Description
The apartment is located in the municipality of Dietroserra Viagrande, about 1 km from the village, at the foot of Monte Serra, in the context of a traditional Sicilian house, situated in a beautiful Mediterranean landscape. It offers a picturesque view of the sea from Taormina to Catania, overlooking the eastern slopes of Mount Etna. A few meters from the holiday home is the Museum of Etna that allows you to know the world and the history of volcanoes through photos, theme rooms, multimedia and 3D representations. In a few minutes you can reach the picturesque seaside resorts characterized by sandy lava rocks (Acitrezza, Acicastello, etc..) And the cities of Acireale and Catania. In a short time you can reach the volcano Etna, where guided hikes, and the beautiful Taormina. Behind the house lies the Monte Serra Park which offers nature trails, visits to the Butterfly House, entertainment for children, educational workshops and ski and tubing. Worth noting is the Ottobrata Zafferanese, important trade and cultural which takes place every Sunday of October in the historic center of Zafferana (about 9 km. From the holiday home). The protagonists of each Sunday are the typical products of the earth, and their derivatives: grapes, wine, mustard, honey, apples and seasonal fruit, walnuts, hazelnuts, chestnuts, pistachios, mushrooms Etna etc. ..
A large space is dedicated to handicrafts.
Equipped with every comfort the apartment Dietroserra is the ideal place to enjoy your relaxing immersed in nature. It is composed of a large living room, kitchen, one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and two bathrooms. The house has central heating, is well furnished and attention to detail, can accommodate up to 6 people.
Guests can enjoy the large outdoor space with barbecue and parking, the pool. The use the swimming pool is seasonal. Taking into account the weather conditions we usually open it in April and we clouse it in October. What is more the use of the swimming pool is to be shared with any guestes of the second holiday home.

Children up to two years old are free of charge.
In order to confirm the reservation the costumer is asked to pay the 30% of the total amount as a deposit.
The rates are inclusive of all costs, including the consumption of electricity, water, gas, heating, etc.
The tourist tax established by the Municipality of Viagrande is due.
The setting is determined in 1 euro per person, per number of nights, for a maximum of 7 nights.
Minors up to the age of 12 and over 75 are exempt from paying the tourist tax.
The payment of the tourist tax must be made directly to the manager of the accommodation, except in the case that the intermediary provides.

Dal 3 al 5 Febbraio a Catania si festeggia la festa di Sant' Agata, patrona di Catania, festa patronale tra le più belle al mondo, tre giorni di culto, devozione, folclore, tradizioni. Festa che attira ogni anno sino a un milione di persone. Il primo giorno è riservato all'offerta delle candele. Una suggestiva usanza popolare vuole che i ceri donati siano alti o pesanti quanto la persona che chiede la protezione. Questa prima giornata di festa si conclude in serata con un grandioso spettacolo di giochi pirotecnici in piazza Duomo. Il giorno successivo si svolge la processione per le vie della città. In quattromila o cinquemila trainano la pesante macchina. Tutti rigorosamente indossano il “sacco votivo” . Il fercolo è seguito da undici “ Cannalori” alte colonne di legno che rappresentano le corporazioni delle arti e dei mestieri della città. Nei giorni di festa la tradizionale Fiera di sant'Agata.

Response from the owner We were really amazed by the contents and the general tone of this review.This because, for many years, except in one case, our holiday home was always praised by our guests. We love to take care of them, and we usually do everything to make them feel at ease and let them spend a pleasant holiday. For this reason, we appreciate any reports that enable us to further improve the hospitality. However, we think this review is full of inaccuracies and written for the only purpose of discredit our structure. First of all when guests have asked us to have the heaters turned on, they were immediatly satisfied. If, as they actually said, they had not tampered with the boiler touching a dial where there was clearly written they would not touch, they would have had active heating, and of course hot water available 24 hours a day. We wonder for what strange reason guests did not report to us the malfunctions as they had been told clearly that if they were not yet satisfied of the temperature they could easily notify us, given that we live into the next house. And what is more, the second day of their stay they told us that everything was good. In fact, only after their leaving we found that the boiler had gone in stall. As for the swimming pool, our holiday home is located in the Sicilian countryside, for this reason you can find a few bugs in the pool although it is cleaned every day. The presence of snakes in the grass there has never been reported. But finding us in the country we can not exclude that customers have spotted a small harmless grass snake (very rare, and really harmless). We fly over on the "old benches", and specify that it is a rustic country house and all the fornitures of the house are visible in the photos on the website that customers use to make the reservation. Taking everything into account, we are still sorry if customers are not happy and that there has been some misunderstanding.
