Description
Annie's Cottage, Armoy with its half-door is situated on a quiet country road, three miles from the village of Armoy and five miles from the bustling sea-side town of Ballycastle. This comfortable cottage is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With its own large garden, it sits on an idyllic elevated site and enjoys magnificant panoramic views of Knocklayde, Glenshesk and even The Sperrins can be seen thirty-five miles away. Mid-way between The Giant's Causeway and The Glens of Antrim, with its cosy lounge and warm open fire, Annie's cottage is an ideal nook for a break away from it all, summer or winter. This holiday cottage can accommodate 4 people and a baby.
Annie's Cottage is the perfect base as it is within a half-hour’s drive of the “must see sights” that the Antrim Coast has to offer- The Giant’s Causeway, Bushmills Distillery, Dunluce Castle , Whitepark Bay, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Ballintoy, Ballycastle and the magnificent Nine Glens of Antrim, fabled in legend and song. The picturesque seaside towns of Portrush and Portstewart and the shopping towns of Coleraine and Ballymena are also within easy reach. The unique villages of Cushendall and Cushendun situated at the foot of the Glens mustn't be missed. The area offers a wealth of activities for all ages, including golf, tennis, fishing, horseriding, scuba diving, boat trips around the coast, go-carting, archery and you can even learn to cut peat. The landscape, wildlife, history ,geology and, most of all, the hospitality and "craic" bring visitors back again and again as there is so much to do and so little time to do it all.Come and see for yourself! “Annie’s cottage”
What a fabulous retreat! Stunning views and complete quiet. I thoroughly enjoyed this cosy and well equipped cottage with its stunning views over the glen. Quiet and secluded but perfectly located for the beautiful North Antrim coast (only 5 miles away). I was able to comfortably visit all the major sites. Great support from Roisin and Charlotte. Highly recommended.

Response from the owner Thanks so much to Greg Eiler for such a positive review. Charlotte (newly christened "Connie" by Mr Eiler!!) my manager , strives to make the guests welcome and comfortable. It was a pity that the Eiler family didn't have longer to stay and savour our magnificent coast and lovely walks. We hope you will return! Best wishes. Roisin and Charlotte.

Response from the owner Thank you for your review . I'm glad you liked the cottage. You brought to my attention a few issues which no other guest has mentioned in the other reviews which have all been very positive. All of the property owners in our spectacular location on a mountainside find that they have to open a window very slightly when the fire is first lit to help the draught. All is fine after a few minutes when the fire reddens. As you, the reviewer, live in a warm country, I wouldn't expect you to understand the idiosyncrasies of open fires! The condensation sometimes caused by the central heating which is on a time switch throughout the winter might have caused some mildew spots in a corner but I must say that I have never detected a mouldy smell in either bedroom. Our northern climate does pose challenges in the winter when the cottage is not always occupied. The manager has checked the washing machine which was new last year and she cannot find any problem, so that is puzzling. I hope you enjoyed your trip despite the ups and downs of a stay in a cold country in the depths of winter.
