“Tropical Home Away From Home”

Reviewed 17 Aug 2014

I've been vacationing here for years with my now grown boys. We enjoy surfing, beach time, hiking, waterfall repelling, tree climbing, fishing, ping pong, badminton, photography, painting, yoga and just chilling out. We have developed friendships with the locals and always look forward to our return trips. It truly is a home away from home for us, with many cherished memories. Going off the grid is a unique experience. Internet access is available, but you don't have to use it if you want to escape from cyber world and enjoy what this magical place has to offer. The wildlife high above in the trees will never cease to fascinate me. The pounding surf is a soothing backdrop to fall asleep to at night. And yoga on outdoor decks in the middle of it all is a gift only you can give yourself. Enjoy this special place and reunite with yourself, your family and friends.

“Sueno Verde indeed”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2014

My family and I were fortunate to spend some time in Matapalo, Costa Rica. The property where we stayed was appropriately named " Sueno Verde" The main house is lovely. It allows the sights and sounds of the surf and the jungle to surround you. Comfortable furnishings along with a spacious kitchen and great room are perfect for relaxing or creating. 2 on site cabins allow for added guests with private quarters. Wildlife abounds on the property and surrounding jungle. Opportunities to hike, mountain bike, and explore nature are right outside the door. The surfing is spectacular with challenges for beginners through experts. We enjoyed swimming in nearby bays and in pools under cascading waterfalls. Several evenings we enjoyed ocean side campfires. If you are looking to get off the grid, to enjoy the natural beauty of ocean and jungle, and to have a unique space to call home, THIS IS THE PLACE! I am sure that Andy and Teri will make local connections for you, to assure you experience the best of Sueno Verde. Greg Arfsten MD Littleton, CO gregarfsten@comcast.net

“Rustic Perfection!”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2014

I had been down to this area a few times before and met the owners, Andy and Teri, who were very nice. On this trip I brought my wife, my son and two of his friends. What a spot and what great hosts. Considering they are off the grid, there is still a great full kitchen, hot water, and enough light and power to see and run the computer. Even has wi-fi! Directly facing a world class surf break, with the giant Osa peninsula nature preserve behind, this is a primo spot for those who can deal with tropical weather and a few bugs (we were there at the end of the wet season- other times the bugs are less.) They have fans (and mosquito nets) over the beds that work just fine for me. Surfing, swimming, hiking, lots of yoga classes available. This is an active person's dream getaway! There's a few restaurants nearby, and the market (which has almost everything you could want) is only about 35 minutes drive. Highly recommended!!

“Adventurous, yet comfortable property in best community in Costa Rica”

Reviewed 16 Jun 2014

I spent close to a month here with my husband and son (both surfers) and we LOVED Sueno Verde and Cabo Matapalo! The property is nice sized and right next to a prime surf spot on Matapalo beach. I loved the shaded area under the trees where I could relax (hammock, table or beach chair) and watch the boys surf, monkeys put on shows in the trees, and see macaws close up every day. There are also lots of yoga options nearby which I enjoyed. The house, covered but open air, keeps you protected from the elements and offers all the comforts of home....large kitchen, two bathrooms with hot water, comfy living area, huge dining table. We had a couple of sets of friends come to visit and stay in the nice 2-bedroom cabin on the property...we had the big meals in the house and had plenty of room. Though it would have been a great opportunity to step back from our electronics, we did enjoy the wi-fi! Sooo much can be said about this area...many will say it's one of the last unspoiled areas of Costa Rica. The community is extremely friendly, the environment, pristine, the beach, beautiful, the vibe, very laid back. Many thanks to Andy and Terry for giving us this unique and unforgettable get-away! Note, this is not the place to go if you're looking for a resort-style property with fancy drinks on a lounge chair next to a white sandy beach, it's so much more

“Jungle beauty and comfort to boot”

Reviewed 14 Jun 2014

Having never traveled to CR before, I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of how amazing the vistas, wildlife, flora could be! Everyday was a new adventure - imagine the Pacific Ocean at your front door and the verdant unbridled jungle in the rear ... gorgeous! The home was very comfortable and accommodating - not the Ritz, but that was perfect to me! When it got dark, I went to bed and slept to the sounds of nature surrounding me - not traffic and lawn mowers. Heavenly! The shower is unique and open - spacious and something you will tell friends about! I played badminton in the yard with neighbors and friends of the owners - all is congenial and relaxing! Highly recommended!

“Amazing!”

Our stay here was our family's all time favorite vacation! The location is perfect for relaxation, family bonding, jungle adventure, fishing and surfing. It feels like you are at the end of the earth, yet the house provides you with all the comforts you need. Every detail has been considered, from the beautiful tropical decor to comfortable beds and all the amenities any family needs! We will return again and again and again!
