19 Blue is a self – contained holiday cottage just 12 minutes drive from Hobart.

Situated in the lovely beachside suburb of Blackmans Bay - 19 Blue makes a wonderful, central base for all your southern Tasmanian destinations.

This fully equipped, modern cottage has all you need for a comfortable stay with a queen sized bed, laundry and kitchen facilities. A full length verandah, running along the front overlooks the organic vegetable garden where you can pick your own fruit and vegetables (in season).

Enjoy delicious, country breakfast ingredients with free range, wood – smoked Cygnet bacon and free range eggs, or enjoy home – bottled fruit with yogurt and muesli. Eat outside in the sunny breakfast spot whilst sipping a cup of plunger coffee!

Your hosts are Judith and Chris Cornish the owner/operators of Live History Productions and well known for their award winning convict dramas Louisa’s Walk and Her Story (Top rated Hobart activity on TripAdvisor!)

Getting around

Whilst it is best to hire a car to get the most of the beautiful surrounding scenery it is possible to enjoy a relaxing stay at 19 Blue by using public transport. The bus stop into the city is just 5 minute's walk away. Once in Hobart, you can connect with local tour companies who will drive you around the sites. The MONA ferry can be picked up from the wharf in Hobart and is easily the best way of going to MONA.

Interaction with guest

We love meeting our guests but if you prefer to simply enjoy your holidays with no interaction we always respect your privacy! When you book, we tell you where to find the key and you can let yourselves in and make yourselves at home. Interaction with us is entirely up to you!

House rules

Whilst we haven't room for children (19 Blue is set up for a single or couple) we can accommodate small babies and we can provide a cot and some toys for infants.

Our apologies about the lack of wifi - we have tried, in the past routing our broadband up there, using an extender, but then guests complained about the weak signal so we decided not to offer it all! We are always happy to lend guests our mobile broadband stick but most seem to use their smartphones to gain access. Glad you enjoyed the birds, they are a passion of ours - we sometimes get Black Mountain Parrots in the trees outside the kitchen window! Happy Travels, Judith & Chris.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Judith (the owner) a message.

If Judith (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
