“Great Vacation Home”
We love to stay at the home with our family very clean place it has a private pool, recreation area for kids and my kids loved it. We will love to stay this home again we recommend 100%
Response from the owner I'm glad that you enjoyed my place. Thanks for taking your time to give me an excellent review. It is greatly appreciated David
I had a great stay at this town home. Conveniently located near all the Disney attractions. Loved the gated resort. Overall great experience for our first family trip to Florida. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit Florida.
Response from the owner Thanks for taking your time to review our property. We are glad you enjoyed it.
“Stayed 7 days without an operating washing machine. Was never repaired.”
We arrived at the Disney Dream Villa on Friday, 6/19, and were very pleased initially with the unit. It's located inside a beautiful gated community with a clubhouse, children's play area, and a lovely lake encircled with a walking path. Parking is excellent and only steps away from the rental unit. The villa is very spacious, the kitchen is well equipped with dishes and cooking utensils (it even has a couple of ice packs), and the private splash pool is such a great amenity--especially if you have children. Although we did not need any of the toddler equipment, having a high chair, stroller, and Pack'n Play provided in the unit is a wonderful convenience for traveling parents. My family of four had just driven from St. Pete Beach, Florida after staying there a week for my husband's work conference. I had packed lightly for our cumulative 2 week vacation because this unit was advertised as having a washer and dryer. I had planned on washing our laundry while we were at the villa. On the evening of our arrival day at the unit, I started a load of laundry. The washer filled with water and then completely died. It would not agitate, spin, nor function in any way. It would not even drain the water out of the machine. I had to hand wring the laundry from the washer (unwashed) and place them in the dryer. Then we discovered the dryer doesn't function well either. The dryer vent hose was completely unhooked from the dryer and venting into the laundry room. When I opened the dryer door to check on the laundry, the dryer continued to operate and spin with the door open! (This could be a hazard if children opened the door and stuck their hands into the unit. It could easily hurt them.) When we tried drying 2-3 barely damp pool towels later that night, it took 4-5 continuous cycles, over 2 hours, to finally get them dry. The dryer needs maintenance...possibly a new heating element? We called the unit's owner, Mr. David Lantigua, early the next morning around 9:30-10:00 A.M. to report that the washer would not operate. He did not answer, so we left a voice mail message. By that afternoon, he still had not called back, so we called again. He still did not answer the phone. The next day (Sunday--day 3 of our stay), we then decided to text him about the issue and to ask if he knew where the closest laundry mat was located. He texted back saying the maintenance man would service the washing machine and would call before he arrived. Mr. Antigua never responded about the laundry mat. The maintenance man never arrived that day. After we called again, Mr. Lantigua informed us that the maintenance man would arrive the next day. On Monday, day 4 of our stay, the maintenance man finally arrived late that evening. He re-attached the dryer vent hose and left a note stating parts would need to be ordered for the washer. On Tuesday, we called Mr. Lantigua back to discuss. He failed to answer. We left another message. Mr. Lantigua's wife finally called back many hours later. We voiced our dissatisfaction with the nonfunctioning washing machine....only after much conversation did she then offer to refund any laundry mat money we may have used. We asked for Mr. Lantigua to call us back himself. He never called us. It has been over 15 days, and he still has never returned our phone request, never asked how much the laundry mat costed, nor offer any apologies. We stayed 7 days without an operating washing machine. Although there are plenty of nice towels in the unit, we quickly ran out of clean washcloths, especially when our 3 other family members joined us on day 4. The unit is advertised as having a washer and a dryer. We completely understand that appliances malfunction and may need replacing or repairing, however, 7 days is more than sufficient time to have addressed this issue. Communication was very unsatisfactory and apathetic. We planned this part of our trip solely with the purpose of taking our children to Walt Disney World, our first time ever visiting the park. We did not wish to spend our "magical" vacation time trying to find a laundry mat, driving back and forth there, and staying there for hours waiting to launder our clothing and washcloths. Nor did we wish to spend our time at Walt Disney World trying to contact the villa owner repetitively for assistance. Listed next are other minor issues we encountered but would never have listed otherwise if the washing machine problem had been professionally addressed: (1) On our arrival day upon check-in, we immediately discovered 2, one-inch cockroaches in the kitchen. Both were on their backs. One was dead, one was still alive. (2) The light located inside the pool does not function, which helps to illuminate the water and help to see children when they are swimming beneath the surface. When we asked about this (thinking maybe we just didn't see a switch), Mr. Lantigua said it has not worked in 5 years. (3) Being a former firefighter, my spouse always checks for fire extinguishers when we stay at new places in case of an emergency. The fire extinguisher located in the unit (stairwell) is not charged and has not been serviced in years. (4) We found a half-eaten candy cane in the children's bedroom. (5) A nice dish towel was provided if you needed to hand dry dishes as opposed to using the dishwasher, but not a dish cloth. Be sure to pack one. Again, the villa has a great location, is nicely decorated, is well furnished, and has such nice amenities. We chose the unit based on all of these things as well as the raving reviews about Mr. Lantigua's reported prompt, effecient customer service. The unit is very nice otherwise, but we were very dissatisfied with his communication and lack of concern for our request for assistance. We wondered what would have occurred if the air conditioner unit needed servicing in the 95 degree weather instead? We're just glad it was only the washing machine.
