Description from owner

Description

Upper of two gites. South-facing and, along with the second gite, sharing the same landscaped grounds as the Manoir, maintained to a high standard with the aid of an automatic irrigation system. The property is accessed through electric gates.

The 12m x 6m shared private swimming pool is situated immediately outside the gites in a sheltered area of the gardens. The neighbours are mostly French farmers, as the property is surrounded by unspoilt working arable farmlands, unchanged for centuries.

The grounds contain, amongst other things, a ruined tower and natural springs with black and golden carp and local frogs populating the spring pools. There are ‘resident’ deer that wander the property and offer occasional sightings to the vigilant.

“This Review is for Le Sempesserre where I actually stayed”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2017

Excellent accommodation with everything you want, including disabled facilities. Lovely pool and grounds. Very rural France, as at used to be, before the tourists arrived. St Maurin is a pretty little village, with a very good shop, but unfortunately the restaurant has closed. There are however several good restaurants in area, along with plenty of bastide towns and villages, which are worth visiting.

“Tranquil and beautiful grounds with excellent accommodation”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2013

We have traveled to France quite extensively and the gite was by far and away the best property we have stayed in. Decent sized kitchen with very good appliances, very comfortable living area, both bedrooms were of a good size, with the lovely balcony off the double and the bathroom was fabulous. Service received from the owners pre & during our stay was excellent. The Property is quite remote, car essential, so if you want peace & quiet, it is absolutely perfect.
