- Very Good
We were extremely impressed with the cleanliness of Cross Creek. The location was a little tricky to get to with GPS, but we made it finally!. The privacy of the hot tub on the front deck was wonderful even with the winter landscape. Slopeside shares a driveway and was a little noisey but overall our stay was relaxing and wonderful! The coin hunt was fun!
“Relaxing and quiet”
The cabin was cute and clean. Tucked into the woods it was very peaceful and quiet. A nice get away from a crazy busy life.
Liked all especially the hot tub. Clean facilities and cabin. Missed having a dishwasher, but other than that .....all the conveniences of home. Great fun in the creek in front of our cabin.
Response from the manager Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your stay with us. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope you will return in the near future!
“Of mice and men”
First of all, the home site was terrific. very tranquil and relaxing area. The service was good, and the Hot Tub was awesome. The house wasn't dusted very well. I became the great mouse killer the first night. Got 2 of them. pretty proud of myself. I thought the wife would be proud of me also, but that wasn't quite the case. She didn't get much sleep after that. Didn't catch any the second night, wasn't quick enough. Don't know if I'll be back. Mike Knox
First, the pros--- the cabin was warm, clean, inviting & charming. I loved the porch and porch swing and the creek running in front of the cabin. It was easy to find, fairly secluded, yet in close proximity to many area attraction such as Rock House and Old Man's Cave. We enjoyed spending time in the hot tub after a day of hiking and horseback riding. Now, the cons--- the cabin is smaller than it appears in the pics (which I don't think is a big deal since we weren't spending alot of time in it anyway) and the hot tub shares a wall with the downstairs bedroom which, in effect, sounds as if you are sleeping in a jet engine. The hot tub cycled on and off ALL night and I was literally unable to sleep a wink. I finally got up at 2:30 am and drove 2 hours home so I could get a few hours sleep. In summary, we will definitely be returning to Hocking Hills and are very happy with the service we receieved at Old Man's Cave Chalets. We would be happy to rent from them again, but we'd definitely choose a different cabin and make sure the hot tub didn't share a wall with the bedroom!
“Great time at Cross Creek”
Cross Creek cabin at Old Man's Cave Chalets is a ture Get Away cabin. You could not see the cabin from the road, but once down the drive, around the ben and over the creek there it was at the edge of the woods. You can step right out the back door and into the woods. You can set on the front porch swing or in the hot tub there and look out over the creek. Inside is beautiful with the hardwood floors, log walls, fireplace, skylights and rustic furnature. The loft bedroom is very large and the other bedroom is a nice size also. The location of the cabin is great for getting to Old Man's cave and other sites in the area without a long drive. I highly recommend going to Conkles Hollow and the Rock House while in this area. Our vacation there was one of the best experiences that we have had in a long time and we are planning on going there again. Jenny and Charlie Alexandria, Ohio
“cozy cabin in the woods!”
Very Clean hoome. Was the perfect size for the three of us. The fireplace was a bonus on a cold night.

“We enjoyed a quiet, lovely setting for our get-a-way weekend.”
Cross Creek was a delight! It was everything we had imagined and more..the seclusion and wildlife, the darling cabin with the loft, hot tub and fireplace...we wanted to just stay put. The trails were not far away, and Grannies was close for incidentals. We are already talking about when we can return. We had enjoyed the A-Frame before, but found Cross Creek to be even more enjoyable and relaxing. The staff was very friendly, and when we needed clean towels..no problem..even gave us more than was needed. I am a grandma and stayed with my daughter and 2 young grandchildren..ages 5 and 8. They enjoyed exploring the creek and taking nature walks down the wooded drive. There was plenty of entertainment for them when not on the trails. The cabin was decorated in a comforting/relaxing theme. My granddaughters read the journal left by previous tenants and soon were on the prowl for the hidden coins in the cabin. This kept them busy while we unpacked. The only bad thing is that there was no phone service...cell phones did not work. Perhaps the office could sell phone cards and make the renters aware that the in-cabin phones are only for local calls. It is probably in the paperwork somewhere, but I did not read the entire form. Anyhow, it was no problem..we just stopped at Grannies and purchased a phone card for $5.00 that gave us 100 minutes.
Response from the manager Ms. Rickets, We so enjoyed reading your story about your stay at Cross Creek. How wonderful for you to be able to spend quality time with your grandchildren. We have taken your suggestion and will now have phone cards at our front desk for your convenience. Thank you so much for booking your stay with us. We hope you will come to see the Fall colors or for the Winter Walk in the beautiful Hocking Hills.