“Perfect place to stay for my family!”
This was a great place for a great price. We have 4 little kids and we really wanted an easy place for us to vacation, this was it! It was clean, beautiful view, and so close walking distance to playground, pool, clubhouse and lake. Convenient to everything including Disney and Seaworld. It was peaceful and not busy even during spring break! We loved it. The heated pool was perfect temp and we paid to heat the splash pool- I'm glad we did our 6 & 7 year old love it! They swam while baby napped- perfect! Bring condiments and handsoap and trash bags as it wasn't supplied. Fyi. We will be back- I'm so thankful it was affordable for a family!
“Still a great place to stay for visiting Disney or nearby”
We rented the Disney Dream Villa in January 2014. As a group of 5 adults and 3 kids we had lots of room in the villa and enjoyed using the pool and walking around the resort. The owner provided playpens, strollers and highchairs to accomodate our 2 kids under 2 which was a great help and all of it was clean and in good condition. It is so easy to check in and the location is great, close to so many restaurants and shopping. The drive to Disney is very short as well. We had been once before in 2012 and will definitely consider it again!
“Great experience - just as described and super easy!”
We stayed at the Disney Dream Villa for 5 nights and enjoyed it a great deal. It is very close to Disney - literally go out of the complex driveway, turn right and about 3 miles later take the exit to Disney World and boom! Target was very close to pickup groceries. Everything was clean and just as described in listings and previous reviews. David is very easy to work with and provides excellent service. It's a great value for the money and I would gladly stay here again.
Disney Dream Villa is the perfect spot to stay if you want to visit all the Orlando parks. You can't get much closer to Disney unless you're on site. It was lovely having a real home to come back to as opposed to a hotel room -- and for less money than we'd pay for a hotel. The splash pool was great, too. We took one reviewer's advice and paid to have the pool heated for us. It was well worth it in November. We would happily stay at Disney Dream Villa again.
“Great value for the money”
We recently stayed at this property, our party had 5 adults and no children. The villa was as advertised, very comfortable, with enough room for all, and everything in working order. The location was ok, not that close to the parks, but fully manageable. Do not expect to walk to bars and restaurants in the area, you will definitely need a car. Items that need improvement: The upholstery in the living room and the carpet were somewhat worn and looked a bit dirty. The TVs (old crts) could be replaced by more up to date flat screens. In general, it was comfortable and a good value for the money.
“Convenient and comfortable!”
My family & I really enjoyed our 6 night stay at Disney Dream Villa. It is clean and spacious in a beautiful setting overlooking a lake. The master bed was very comfortable too! Perfect location to Disney and Universal. 7-11 on the corner was great as we arrived late and needed coffee, milk etc for the morning. Many good restaurants within 5 minute drive. We would definitly stay again. Thank you David!
“Ideal place for families or couples”
This place was fantastic!!! I wish I could find a place like this in every destination I go to. Very clean & secure! The kitchen was very well equipped. Having a washer & dryer was so convenient. Perfect location to visit Orlando & the different amusement parks. Lots of restaurants & stores (grocery, drug store, Target, TJ Maxx, ... nearby. 2 other pools & 2 jacuzzi at the Club House (less than 2 min walk away. They sell Starbucks Coffee & have a pool & ping pong tables at the Club House too. We were 2 couples & we all loved it! David was very patient & also very prompt in answering all my questions. I would highly recommend it!
