Description

Welcome to Gulfport Guest Cottage, a cute and comfortable guest house in the quaint and quirky village of Gulfport, Florida. Imagine lovely old oaks covered in Spanish moss, brick-paved streets and cute little colorful cottages. One month minimum.

Our Gulfport cottage is approximately 1000 square feet, and has two bedrooms (one with a queen-sized bed, the other with a full-size bed), one bathroom, an open living room/dining room, full kitchen, and Florida room with bar. The living room sofa can double as a comfortable bed for an extra guest. The cottage has an open floor plan with a great feeling of spaciousness.

Gulfport Guest Cottage is furnished with our own furniture and accessories so that it feels like your own comfortable home. Our recently remodeled kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, serving and entertaining. The cottage has central a/c and heat, ceiling fans, cable television, private parking, spa/hot tub in garden, gas barbecue grill, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, and a washer/dryer onsite. All towels and linens are provided. Wireless internet access is available in the cottage and at several nearby locations, including the coffee shop in the Village.

Our yard is fenced in, and we welcome well-behaved dogs! No extra pet fees or deposits. (We have two small older dogs ourselves that are very friendly.) Sorry, we are not able to accommodate cats or pets other than dogs.

From the cottage, you can easily walk to Beach Blvd. and the Waterfront Arts District where you'll find cute, independent boutiques, art galleries and more than a dozen restaurants in what has become a major dining destination in the Tampa Bay area.

Gulfport has nightspots that offer live music all week long. On Shore Blvd., stroll along the beach overlooking Boca Ciega Bay. Watch the sunset over the Don CeSar in the distance. Gulfport Guest Cottage is just a short walk from the Gulfport Marina and Clam Bayou Nature Park, great for kayaking, strolling and bird-watching. Clam Bayou is part of the Great Florida Birding Trail.

Gulfport also has fun and lively events throughout the year. Art Walks occur on the first Friday and third Saturday evening of each month, with local artists lining the sidewalks of Beach Blvd., displaying and selling their work. Our Fresh Market happens every Tuesday, with more than fifty vendors that offer a variety of foods, bath and body products, arts and crafts, and live music. There are also special annual festivals throughout the year, including GeckoFest, SpringFest, Aquamania!, 4th of July Celebration, Bluesfest, Holiday Hoopla, and the Get Rescued animal-rescue festival.

Just a short drive away, you'll find downtown St. Petersburg, the Dali Museum, the Gulf Beaches, Clearwater, Tampa, Ybor City, and Busch Gardens. Orlando, Disney, Universal Studios and LegoLand are just two hours away by car. Sarasota is a one-hour drive.

We are very familiar with Gulfport and the surrounding area and would be happy to offer information and suggestions during your stay.

Our Gulfport vacation cottage is the perfect home away from home during your visit to Florida's Gulf Coast. It's ideal for individuals, couples or small groups or families. We are not "professional landlords." We just have an extra home on our property that we enjoy offering to visitors. We'd love to welcome you to Gulfport for your next visit.

Getting around

The heart of Gulfport's Waterfront village is a short walk, or less than a two-minute drive. Public transportation in the area is not great, but bus lines are not far from our guest cottage if you wish to use them. Uber and Lyft are transportation options here as are conventional taxis. Within the city limits of Gulfport, try the free GetGo ride service, a six-passenger golf cart-style vehicle. Simply tip your driver.

Interaction with guest

We offer as much privacy as our guests would like. Our own house is in the front of the property, separated by several yards with a leafy arbor and other foliage between much of the two spaces. We are happy to be on hand for anything our guests may need or if they have questions or need recommendations. If we are away while guests are staying, we will designate someone to be on hand for our guests.

House rules

All guests/groups must have at least one adult present. Children are welcome though our guest cottage is not "child-proofed." We can provide a high chair and pack-and-play upon request. Up to two well-behaved dogs welcome. No pet deposits or fees. We simply ask dog-owners to be responsible for their pets. A party/celebration is ok as long as it is limited in size and noise, though please keep in mind this is a quiet residential neighborhood. Smoking only permitted outdoors or in FL room.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Daniel (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
