Our newly remodeled and updated 3 bedroom private home with enclosed yard is located in Oceanside Village in Surfside Beach, a 175 acre beachfront resort at the south end of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The resort includes 24-hour security and family-friendly features, including a private beach area with restrooms , 3 regular pools (one heated indoor), 3 kiddie pools (including a splash waterpark), hot tub, playground, recreation area, fishing lakes, library, fitness center, beachfront restaurant, and more!
Oceanside Village at Surfside Beach is the ideal vacation place for families - on the beach and close to all the activities that Myrtle Beach offers, yet away from all the noise, traffic and late-night partying of downtown Myrtle Beach.
Our vacation home is centrally located in this beachfront resort - about 300 yards from the beach, and 100 yards from the pools and recreation area. It is an easy walk from our home to any of the facilities, and a free shuttle comes by every 30 minutes to make it even easier to explore the 175 acre resort.
WiFi Internet is included in the rental. The full kitchen includes a dishwasher, full-sized refrigerator, stove, microwave, and all cookware and tableware. Full-sized clothes washer and dryer are also included in home.
The resort has its own private beach area, complete with showers and restrooms. The three pools (one indoor) each have kiddie areas. The Splash Waterpark is a fun place for younger children.
Some of the other amenities are a community center, library, fitness center, tennis, volleyball & basketball courts, softball field, horseshoes and Bocce, child's playground and fishing - all which can keep your family busy without ever leaving the community. Everything (except the Fitness Center) is free - and the fitness center is only $25 for the week.
Go to the local snack bar for an ice cream break, or dine at the oceanfront cafe. Use our bikes or golf cart to tour Oceanside Village (kids love the freedom of riding their bikes while exploring this secure gated community). A free shuttle bus also makes stops throughout the community. The beachfront restaurant is a relaxing place to wind your day down.
For even more water fun, spend a day at the nearby WATER PARK - less than one mile from Oceanside Village. Several nearby companies offer tours, rental kayaks & jet skis, para-sailing, deep-sea fishing, and other fun activities (one in which younger kids take a sailing adventure where they fight off a pirate ship with water cannons). Nearby is also The Pier at Garden City, where local bands play every evening all summer long and its FREE. You are also 3 miles north of Murrells Inlet - the Seafood Capital of South Carolina, and the marsh walk is a great place to spend an evening with the family watching the wildlife and the shrimp/fishing boats returning to shore. So much to do rain or shine!
Family Vacation Critic listed the Myrtle Beach area as one of the top beaches for 2014, describing it as a "distant cousin of Disney World, with plenty of restaurants and an abundance of family-friendly attractions," They are right - there is no way you or your family can become bored with the hundreds of activities in the area, including dozens of live shows, several theme parks, water parks, zoos, and more.
Also, Myrtle Beach SHOPPING is everywhere - Outlet Stores, Gift Stores, Flea Markets, and even those cheesy tourist places (very fun to browse).
The GOLF ENTHUSIAST can find anything he/she wants in one of the hundreds of golf courses in Myrtle Beach - the golf capital of the world. But, you don't need to go far to enjoy a game of golf - across the street is a lighted 18-hole Executive Course and award winning Driving Range. It also has 9 holes of Disc (Frisbee) Golf and 36-holes of Jamaican themed miniature golf.
If you want a CULTURAL EXPERIENCE, Brookgreen Gardens (a couple miles south) is a National Historic Landmark with the most significant collection of figurative sculpture in an outdoor setting by American artists in the world (hint: Brookgreen is also fun for kids with Fairy tale houses scattered throughout, a petting-farm, and a zoo of local wildlife). Brookgreen Tickets are also good for 7 days - so you can make several visits during your vacation. You can also take a day to drive to Charleston to enjoy the charm of this historic city. While there, visit one of the many restored plantations and/or visit Fort Sumter where the Revolutionary War began (lots of other historic sites, too!). Savannah (another enjoyable place to visit) is just a short distance past Charleston.

“Relax, and unwind!!”
My family enjoyed there stay and felt at home. The home was very clean and well kept! The neighbors, and everyone we encountered in this gated community were were very friendly! The Private beach was nice, as well as the indoor pool! If we visit Myrtle Beach again I would love to stay there again!!
Response from the owner We are glad you enjoyed starting at our home!
The house is gorgeous, and plenty of room for my family. The location is near the beach, and all of the commodities the community has to offer. My children had a blast on the rental golf cart available with the property, and even on the bikes. In the house, there's everything you need. It is plenty spacious, and it is decorated very nicely. It's a wonderful home away from home, and we'll definitely go again!
“Myrtle Beach Fun!”
Just like their website says, we had lots of "Myrtle Beach Fun" staying at this rental. They are a nice distance away from everything in the community. Only a few blocks away from both community pools and the beach! House has plenty of space. Even though it says 3 bedrooms there's a sunroom that also has a futon couch. Very well kept up and owners are extremely nice!
“It's a great little spot.”
Me and my family had a wonderful time at this spot. We stayed for a week and could have easily stayed longer. This house had more than enough space for me, my wife, my daughter, and our couple of friends who tagged along. And we never felt like we were getting too much in each other's way. The place might have been a little bit further from things like Broadway at the Beach or downtown than we would have liked, but this also meant that the area was less touristy and more home-like, which helped in the comfort level. Plus, being so close to Murrell's Inlet gave us an excuse to finally visit that area and now I can't understand why we never went over there before. Altogether we had a wonderful time. The private beach area was very nice, and the home itself was much more comfortable than any hotel room for the price. I'd highly suggest it.
