A CENTRAL 140 sqm APARTMENT with 4 ROOMS and parquet in a historic Budapest building near famous CAFÉ NEW YORK. Around the corner you find an old MARKET HALL and everything for your fridge. Even fresh cow and goat milk. The apartment combines good taste and LIFE STYLE on a very high comfort level.
APARTMENT:
We offer you a generous and spacious flat, a unique place that we created for ourself with an magical atmosphere you wont find in any hotel. Its a classic place with heigh ceilings and hard wooden floor, filled with hand picked furniture and original art work. Last century items mixed with modern style ad an extra to your stay. We carefully restored this place and safe its typical old Budapest atmosphere in it. So one can imagine the last century, but also surf with high speed in the internet.
The elevator brings you up to one of the last floor. The apartment got big windows and is filled with light. We added an original Italian Espresso Maker to it, to provide a perfect start for your day in Budapest as well as an sophisticated Sound System from Geneva so you can simply enjoy a unique living experience.

The place is well connected to all other city parts.
The neighbourhood around is full of life, an atmosphere that artists like Pablo Picasso or Cartier Bresson would have loved.
In front of the door you experience Old Europe at is best. So you don´t need to listen to a tourist guide who tells you about the great past and the extraordinary of that place. Its still there.
The historic market around the corner is unique and nowhere else in Europe you find places like this for such a price. Try the home made honey and apricot jam from the farmers who come in the morning together with a fresh white bred or the Hungarian Kifli. Also don´t forget the world famous Hungarian Salami. It goes best with yellow paprika, white bred and fresh butter.
The cheese stand on the right side is outstanding and provides you with home made products and fresh milk. Ask for the smoked cheese.
Bring one of the empty glass bottles from my kitchen and the nice woman (speaks English) will fill it up right in front of you with fresh cow or goat milk.
Opposite the cheese stand you find a place where they sell bred and yoghurt. The yoghurt is the best one I ever tasted in my life. They offer it with rasberries, strawberries, peaches and many other tastes.
Ask also for kefir and turorudi rools - its a chream cheese filled chocolate roll. This one will make your day.
The café Csiga on the corner of the market hall is a good place for a cheap breakfast or a good night beer. Its filled with intellectuals and artists. On the opposite side there is a Gulash restaurant - cheap and great to experience.
Four minutes walk away you can allready enter the famous New York coffeehouse, as big as half a soccer field. But there are other ones around the city who are great too and cheaper.
Just start to stroll throughout the streets and you will love it. To the river Duna you walk arround 6 to 8 minutes. Depends on your speed. In that direction you will find other nice little shops of the neighbourhood.
Dont forget to pack your bathing suits and the best after your arrival is to go to the Szechenyi Fürdo. You can take the tram to Octogon and then change to the second oldest subway in Europe the Földalatti in the direction to Mexico Ut. The station of the thermal bath has the same name like the bath. Its a 15 minutes trip or 6 minutes by taxi. After the first hour in the both bathes, try the Thai Massage for 30 Euro per hour. There are Thai masseuses from Wat Pho in Thailand. You dont get a Thai Massage anywhere else that cheap and good in Europe. Its almost like on the beach of Ko Samui and its very warm on the place they do it. So it feels totally right. After all that get a bottle mineral water out of the machine in the entrance hall. Even better the fresh Orange Juice from another machine, before you leave.
For dinner find out about the Menza Restaurant near Octogon at Liszt Ferenc tér 2. Two people can eat for 30 Euro with drinks. Its really high quality. For the evening its better to make a reservation.

Response from the owner thats nice to hear - people who stay a month know what to say. About the knives I want to tell you a little story. My mother once got a pair of new knifes and they have been so sharp that she almost cut one of here finger of. That was on a sunday morning while cutting bred for breakfast. After that she put all knives into the earth of our garden for a night, so that they will loosen sharpness. I did it with all knifes as well, so that nobody will cut his finger so deeply on a sunday in a foreign city and needs to call a doctor. So sorry for the knives, but better to have a nice sunday without a doctor and may be more work for the gulash .... then beeing you know... Thats is the reason for the knives ... And its true. But beside all that Im happy that you liked your stay and that you had a great time. And we would be happy to welcome you back one day and I will put a sharp knive for you on the table as a present. There are outside roller blinds - sorry I should have told you - you find the strings for them beside the window in an old wooden box (we decided to keep the old classic windows of the apartment and invested a lot of money so that everything stays in the old way - so the strings are in the box beside the window and we got totally new outside roller blinds) Even if you dont find or use the roller blinds there is privacy - the BBA is on the last floor and overlooks all other houses - nobody can look up into our apartment even if the windows are not coverd. You can look down in the other flats but nobody can look up inside the flat - that would be a new physicall challange of light breaking. But I will also take that serious and write it in the using guide of the flat so that people feel good and comfortable. About the carpets I will suggest it as a personal taste. Carpets are nice but they also soak all the dirt from around (shoes, dust etc) and provide a good atmosphere for little germs. So we will not provide any carpet on the floor even if our wooden floor will be suffer after a while. About the echos I will find a solution and might put nice rugs on the inside of the windows - that will be a good idea to solve the echo problem. So once more Im happy that you write me honestly about your concerns of sound and to be seen in the flat. And Im also happy that you still liked the space in the end and if you come back you will find the instructions for how to use the window blinds and some nice rags at the windows for soaking the echos and I will also offer you once again a discount for your stay and also for your friends if they tell me that they are from you.
