“Great place to relax and refresh”

Reviewed 1 Jun 2015

OK, first the harsh reality. This is a trailer park, and a rather "seasoned" one at that. The view from 3 sides is "quaint" at best. Yet, Bill's place is easily the nicest house in the park: clean, new, and comfortable. However (now for the really good part), the view from the back deck of this place is wonderful, as shown in the cover photo. Ocean to the right and a marina to the left. We were here 3 nights: swam, and spent a day in a kayak. It is a quiet location, and perfect if you just want to relax and unwind. There is a fun bar/restaurant just a block away on the water that has a great happy hour. So, unless you are looking for a 5 star resort type experience, this will do nicely.

“Excellent Location - Great Unit”

Reviewed 16 Mar 2015

While this is a mobile home, it is very nicely decorated with a lovely deck. Centrally located in the Keys and just an hour to Key West. We got carry out from the Lazy Days one evening and ate on the deck. The crab cake was delicious and large! One evening we drove down to Key Colony Beach and enjoyed happy hour at the Cabana Breeze - awesome view & outstanding steamed shrimp. If you are looking for quiet and economical, you will not be disappointed in this unit. Plenty of linens, basic necessities in the kitchen, everything is supplied except bath soap. Check-in is at 3 - I missed that and arrived before the unit was ready. But Bill, the owner, responded to my inquiry promptly.

“Hidden Gem”

Reviewed 13 Jan 2015

We spent our annual summer vacation staying at this beautiful "Hidden Gem" in Marathon Key. This place is very clean and has modern décor. There is a large deck for sun bathing or just beautiful views any time of the day. We actually saw fish, stingray, lobster, and shark sitting on that deck all hours of the day. Bill takes a lot of pride in his place and it shows. The kitchen is stocked with cooking supplies and often forgotten items. There is three flat screen T.V.'s throughout and plenty of space for a couple with a child. We love this place and would recommend it to all of our family and friends. We will be returning this year for our annual vacation. :)

“A Beautiful place to stay.”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2014

Our stay in the bungalow was one of the highlights of our Florida vacation. Living in the UK, we appreciated the ease of booking and the excellent communications with Bill. The house is beautifully maintained, spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. It is in a peaceful and friendly community yet still within easy reach of restaurants and all the attractions of the Marathon area. We were able to hire bicycles from nearby and explore the area including the Old Seven Mile Bridge to Pigeon Key. It was a joy to return to the bungalow and the magnificent views from the deck. For us, the bungalow was the perfect base for our vacation in the Keys. Astrid and Ray Schofield.

“Unforgettable Honeymoon”

Reviewed 2 Mar 2014

My husband and I enjoyed a belated honeymoon at this wonderful location. We were within walking distance of many local eateries and attractions. We loved sitting on the deck enjoying the amazing views. We traveled throughout the Keys and this was a great homebase. The home is as nice as the pictures indicate. We are looking for another reason to visit.

“Perfect home, perfect views, & perfect location!”

Reviewed 19 Feb 2014

We vacationed here 2 weeks. The bungalow was very comfortable, it felt like home. The family room and bedroom each have patio doors onto the deck. The deck overlooks a small bay that is part of the Boot Key harbor. Boats go in & out. We saw dolphins come in the bay some mornings and late afternoons plus several other kinds of fish. There are 4 deck chairs for relaxing out there. What you see is what you get for furnishings inside. The front door is on the other end of the house, and our car was parked, in the shade, 3 steps away. We used the laundry building, a short walk down the lane and a mailbox is available there. Marathon Key is ideal, with grocery stores, hospital, churches & gas stations. Sombrero Beach & park was wonderful. Also, we walked to a couple nice restarants, one at the harbor and several others were an easy drive away. The old 7 mile bridge was a short walk away. The sea turtle hospital and the Dolphin Research Center are a must see. This bungalow is neat, clean, and spacious for two or four people. We are already planning to return to this "hide-away" by the sea. William is a gracious host who answered questions via email or phone. It is as advertised!

“Outstanding vacation experience!”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2014

My family and I stayed here for a week during the summer. I was first impressed by how clean and modern the place was. Bill has taken pride in all aspects of decor and amenities, when putting his place together. The back deck over the water is breathtaking, especially certain times of the day. The location is in the heart of Marathon with minimal travel to restaurants, shopping, and boating needs. In addition, he was only a phone call away for any questions or concerns. My family will be returning for our annual stay in the Keys, for years to come.

“Great views of marina, ocean and wildlife”

Reviewed 17 Dec 2013

The views from the deck are outstanding. There are plenty of birds and fish in the shallow cove but you still have a great view of the ocean and the boats coming and going from the marina. We enjoyed coming out onto the deck to find out what we were going to see next! The bungalow was clean and had everything we needed. Bill was very responsive and easy to work with. It was an enjoyable stay and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a couples getaway.

“What a view!”

Reviewed 27 Sep 2013

Our favorite part of the stay was coffee every morning on the deck. The bungalow is very clean. Beds were comfy. More than enough towels. So much better than staying in a motel. I dont think you can find a better place for the price. We really only used it to sleep as we were very busy during the days. The portable a/c units did not cool below 74 degrees during the night, so that may be an issue for some people though after speaking with Bill, he is making some changes to possibly remedy that. You also have to empty water from the units, not a big hassle but could also be considered an inconvenience to some. I would not recommend it to people who are interested in luxury resort type stays. The view is amazing but this is not an area of stylish vacation homes. It is very simple and quaint. We will be back without a doubt.

“Private, personal, perfectly located Island Hideaway”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2013

My wife and I were looking to visit the Middle Keys on our summer vacation but did not want to deal with the experience of a hotel environment as we were looking for something a little more private. The attraction of the Keys is the ocean, so I wanted accommodations as close as possible to this. We decided upon the Ocean Front Bungalow in Marathon. This place is in a cove overlooking the atlantic Ocean. We arrived, went out on the patio, and within minutes witnessed 3 small and 1 large stingrays swim right up to the edge of the water. This was so spectacular to us. These accommodations are less than 1 mile from the famous 7 mile bridge in the area. This place is a home away from home. The décor is updated and the furniture is nice and comfortable. The multiple air-conditioner units pumping out cool air made it enticing to come back to after a long day in the sun. The owner, Bill, was easy to deal with and was attentive to our every need. Thanks Bill for sharing your home. Can't wait to return.
