“Beautiful Cabin that could with some easy fixes be a 4-5 star re”
The cabin is beautiful and cozy. The beds were really comfortable and the hot tub was wonderful and so easy to use. The location is perfect. Firesign Cafe is around the corner and has the best breakfast food. All North Tahoe ski areas are close by. Some things that are worth mentioning that were disappointing but are also very easily fixed: 1. There is no microwave (and it states there is one) This is very annoying when wanting to reheat drinks and food) 2. The entire place is very very poorly lit. Seems minor but it was an issue. 3. The couches were extremely uncomfortable and cushions are some kind of animal fur that is itchy and gets all over your clothes, also causes you to slide off cushions. 4. All the fur throughout the house. 2 black bear rugs and cowhide rugs all over-I guess this is a personal preference but found it to be too much. 5. Ants throughout the downstairs bathroom and kitchen. Overall this is a very clean and architecturally beautiful cabin.
“Great little cottage!”
The house is nicer than it looks in the photos on the website. The kitchen is well equipped too. Our only complaint was the lack of proper lighting above the stove. Other than that we loved it and will definitely book again.
“Lives up to previous excellent reviews and more”
Coffeholics, bring your own coffee pot! The one there is indeed a tiny, flimsy two cupper. Otherwise the place was fantastic for a family with adult children on a ski trip. The location is 4 star in my opinion only becuase there is not much within safe walking distance in the winter time due to darkness and the snow on the bike path. There is plenty within a 10-minute drive however, including a good grocery store.
“Wonderful Tahoe cabin”
Our stay at Sunnyside Cottage was wonderful and the cabin was a happy surprise. We were very impressed with the design of the cottage and its proximity to wonderful restaurants. We will definitely come back to Sunnyside Cottage.
“Magical little home”
Our stay was exactly as indicated in the description. I had searched with many other agencies and on my own and was so glad I picked Tahoe Getaways. They have excellent customer service. The house we rented was so perfectly done. Not one thing was missed when designing this beautiful home. I would describe it as Ralph Lauren with a hipster twist. Totally child friendly too. The only detail I would suggest is oven mitts and the option for more lighting.
The most perfect cabin for a weekend getaway. Cozy, luxurious, warm and a short drive to anything you'd need!
“Lovely home, and a trouble-free stay”
Our Sunnyside cottage was gorgeous. Especially enjoyed the outdoor hot tub under the stars. It was conveniently located and very beautifully landscaped. The rental company was very anxious to make sure that our stay was all that we hoped for. Great vacation!
Nice little cabin - perfect for 4-6 people, though it will accommodate up to eight. Beautifully appointed inside and very nice garden/eating/lounging area outside. Good hiking (Tahoe Rim Trail) nearby. Quite location within walking distance of the lake, but sheltered from Highway 89 noise. Dog-friendly (though we didn't have dogs). Nice clean hot tub.
“We had a great time in Tahoe!”
Sunnyside Cottage was a wonderful place to stay for our week in Tahoe. It was very near Tahoe City. It was in a great location that was near the lake, grocery store, and restaurants. The beds were super comfortable and the hot tub was nice. The cottage was very clean and well taken care of. We had four adults and a dog for the week and space was sufficient. There were just a few picky changes that could have made it a five star. Being from the South, we expected air condition and there wasn't any. (We didn't think to ask about it). The mini coffee pot only made two cups at a time, the towels were well used, and the couches were extremely firm. It would have been nice to have a microwave. However, we loved our stay and are already planning our return trip. We had a wonderful time! Tahoe is beautiful!
“This cabin is awesome!”
The cabin is solid, strong and secure. The design and decoration are first rate and a perfect example of the "Tahoe" style. The kitchen was great if you like to cook and "eat in." The beds were very comfortable, sheets, towels etc.. were great! Tv and internet worked fine too! We enjoyed the very peaceful stone patio with nice gas grill, hot tub, comfy furniture and nice landscaping. We found the location to be very convenient for many activities. The home is off the main hwy.(quiet) and the neighborhood seems to be more permanent residents than rentals. The West shore and generally northern area of the Lake seem to be less commercialized than the South shore area. This area is not full of high rise casinos and fast food restaurants. Very relaxed and easy pace. Nice selection of local bakeries, shops and restaurants with excellent food. Two things I will mention that are not negative, but I think worthy of noting: 1. The stairs to the loft bedroom are quite steep and narrow (anyone kinda large or unstable on their feet would probably not want to plan on using the loft) and 2. as is clearly stated in the cabin info...there is only one shower; again, not a negative, just something to consider when thinking about daily necessities. One bonus, especially if you are a dog lover, is the pair of large chestnut dogs that occasionally visit the cabin. They are by no means a pest or intrusive, they are just the most gentle, adorable dogs you'll ever encounter. Our teenage daughters were disappointed if the dogs did not visit when we returned to the cabin after a day enjoying the lake, rivers, and mountains. Basically we were 100% satisfied with every aspect of the cabin and the rental companies prompt and easy correspondence. We fully recommend this cabin. It exceeded our expectations!
