“Lovely apartment - brilliant view”
We stayed in Sam's Place which is upstairs (fairly steep steps) from andy's Place for two wonderful weeks. Because we were a little way up the hill we had amazing views into St Ives Bay and St Ives Harbour - a comfy chair and a set of binoculars is provided and forget TV - we spent hours watching the comings and goings of the boats in the harbour - it is an excellent plan B if the weather spoils your plans. The flat is great - spacious sitting room with gas flame fire - v cosy on a couple of cool nights we had. Two great bedrooms - beds very comfortable and plenty of storage and open hanging space. We are a family of 4 with one teenage and one nearly teenage daughter. Plenty of space for all - the girls loved their bedroom which opened out to the garden accessed by steps - garden on a couple of level and is small but handy especially for washing line. Nice kitchen well equipped and has dining table for four although can fit five. No dishwasher but no room for that and didn't bother us. Bathroom modern. Had family member stay and used sleeping platform in sitting room - said it was very comfortable - so for a time 5 stayed in flat and still plenty of room. Billy the cat a welcome visitor from upstairs when encouraged - if don't like cats she won't intrude. Centre of St Ives only a few minutes walk down some steep steps - lovely village. Hosts very friendly and answered queries by email straight away - would highly recommend.
Response from the owner Hello Jenny, Joel & girls, Thank you so much for your lovely review of Sam's Place. We're so happy that you all had such a good time in St Ives, and we hope to see you all again sometime. Kind regards, Clare & Neil. PS - and glad that Billy behaved approriately! She is adorable and very well mannered!
“What a brilliant find!”
Never been to St Ives (SI),but the landscape/beach looked fabulous. When friends (they booked Sam's up stairs) suggested we join them - we did. We arrived early to find Neal+Clare repairing a window and cleaning for our arrival - and although we were very early-just finding our way around, they were very friendly and helplful and let us leave our bags to park. We were ob-snacked by the views but the house itself was gorgeous! Clean, spacious, stylish and accented with Neal's quirky wooden furniture. There's nice little outside area with a chairs /table, and upstairs flat (where friendswere) had a lovely stepped garden - more amazing views. Si is a great place to stay-esp for a family (we had 3 kids 10-12 yrs) lots to do/see around + short drives away. (Go to Minack Theatre, Porthcurno. Views breathe-taking + outside theatre amazing) Lots of places to eat-quite spoilt for fish restaurants + diff eateries of various £££. Go 2 Porthmeor beach for bodybording and beach-restaur (modern tappas)- worth expense as easy to just chill with a cider, watch the kids on the beach. Another great find was Hardcore Prawn -middle of the lanes in SI. Amazing seafood /steak - great staff and quite reasonable. Also trendy/funcky bar downstairs. So great week away. Draw backs? Hardly worth it - but parking hard(its a very popular resort) and although we bought a week's parking via the council car park, you were lucky if there were any spaces unless after 6:30pm. Oh + little thing (in flat), if you're short then don't expect to see much of yourself in the mirrors - as they are all mounted quite high. Still you dont have to look at myslef for long - when you have so much to go and investigate... So - no complaints, just smiles and we've booked for next year already!
We stayed in andy's place in June 12 half term, it was a really lovely apartment with two beautiful bedrooms. It had a lovely outside space and the play station went down really well with the kids. views from the bay windows in the lounge were amazing and the apartment had great facilities - washing machine, good size kitchen and dining table. The location was ideal just a 5 minute walk down the hill into St Ives. The owners Clare and Neil were really friendly and helpful as were the neighbours, we couldn't have asked for more.
Response from the owner Thanks for your lovely review Paul...it's always good to get positive feedback. And just to let you know, we now have a new high def 32" TV to boot! Are we tempting you back for next year? Thanks again, Clare & Neil.
“The best view in St Ives!”
Clare and Neil gave us a really warm welcome and advised us enthusiastically about where to go and what to see in and around the area. The flat itself was airy, spotless, well-equipped and had a contemporary but cosy feel. Its position within 10 minutes walk of the town centre and two lovely beaches meant that we could do everything on foot, although a train journey along the coast was a highlight too. Parking space is limited but we did not miss having a car once. The highlights were many ... live music in the pub, good restaurants (Clare and Neil advised us well), walking, mountain-biking, water sports and a fishing trip. However, glass of wine in hand, the stunning view from the bay window overlooking St Ives Harbour, melted away all worries about work and we would return just for that.
lovely space, characterful flat, wonderful views, excellent position for train station and all amenities. All in all a perfect place to stay in St Ives!
“The perfect St Ives holiday apartment”
I can't praise 'Andy's Place' and owners Clare and Neil highly enough. We first visited in 2008 and instantly fell in love - with the property and the hosts! 'Andy's Place' offers fantastic value for money in an otherwise expensive location. The property is perfection - beautiful decor throughout, sumptuous furniture, well placed art, great storage space, modern kitchen with every possible amenity, fabulous views from the lounge, open fire, selection of books and music, close to all amenities and beaches...I could go on. We are a family of three and our son was three years old on his first visit. He loves St Ives and particularly loves his bedroom! It's been great fun watching the bunk bed being hired further off the ground on each visit to meet his needs. We have already booked to visit this year and it really feels like a home from home. Clare & Neil could not be kinder. They don't invade your space but are always a phone call away to help with any support. The offer of free wet suits and a trip to the pub last year was the icing on the cake. Book now before everyone catches on to this place. For now, it's our secret! Chrissie xxx
“Stay at andy's Place”
We have stayed at andy's place twice now and have found it to be relaxing, comfortable and good value for money. The owners were so accomodating and helped make our stay one to remember. This lovely apartment is very suitable for a small family and being just out of town is an advantage because you get great views across the harbour and are slightly further away from the hubbub of the town. It comes highly recommended!
