“Great location - close to everything”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2013

A fabulous flat, with everything we needed including the WiFi (my son's greatest need!) The perfect location for sightseeing - everything is on the doorstep. Large rooms, comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen for when we did chose to eat at home rather than the local restaurants. Great views from the bedroom windows.

“Excellent!!”

Loved this apartment!! We were in Edinburgh for the Military Tattoo and this apartment was literally just around the corner from the palace. Such a great location!! The apartment was tidy and modern but a very royal old time feel in the bedrooms (deep colours, really big bed, thick curtains) - would definitely recommend!!

“Very central and much better than a hotel”

Reviewed 2 Sep 2013

Flat is nicely presented but could do with the crockery and glassware replaced with better quality items. It's in a great central position which is fantastic for getting to shows but on the downside it's pretty noisy at night and you really need to shut the windows to sleep. There are 68 stairs up to the flat so you don't go out if you don't have to and it wouldn't suit anybody with mobility issues. Having said that, we found it really flexible to have an apartment rather than stay in a hotel. Especially good to grab some toast at the end of a hard days Fringe and you can watch the fireworks at the Tattoo from the rear window (half past ten and again at 10.45). All in all we will definitely get an apartment again and wouldn't hesitate to use Edinburgh Self Catering who met us at exactly the right time to hand over the keys.

“Centrally located, nicely furnished, very helpful owner - would”

Reviewed 2 Mar 2013

The flat is in the thick of things - located just a short walk from Edinburgh Castle, a few flights of stairs from Princes Street Gardens (there are a lot of stairs in Edinburgh, which adds to its charm), and close to restaurants and bars. The flat is very nicely furnished and equipped, has a real charm of its own, and we'll definitely use it next time we're in Edinburgh as it was cheaper and far nicer than staying in a hotel. The owner (Dave) is also great, and he let us check into the flat far earlier than was stated, which got our stay off to a great start.

“Awesome location and apartment!”

This was a great apartment. Clean, perfectly located, stylish, wonderful. Up several flights of stairs, but not a problem and we were aware of that before we rented from the description, so all was good.

“Great place to stay!”

Me and my friends loved this place. The rooms are beautiful and cosy and the apartment is absolutely centrally located.

“Trip with our dad”

Reviewed 8 Jun 2012

This apartment was absolutely perfect. It was in the heart of Edinburgh and a 5 minute walk to the castle. We loved the location and the apartment itself was very stylish and clean. We would definitely stay here again and encourage others to stay here as well. There was only one disadvantage and that was a 4 flight climb for our Dad, otherwise perfect.

“A really lovely apartment”

Couldn't have asked for anything better. The apartment was wonderful and it's location means that in minutes you are in the heart of the Royal mile. It was a perfect base for us and we would definitely go back next time we goto Edinburgh

“Perfect Location - great value”

If you want to be within walking distance of all of Edinburgh's historic attractions, this is a great choice. It is literally half a block from the Royal Mile. We walked to the castle, Holyrood palace, the Scott Monument, etc. The airLink bus from the airportwill drop you off at Waverly Rail Station and then it is a short walk up the hill, no need to rent car or get a cab. My husband and I stayed with our 16 year-old son and it was nice for him to have his own room and a living room, instead of cramming into a hotel room. Great value for the price, also. We were very satisfied and would highly recommend. The only two cautions I would add are 1) that you need to be OK with going up the stairs (there is no elevator) and 2) this is a city setting and there is noise from the traffic and other Edinburgh visitors having a good time.

“Excellent location, really good apartment.”

Brilliant location for a short stay - emtres from Cockburn Street/Grassmarket/Castle etc. Apartment was laid out and furnished really well. Really spacious and comfortable. The only quible is in the standard of the kitchen - utensils, glassware, crockery, pans - lots of broken, chipped items. Aside from that highly recommended.
