“Spectacular Stay at Lupine Lodge”
We had an excellent and affordable weekend stay at Lupine Lodge; indeed, it was "superior" in all possible categories. The house easily accommodated our group, comprised of three families and including three small children and two dogs. What a wonderful winter playground it offers; skiing, snowshoeing, or simply cozying up to the fire, Lupine Lodge has what you need. The owner, Rick, couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating. You can hear the smile in his voice (no joke!). We look forward to staying here again sometime and perhaps experiencing Lupine Lodge in another season as well!
Response from the owner Patrick, Thank you for your kind, sincere words! We really appreciate you! The pictures and video of the toboggan run you made were amazing and fun to watch. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
Me and my family spent three days here and I recommend it to anyone who truly wants to get away from it all! Very secluded and a beautiful view! Just going out the back door down to the shore line and watching the sunrise as the waves splash against the rocks just took all the stress of everyday life away! A wonderful experience , we loved it!
“Amazing vacation up North!”
Our family stayed at Lupine Lodge and absolutely loved it. The home was spacious, very clean, and included all the amenities you could need. We enjoyed the views of the lake and the beautiful wild flowers. The location was also perfect. We will definitely be back!
“We enjoyed every single moment in Lupine Lodge with nice sceneri”
Great location for get away, and short drive to many of the beautiful scenic spots on the North Shore such as Gooseberry Falls and Splite Rock Lighthouse. Very reasonably priced. Thinking about booking again for next year.
If you want to get rejuvenated, invigorated, or a natural high-then rent a couple of nights, or more up at Lupine Lodge. Rick and Kris couldn't be better hosts. They offer so much that has already been mentioned in the other reviews-most of all they treat you right and with the big lake right there-and I mean right there- you can't go wrong! Book now, as they fill up fast! Jeremiah, a 4 time stayer :)
We had a party of 8 adults stay the weekend and all of us had plenty of room. Everybody was so impressed and well pleased. Large kitchen, large dinning room, large living room and very clean. All bedrooms had a wonderful view of the lake. If you are looking to relax then look no further. Excellent location to sight seeing as well. Thank you Rick and family...we will reserve another stay very soon!
“Very home-like atmosphere...peaceful.”
We enjoyed very much our stay at Lupine. Rick was very helpful with all aspects of accomodations. The house was very well appointed, from advil in the bathroom cabinet, to food in the pantry. Excellent bang for your buck, and situated close to tourist attractions, and a bike trail out the back door. I'd stay there again, and probably will. Only "wish," would've been for a stack of dry firewood for a beach campfire, but you can buy that up the road at the Holiday in Beaver Bay. Great value.
“Weekend Get away”
A perfect place to spend a long weekend with friends. Beautiful and quiet. Of course, lunch and shopping in Grand Marais was nice too.
“Worth traveling for”
Lupine Lodge is an ideal place from which to visit the beauty of The North Shore. The home looks over lake Superior and is close to so many state parks. The bedrooms are comfortable and each has its own view of the water, one as beautiful as the other. The space is large and easily accommodates a nice group of people or a large family. If you are tempted to go out and eat there are a variety of places to choose from. The pressures of daily life melt away and one begins to relax. The living room is stocked with games, puzzles, cards, books and Dvd's for a rainy day. Whenever I have guests from out of town, this is where we go. Lupine Lodge is a wonderful gem on the North Shore and I have stayed here repeatedly. Thankfully, the owners have chosen to share it with others.
“Hated to go home”
I recently spent a long weekend at Lupine Lodge with my family and my parents. Everyone hates to leave when it is time to go home and we all look forward to our next visit. The Cawood's keep the house very neat and with four bedrooms we have plenty of room for everyone. We like to eat our meals at the house, because meals taste better with a view of the Lake Superior. The gentle slope to the lake made it nice for my Dad and my son with special needs to go down to the sea wall. My crew likes to go to Grand Marias for a day trip. I like to take advantage of the great hiking and biking nearby. The Gitchi Gami biking trail is at the end of the driveway. I hiked in three state parks that are nearby; Gooseberry, Split Rock and Tettegouche. My favorite thing is to spend time down by the lake. I start my day by having my morning coffee lakeside and end it with a campfire with the whole family. My only regret is that I do not get to spend more time at this little slice of heaven on the North Shore.
