“Many issues with this place and they tried to blame us”

How you treat your guests is a true mark of a great person. We left a review on another site...a very honest review that glowed about the positives but didnt hold back on some of our negative experiences. Most of the negativity stemmed from the rotting bathroom fixtures that broke when we were there. Despite the fact that we are calm and quiet responsible people the owner basically tried to blame us for the fixtures breaking by saying " we had a difficult time understanding how one set of fellows were able to break BOTH shower fixtures and pipes in three days - over a holiday weekend, no less!" Well their maintenance guy showed us why they broke...they were completely rusted clear through the metal. Gary the maintenance guy explained that these owners failed to upgrade their condo when everyone else did. The owners are not part of the rental pool so you need to contact them directly to have issues fixed, even if they are not on the island. The condo manager was definitely unkind to us despite these owners saying "As to problems with management....we simply don't have any!" I can tell you she treated us with annoyance because she was made to deal with water leaking all over our condo yet it isn't part of her responsibility. All of these issues happened on our second visit to this condo...the first visit went fine.

Response from the owner Well, Fellas, you remain the only negative review we have ever received, and for good reason. Rather than placing "blame" we really only questioned the unlikelihood of such damage occurring randomly twice within three days, and both you guys and we we both right. It took many months for Gary to admit he had caused both water failures by pushing too much water pressure through our system right outside our condo in testing the water system.... And yes, that severe pressure did cause two breakages in three days on pipes not designed to withstand the severe pressure applied. So maybe its time for you to recall just how good a time and just how hospitable we were to both you and your guests during that first visit that gave you the confidence that you would not only be welcomed back but that you would enjoy our hospitality a second time. And did we not somehow provide sufficient assistance to you even from a distance that you were not only able to complete your stay, but to have extra time with us without any added cost when your flights out were cancelled? Give us a break and let both Trip Advisor and the other review know just how hard we really tried to make your trip more pleasant, as you know as well as we do that this review has hurt us unnecessarily and unfairly. Don't you think your oversensitivity to other issues that are totally unrelated to the quality of our vacation property - and to which we are in complete agreement with you regarding - has no place in an unbiased review forum? And don't you wish you could even see our new HoneyMoon Haven property as an even better offering than TurtleFish?
