Getting around

Shoal Bay village and beach is a short stroll from the house. So walking is the perfect way to visit Shoal Bay. A walk up Tomaree mountain is highly recommended and the foot of the mountain is only a 10 minute walk from the house. To visit other parts of Port Stephens - Nelson Bay and Soldiers Point - there are frequent buses - however you'll probably prefer to take the car. Short drive to Nelson Bay and Soldiers Point. There's frequent buses from Shoal Bay and Port Stephens to Newcastle and the airport.

We can be contacted any time during your stay - and can advise, recommend things to do, places to eat. However, we won't bother or interrupt you unless requested. We are there for you but only as you require.

This was my 2nd stay with this property - the first being back in 2009 and I was just as impressed this time as I was last time. The house caters for everyone; spacious bedrooms, large bathrooms and the open plan kitchen, living and balcony means if you have a small group you can all hang out together in the one place. I've stayed in Winter and in Summer here and both times we used the pool and BBQ. The ping pong table in the garage got a decent workout as well. Very easy stroll to the beach, shops and local pub. The owner Jenni goes out of her way to accommodate you - even texting me the day I arrived to let me know a local restaurant had half price pizza night! Will be back for sure!

Our stay was a great experience. The house is in a great location for access to the beach and other ammenities. It was large enough to accomodate all 10 of us comfortably which included 4 small children, plenty of space for toddlers to play. The owner Jenni was extremely accomodating and ensured we had all the information we needed for a seemless arrival, one week stay and departure. The house is exactly as it is described and pictured. We would definately stay there again, we had a wonderful family reunion with lots of room so that no one felt confined or cramped into a small space. A great location and great owner, thank you so much for helping us achieve a wonderful family reunion !

Our stay at Shoal Bay Riggers was briliant. Although we had really bad rain most of the week, because the house was so close to the beach and cafés we were able to get to were we wanted by foot with the kids every day. The house has everything needed for a vacation and is very big, bright and cosy. I will definately try to come back.

Stayed here a couple of years ago and heading back again next month. The house is clean spacious with kitchen and living perfect for a medium to large size group of friends or a couple of families. Shops, beach, pub and restaurants are all a short walk & shoal bay's very friendly. Highly recommended
