Description

Tranquility Cottage is a spacious, fully equipped, shingle-style home surrounded by quiet evergreen woods on Mt. Desert island's "quiet side." It combines comforts you would expect to find in a country inn with the privacy and freedom of a well-appointed private home. Improvements this year include a new dishwasher and smart tvs. Every effort has been made to provide visitors with the components of a memorable vacation.

Tranquility Cottage's 2,000 square feet of space offer lots of room for family and friends to visit and relax. The first floor features a large year-round sun room with seating and dining areas, four sliding doors to the 80-foot wraparound deck with grill, table, and ample seating. There is a master bedroom with en suite full bath, a large dining room, comfortable living room, and very well stocked kitchen for preparing meals. There is also a laundry room and half bath. Upstairs are two roomy pine-paneled sky-lit bedrooms, a large 'rainy day' room supplied with games, puzzles, and adult and children's books, and a bathroom with shower. Fine bedding, towels, soaps, and laundry/kitchen/bathroom supplies are provided.

Tranquility Cottage is a non-smoking, no pet vacation home.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Julie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
