“Great place to stay for group and family”
Lovely house with full of characters, pool overlooking to 180-degree sea view - great place to watch sunset. Closer to the airport and will take about 45mns - 1 hour to Patong area. The helper can cook fantastic meals if you are lazy to go out.
“Splendid designer villa right across from the beach”
This designer villa works very well for a group of friends or a big family. It is splendid and well equipped. The living area opens on a panoramic terrace which extends onto an infinity pool offering amazing sunset views. The bedrooms, all with en suite bathroom, are very cosy. The villa is conveniently located a few minutes from the airport. Pom is a great host, quick with emails and forthcoming with any information that you would require. He had a great list of recommendations that we followed and thoroughly enjoyed. He also had a rental car delivered to the villa that we let at the airport before leaving Phuket. I recommend this villa and Pom to anyone who would like to enjoy Phutet's many attractions and come back to a calm nest.
“The villa sets the mood for a fantastic getaway weekend!”
The modern, rich design and decor of the Black Pearl set the mood for a wonderful weekend. It's comfortable and secluded to give total privacy, although the downside is the distance to Patong and the south of Phuket, but this is a price worth paying to have the tranquil intimacy and secrecy of the villa.
“Peaceful, relaxing, want to go back tomorrow”
The villa is set right by the beach - just a small lane separating the villa from the sand, used by a few locals riding their mopeds. It has a huge pool, lots of places to lounge. The free wi-fi was very handy as we still had to do a few hours work each day. There is no house phone. There was satellite TV, CDs and quite a few Dvds. The large kitchen has everything you need for self catering. We slept in the bedroom closest to the front door. We had the best nights' sleep. The king size bed was comfortable, nice clean cotton linen, and air con was quiet. The en suite was large but a bit tired. We could have used one of the other two bedrooms both of which have much nicer bathrooms. Plenty of hot water, the shower was spacious and good water pressure so we were happy. The house was kept very clean. Keow (the maid) was lovely and she cooked a couple delicious meals for us. We don't speak Thai so make sure you download an app-very handy! It was nice and comforting having someone living on site. Pak was easy to contact. He helped me organise some of the best massages I've had in ages. We love dogs so having them hanging around us made us feel even more at home. The airport isn't far away so there is a little bit of air traffic noise but not enough to disturb our peace. Don't even think about staying here unless you are prepared to drive. Mai Khao Beach is a bit isolated and unless you are a strong swimmer stick to the pool. Tesco is 15km away, otherwise there are lots of local shops nearby. Phuket Town is about 45km away. The 5 star resorts are up the road and there is a local bar/restaurant a few minutes away. Lots of real local food available. It's the only place we've ever stayed where we want to go back. You must keep in mind that it is someone's home -just like your house is your home. It's not manicured to an inch of its life like a resort. It is someone's beautiful home and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Response from the owner Thanks for staying with us. Also, thanks for sharing your sincere and honest review on this site. We really appreciate it. We are so glad to hear that you love our place and that you want to come back, we will be so much happy to have you stay with us again...so please. We also glad that you are happy with our pet dogs and our maid. Please think of us again when you come to Phuket next time ;D
“Relaxing place close to any place in Phuket”
Very nice private villa, large and clean with a stunning pool and magnificient view on the ocean. Close to the airport and less than half an hour drive from almost all places in Phuket this place is a perfect place to relax with friends and family and avoid the overcrowded areas. If you want to enjoy thai lifestyle including thai food and silence, this place is for you!
I stayed here last year for 6 months. A unique modern house slap bang on the beach with sea views in all directions. An extraordinary location. It really is like living on the brow of a boat. The sunsets are glorious and the beach is spectacular. Some 25 km and not a person in sight. I'd walk for hours most days and see no one. I can't understand why on earth it is not more busy. It's a miracle that it is so unspoilt on an island like Phuket. I originally thought living in such isolation might be a problem, but it's not far to the shops and the beaches of nai yang and naithon. There's also a number of extremely good 5 star hotels dotted along (and hidden) on Mai Khao. Both the Sala, and the JW Marriott are a short drive away. The indigo pearl close by is also excellent. The only negative I can think of is the fact that sometimes the sea here can be too rough to swim in. But then this is not a problem in the dry season and there is always the gorgeous pool overlooking the sea. It's very much an indoor/outdoor kind of property but decorated with exceptional taste. The owners have thought of every possible thing that you could think of. It's very much a 'turn key' holiday home. The kitchen is fully equipped and most definitely a cooks kitchen. There's also nothing nice than watching the sunset and cooking. The staff are also there on hand to help at any time. Both ray and kiaow were a great help. He'll catch some fish straight off the beach for your supper and BBQ any time. In short I loved living here, such a rare and beautiful location.
“Loved the Black Pearl!”
The property is great and was exactly what we were looking for. Private salt-water pool, practically a private beach as we saw few other tourists wandering along it. The house felt secluded but was within walking distance (45-60 min., along the beach) to Sirinat National Park and Nai Yang beach which had restaurants, bars and shops. We rented a car for the month which the property owners helped us book. Pak was very helpful from the start of the booking process right through our stay. The housekeeper was in daily, and she would call Pak for translation if we were unable to mime out what we needed =) The bedrooms, living area and kitchen were wonderfully decorated and air conditioned, although during the day, we turned that off and just opened all the sliding glass doors. The internet access was solid too, which allowed those of us who needed to, to get work done, and let everyone check their email and make skype calls to stay in contact with family at home. We ate out, we ate in, we drove all around Phuket Island, we went elephant riding and visited the gibbon rescue park, we spent a day ocean kayaking and took a Thai cooking course which included a shopping trip through a Thai market for ingredients and we relaxed around the house. We enjoyed everything!
“Beautiful house at the most beautiful beach in Phuket”
We have stayed at Black Pearl in June 2011 for 2 weeks and enjoyed it very much! The location is perfect for a relaxed holiday - away from the crowded beaches and hecticness of Phuket. You really can enjoy the beautiful nature of Phuket. We loved to have a swim in the morning in the beautiful pool. The house has everything you need and is perfectly equiped. The design furniture and the beautiful style of the bathrooms give you all the luxury you need. Khun Pak (Villa Manager) and Khun Kiaw and her husband (houskeeper and caretaker) are really nice people and help you whenever you need them. We really can recommend Black Pearl and we definitely come back!
