“Would highly recommend”
Fantastic location, fabulous staff and beautiful apartments. We travelled here to celebrate my birthday and took on three apartments. #4 #5 & #6. The staff made us welcome, it was convenient to all the amenities, beaches, restaurants and nightlife if required. Each apartment had its own WiFi connection, TV and everything you would ever need. The rooms are cleaned 3 times a week and the settings around are beautiful. It was perfect and very reasonably priced - I have stayed in much worse 4* all inclusive. I can not recommend this place enough and I hope to return again later in the year. Thank you all for making my birthday one to remember.
Response from the owner A wonder way to celebrate special occasions..Bring your own intimate group. We welcome them.
“Not what I expected”
I had booked apartment #6 for 16 nights but decided to check out after 7. The negatives: The apartment complex is located besides (almost completely inside) the Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary which is essentially a swamp/forest. Travelling alone as a single female I did not feel safe coming back to the apartment at night since I had to walk by that very dark forest. Therefore I had to hurry up every day and make sure that I was in the apartment by 6 PM which is when the sun sets in Barbados at this time of the year. My other issue was that none of the windows in the apartment shut properly. The wooden shutters in the living room and glass shutters in the bathroom cannot be shut no matter how hard you try and the outside nets that are supposed to keep mosquitoes and wildlife outside the apartment do not cover the entire window as there is a gap either at the bottom or at the top. The bedroom window also is completely open at the top for about 2 inches with no net whatsoever. Which I found very surprising because they specifically asked us to make sure to close all the windows in the bedroom to save energy because this is where the air conditioning unit is located. Perhaps if they invested in repairing the windows, their electricity costs would go down significantly. As a results multiple small lizards came to visit during my stay and I also endured multiple mosquito bites. Since the air conditioning unit is located in the bedroom, the rest of the apartment is very hot. I had to take multiple showers a day to stay cool. The TV service only worked the first day of my stay and was down during the rest of the week. The service provider came one day and spent an entire morning trying to repair it but left without being able to repair it. The positives: The hotel staff Akielha and Alvin could not have been more helpful and welcoming. That's the only reason I did not give this apartment a lower rating. The apartment is kept clean by the staff (floor cleaned every other day and bed sheets also changed at that frequency). The internet worked well. The apartment is also located at about a 2 minute walk from the Massy superstore and CIBC bank. After a week, I decided to check out and book a hotel that offered a great deal. Thanks to this deal I was still able to stay within the budget that I had planned for this trip but most importantly I had a fabulous and relaxing remaining 9 days. I plan to come back to Barbados at the beginning of December but will stay at a hotel. If I decide to book a rental, I will make sure to visit it first while on the island.
“Home away from home but absolutely stress-free.”
We spent nearly 2 wks(a long time for us) at this serene and welcoming place yet we couldn't bear to leave it.The owners and manager did everything possible to make our stay memorable and awesome. We were invited to events which enabled us to experience and enjoy the true Bajan flavor...cuisine,music and friendly entertaining people who make us smile even now when we remember them.I was in an upstairs apt but because of an old injury I had problems climbing the stairs but the owners were so accommodating that they made me switch to a downstairs apt without any fuss. The accommodation was excellent. The apartments were clean and reeked of C'bean taste and pride.Being 'clean freaks',we were in our element. If anyone wants a true vacation where you enjoy all the amenities and experience the real Bajan life, then Gentle Breeze is for you and your family/friends.You are close to everything-groceries,beaches and so much more.Gentle Breeze is the place you visit to rejuvenate the mind, body and most importantly, the spirit.
Response from the owner Thanks so much for a lovely review . You and your wife remain among our favorite guests. We strive to make Gentle Breeze a home away from home...and as you say, without the stress. Looking forward to having you return. You will find the same quality of service as well as new improvements. Jackquelynn
