Description from owner

Description

Sam's Place and Andy's Place are two beautifully furnished apartments situated in the pretty harbour town of St Ives in Cornwall. This listing is for Andy's place.

Each apartment has stunning views from the lounge windows, overlooking the town and out towards Godrevy lighthouse and the Atlantic Ocean.

Just 5 minutes walk from the apartments and you're in the heart of the bustling town, the beaches and the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum.

St Ives is a well know artists' community and there are lots of wonderful galleries to visit.

Additionally to this are the four gorgeous beaches, which surround the town and harbour on every side!

Andy's Place is situated on the ground floor apartment and sleeps up to 4 people, with a double bedroom and a bunk room with 2 built in bunk beds. The bunks are suitable for children over 5 years. This apartment is ideal for families, and has a small back patio with garden furniture, so lovely for sunny al fresco lunches.

Sam's Place is situated on the first floor and sleeps up to 6 people, with one double bedroom, one twin bedroom with single beds that join properly to make a 5' bed - there is no uncomfortable centre join in these beds! The apartment also has a futon in the lounge, and a built in sleeping platform. There is access from the rear bedroom out onto a decked balcony and up to a tiered garden.

Both apartments have been recently refurbished by CH Design to a very high standard.

The apartments can be rented individually or together, and are available all year round.

Parking: There is a long stay car park 50 mts from the flat, and another much bigger one about 5 minutes walk from the flat. It is possible to purchase a weekly transferrable parking permit for Cornwall, which can be used in both of these, and other council owned carparks - 4 of which are in St ives. This permit can be purchased on line via the Council website. For more info please contact us.

Getting around

There are fairly good bus services from St Ives to all of the surrounding towns & most villages. Buses leave from The Malakof, near to the train station in St Ives. Train services: A branch-line from St Erth to St Ives, and trains leave from St Erth to Penzance (South), and all other routes up to Exeter. There is not a good train network in the South-West, so, whilst trains are good for trips to main towns & cities, they are quite slow on not always frequent during the low and mid seasons. There is a company called Oates Travel in St Ives - they can be found in the main street near to Boots chemist. Oates offer good coach trips to Eden project and other places of interest throughout Cornwall.

Our phone numbers are at the flat in our guest manual. We have emergency contact numbers also.

Response from the owner Hi Susan, Thank you very much for leaving us such a lovely review - and of course we are very glad that you enjoyed your stay at our flat in St Ives again. I have noted your remarks about the knives and I will get Neil to sharpen them - we do this from time to time but obviously we haven't done them recently so we'll ensure that it is done. And noted about frying pan...some things in the flat are generally feeling their age after 7 years and this last winter we did re-cecorate and replaced some of the items but we'll have to update some of the pots & pans this winter I think. Thanks again for the feedback as it's so very helpful - we appreciate honest remarks because we can easily forget to check certain things and as we are not there cleaning this summer we won't be able to stay on top of things quite so easily. We aim to keep Andy's Place as clean and fresh as ever. We hope you do decide to come back again some time...the winter is lovely and the storms out to sea can be quite dramatic! All the best, Clare & Neil
