“Wonderful character cabin”

Reviewed 10 Jun 2017

This tastefully furnished well equipped cabin is situated in a lovely rural position with a lovely deck for outside meals in the sun and a cosy interior for romantic nights.

Response from the owner Thank you so much for choosing the Cedar Cabin during your visit to Lynchburg. I appreciate your kind words and I am so happy you enjoyed your time at the cabin.

“Better experience than we could have even imagined!”

Reviewed 28 May 2015

Three girl friends and myself made a long weekend trip to Tennessee. We stayed downtown in Nashville for two of the nights and then made the drive to Lynchburg (about an hour and twenty minutes) to stay in the Cedar Cabin. The drive to Lynchburg from Nashville is beautiful. I've stayed in Nashville before but have never had the chance to experience the countryside, which is like something out of a photograph. The girls and I stopped in Shelbyville at the Walmart to stock up on beer and groceries for the two days. **One thing we learned was that Moore County is a DRY County. So, you can buy beer at the gas station and grocery stores, HOWEVER, liquor and wine has to be purchased outside of the county, at a liquor store. This wasn't a big deal for us because we stopped at a liquor store in Shelbyville to grab a couple bottles of wine. As we wound through the trees and hills to get to the cabin, we stopped multiple times to take pictures because it was so beautiful. I truly can not do the scenery justice with my words. We arrived at the cabin and immediately felt at home. The Cabin is settled on top of a hill, surrounded by trees at the back and a paved driveway to the front, complete with cows across the road. It was almost surreal to be there. The girls and I quickly explored the cabin and found a basket Fran had left with the ingredients for S'mores, tools to start the fire, and a stocked coffee basket. We spent the first night grilling and enjoying the sunset around the fireplace. The first day we had breakfast on the deck and our hearts fill of coffee. We toured the Jack Daniels Distillery and then explored Lynchburg. We spent the second night in Tullahoma at a quaint little BBQ joint called Route 55 BBQ (we highly recommend the fried pies!!) and then had a couple drinks at London's. The second evening we started another fire and enjoyed our wine. The second day came far too quickly and sadly we packed our things and said our farewells to the Cedar Cabin. I loved everything about our stay here. Fran made everything so easy and enjoyable. I speak for myself and my friends when saying that we WILL return, and we can't wait! Thank you, Fran, for sharing this little piece of heaven with us. We made memories we will never forget and we had the time of our life.

Response from the owner Thank you so much for the great review. I am glad that you and your girlfriends made great memories and I hope you will return to Lynchburg again. It's the greatest little town!

“Wonderful place to stay”

Cabin was great - fantastic location just a few minutes from Lynchburg. Clean and well-stocked. Had TV's in every room. The outdoor fireplace was fantastic. We were impressed

Response from the owner I am so glad you and your husband enjoyed your time at the cabin, it makes for a great getaway from the hussle of the city and have time to relax and spend quality time together!

My husband Jason surprised me with a 2 night stay in this cedar cabin this weekend (arrived 5/30/14 departed 6/1/14. I wanted to load the cabin up and take it back home with me, it is absolutely beautiful inside and out.. My favorite was the smell of the cedar, one of my favorite smells. The cabin is beautiful decorated and very up to date in style. It is a very peaceful place to stay and would love to bring the family back for the next trip. Not but a couple of miles from the historical town of Lynchburg and the Jack Daniel's distillery. We loved sitting outside in the evenings and listen to nature and watching the cows across the street. Jennifer H

Response from the owner I am sorry for the long delay in responding to your great review. I am very pleased that you had a wonderful time and enjoy the beautiful little cabin. I hope you can visit again in the future.

“Amazing place to stay!”

My boyfriend and I stayed here for memorial day weekend. He is a big fan of jack daniels. This was perfect as it was only minutes away from the distillery. The cabin is gorgeous. The bed was super comfortable. It made you feel right at home. Loved the out door fireplace and to watch the cows across the street. Fran made sure we felt right at home and made sure our trip was stress free. I recommend this place to everyone and cant wait to stay here again.

Response from the owner Thank you for visiting Lynchburg and the Cedar Cabin. We hope you return soon.

“I want to move there!”

Peaceful wooded location but still convenient to town. Lovely outdoor fireplace. Interior decoration is elegant while still being homey and inviting. The host and hostess accommodate your every need. Very clean. We couldn't have asked for more. Would definitely stay there again.

Response from the owner Thank you for being our guest and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to seeing you again.

“Best Place to Stay in the Hollow”

Reviewed 1 May 2014

I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to the Lynchburg TN area. It is a quick 5 minute drive from downtown Lynchburg, 3 minutes if you enjoy scraping your footboards on your motorcyle through the winding roadway. The Cabin itself is beautifully decorated and has a very warm "home" feel to it. On a chilly night, the fireplace on the deck is a great place to hang out and enjoy the night sounds of the country setting. Our BBQ team was welcomed by a special note from the owner wishing us luck while in town for the Jack Daniel's Invitational. We have already reserved the Cabin for 2014's Jack Daniel's Invitational, so if you are in town come by and say hi to the Truebud BBQ team. While you are in town, lunch/dinner at Miss Mary Bo Bo's is a must and don't forget to take a tour of the distillery. If you are within a hundred miles of this place and are looking for a place to stay that has a lot of character...This is the place!!! (Side note: I really appreciated the satellite TV service so we could watch the MLB playoffs while playing cards with our Truebud's in the cozy living room!!!)

Response from the owner We are looking forward to seeing you again in October for the Jack Daniel Invitational and thank you are the great words about the cabin. We are hoping 2014 will be the year!

“Beautiful Cabin and Tremendous Hospitality”

Reviewed 7 Apr 2014

I booked this cabin for my wife's birthday this past December, and we had a wonderful time! The cabin is constructed in gorgeous cedar, both inside and out. It is well maintained by the owners, and was the perfect place for a "birthday getaway!" When I told the owner it was my a surprise for my wife's birthday, she even put a suprise flower bouquet in the cabin, along with some delicious local chocolates! Lynchburg is in the heart of the beautiful Tennessee mountains, and the cabin is just outside of town. The cabin is spacious as well, and has a great game room downstairs. We are looking forward to returning for another trip to the Lynchburg area, and we wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Response from the owner Thanks, Chris. We look forward to your return visit.

“Absolutely Fabulous --the people are the best ,location, cabin,”

Reviewed 5 Apr 2014

This cabin is beyond a dream. It is all new, beautiful hand hewn cedar inside and out. The bedding, bathroom, and kitchen amenities are top quality. The local history is displayed in the cabin. The cabin made the four of us Iowa senior folk want to stay forever. Our hostess helped with our reservations for each event and gave us great advice about what to do and what time would be best. We were greeted by our hostess and the builder of the cabin when we arrived. They even helped unload our van. We found the surprise of a fire set up in the beautiful outdoor fire place and all the makings for our evening of S'mores. Our hostess and her husband joined us in the evening rain by the fireplace and told us about the cabin and local life. The location is so easy to find and very near the town --right on a paved road with a concrete drive way. There are steps to the huge deck for entry but were not a problem. Don't skip the family style meal at Miss Mary BoBo's boarding house or the tour of the town and the Jack Daniel's Distillery. We would return tomorrow to spend time with these people and enjoy their cabin. This is a once in a lifetime treat with a hostess beyond the best. New and beautiful cabin. (Grass and landscaping in progress but will be fabulous in time. Cows across the road in their pasture kept life feeling like home.)
