“Great space & views for an economical price”
We chose this cabin based on the price, location and reviews. We've stayed in Leadville before, but other cabins we had stayed at in the past have exploded in price. This cabin seemed to offer decent space, views for a good price. The cabin is about 3-5 miles off the main road. To get to the cabin you have to go through 2 gates which you need to manually open and then close. My husband found this to be a pain, I didn't think it was too bad since it was summer. The cabin itself is spacious. On the main floor there's the main bedroom, a bathroom, kitchen and a small dining area and living room. The loft area on the 2nd floor there are 5 twin sized beds. There's no door leading up to the loft area - just a curtain, so noise is somewhat of a factor if you have kids that need to go to bed before adults. There is a tv, but no tv reception. There's a DVD player and VHS player - so if you want some form of visual entertainment remember to bring some DVDs. We were able to find a Redbox in Buena Vista. We had zero cell reception out at the cabin also - I have AT&T and my husband has Verizon. There is a landline phone in the cabin for emergencies though. The cabin isn't very updated at all - wood paneling on the walls, older linoleum. There is some updated tile in the kitchen area. That didn't bother us at all, but if you're looking for something modern this isn't it. The views were fabulous. There were hummingbirds constantly on the front deck area. I'd definitely recommend this to someone looking for a more secluded cabin with a good amount of room for the money.
“A wonderful place to relax”
We had a wonderful stay in the cabin. It has the most beautiful views over the mountains.
“A peaceful vacation retreat.”
A well-stocked cabin in a somewhat remote location provided our family of four adults a fine vacation from urban traffic, noise, and distractions. It's well situated for hiking but also for taking in Leadville's history, Victorian houses, restaurants, shopping. The upstairs room has a low ceiling, perhaps more suitable for children than adults. But the downstairs is spacious and comfortable. The wildflowers are spectacular. A lovely aspen grove is right outside the door. A grill and well-supplied kitchen made cooking easy.
“A lovely mountain get-away”
This was our visit to the Leadville area, and the cabin was perfect - very clean and comfortable. The owners were very pleasant and receptive to any questions we had. The location provides beautiful views of the mountains. We had a wonderful day at Turquoise Lake and spend an afternoon hiking in the woods above the cabin. We wish we could have stayed longer!
