“It is a beautiful large home in an ideal location.”

Reviewed 19 Sep 2013

We rented this home for a cousin reunion. There was enough space for us to spend time together, but also many areas to break up into smaller groups or to be alone. The kitchen was quite large so some of us could cook together, play games on the island, or dine at the conference size table. Our only complaint was that the house needed a larger water heater. For many of us our showers turned cold quickly. We also reported that the oven door did not close completely.

“Huge Home”

It was the perfect place for a large group! We loved the kitchen, with plenty of area for playing cards, and board games. Great Family Gathering!

“Comfort and serenity at Dollar Point”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2012

Our stay at 140 Mammoth was wonderful. The home is spacious, clean and functional. We felt very at home there. It would have been nice to be a little closer to the beach, but we improvised. The staff at the office was brief and to the point and let us know that we could contact them should we need anything. We love the neighborhood. It was a pleasure to wake up surrounded by Tahoe's natural beauty, with small glimpse of the lake (that can only be seen really from the master bedroom). The recreation center was convenient for morning swims, and the path on the main highway was readily accessible for morning runs as well. The stores (supermarket, CVS, coffeehouse, and local gym) were just a 5 minute drive away and made errands a breeze. Sand Harbor Beach is also just a 25 minute ride away. We liked the home location, beach, master bedroom and kitchen the most. We disliked not having the beach within walking distance, losing hot water in the shower so quickly, and no backyard. Also, next year we will likely go with something that has a full lake view if possible.

“Great family retreat!”

This house was a perfect fit for our needs! The lower level accommodated our family (a couple with two young kids) while my husband's parents took the master suite on the top floor and his brother and expecting wife took the master on the main floor. The sound separation between floors and the second living area on the lower level came in really handy when the kids were up at 6 am. The kitchen is fabulous and the deck is lovely. The HOa amenities are fabulous (private beach/picnic areas and pool). We were there in May, so we paid an off-season rate, but lucked out with weather in the 70's the whole week. Definitely got our moneys worth! Our only complaints are very minor - the dining room chairs were not very comfortable, the coffee maker was only a 5-cup machine (for a house of this size??), and there was no furniture on the deck (but this might have been too early in the season for them to put out the summer furniture). But this was all very minor compared to all of the pluses :)

“Best Christmas Ever!”

Reviewed 14 Jan 2012

This home is breath taking and more than what we had expected! The pictures do not do it justice! The process to rent the home was easy. We spent Christmas in the home and asked if it was ok to bring a tree and they were very accomadating. The home has many amenities like highend appliances, heated floors, beautiful dishes, linens, spa like showers, spacious rooms, two kitchens and gorgeous bathrooms. It has a great layout for multiple families, was very clean and had comfy couches, a toasty fireplace, an upstairs laundry room and a wine cellar. The home is located about 15 minutes away from Squaw Valley which was perfect for us. Safeway is about 5 min away and Redbox & Seven Eleven are nearby. The lake is a short drive away where there are plenty of restaurants & a Savemart. This was our first time at Squaw Valley for Christmas,it was beautiful. Christmas Eve they lit up the mountain with red torches, and the ski school came down the mountain with Santa and lit a bonfire. There were carolers strolling & Santa was available for free pictures it was priceless! The ski slopes were empty Christmas day, we paid for group lessons for our children, they got private lessons as there were not enough children for groups. The home is very conveniently located, the neighborhood is great, nearby homes are gorgeous. There was no snow this Christmas however there was plenty of man made snow at Squaw so it all worked out. Two things I would recommend, window coverings on the first floor and access to the home alarm. One night someone was looking in the windows and scared our children, they were at the wrong house and apologized. After that incident we would have felt more comfortable with access to the house alarm as they did have one. We called to ask for access however the owner was out of town. We had an amazing stay and our children could not stop talking about how it was the best Christmas ever!!We definitely plan on coming again!

“Beautiful space; great layout; poorly stocked not fully function”

Reviewed 12 Jan 2012

The house has a perfect layout for multiple families. We had 6 adults and 2 children stay there for a week. Checkin and checkout were really easy with Tahoe Getaways and we appreciated having the key in a lockbox so we didn't have to keep track of it. There was plenty of space for everyone and it was nice to have a bedroom with 2 twin beds for the kids. The location is great with a short walk to the lake and easy access to towns with grocery stores and equidistant between Squaw and North Star. It's a great space but it's not all usable enough due to lack of dish towels (only 3 provided), lack of decent sized coffeemaker (see photo - the coffeemaker basically makes 2 cups - odd for such a large house), not enough kitchen utensils, dull knives in the kitchen, the downstairs kitchen had no pots pans dishes in it, there were old pieces of breakfast cereal under one of the couches downstairs (ew!), both fireplaces were not functional, the wifi is flaky and required calling someone to open a door to power cycle the router, the house's a/V system is fairly complex and there were no basic instructions for how to play music or manage the speakers or play Dvd's.

“Great Stay!”

Wonderful home, very welcoming, clean, inviting and spacious. The home is large enough to accommodate a large family, while providing everyone their own space if needed. Tahoe Getaways was very helpful, fielding all my questions promptly. Would highly recommend this home and renting through Tahoe Getaways again.

“liked the spaciousness and updates in home”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2011

We found this home to be clean and met our needs very well. The separate levels allowed privacy while the living space was large enough for us to enjoy being together. The staff at Tahoe Getaways was accomodating.

“Everyone was happy!”

The house was amazing. We had all the conforts of home. Only 2 complaints, 2nd floor master bedroom the sheets had hairs on them and the beautiful wood floors need to be mopped a little better.

“Easy”
