that amsterdam has to be walked - the only way to get a unique feel of the city.
