Description

A spacious detached villa built on the site of an historic mill in a private, tranquil location right by the river Tech yet close to the region's many attractions. With tiled floors, open beams and freshly-decorated throughout, the villa offers spacious accommodation for up to 10 people. The kitchen is well-equipped, by someone who really cooks. When you see the local ingredients around here, you may just feel the need to create a feast of your own.

There are 5 bedrooms each with their own bathroom. All the bedrooms have comfortable beds, with newly ironed white sheets and plump feather pillows, The stylish bathrooms have power showers, and large fluffy bath sheets. All of the rooms are newly decorated and furnished to a high standard.

The house has views of the mountains on both sides and land that leads to the river with its own sandy beach. It has a private entrance and driveway and a very large garden completely enclosed. The large, secluded heated sunny pool is a particular highlight.

The beautiful town of Ceret with its artistic heritage and spectacular Saturday market is just 5 minutes away. There are cafes on every corner, restaurants in every square there is frequently music and dancing in the streets. Local walks, at whatever your level of effort, offer wonderful views across the valley to the Mediterranean , up to the Canigou, or back to Ceret itself. The house is within walking distance of a shop and restaurant.

We had a wonderful stay in this family-friendly home. We enjoyed the pool, great access to the river in very peaceful, green surroundings. Stephen, the owner, had arranged for flowers, and a much appreciated 'casse -croute' consisting of a baguette, cheese and wine to be made at our disposal when we arrived. Un grand merci! The team looking after the house were friendly and helpful Great location to explore Ceret, Collioure and the Pic du Canigou in the Pyrenees.

A great place for a holiday with fantastic links to everywhere. Easy access to the South of France, Northern Spain and Andorra if you can face the drive. A lovely villa with something for everyone - a great pool and wonderful access to a fantastic river. We took 3 generations and there was loads of space for all to do their own thing, relax and have fun.

We had a lovely, relaxing holiday - thoroughly enjoyable. The description on the website was accurate and informative. Booking was straightforward, and the information sent was comprehensive, covering all we needed to know. The property itself was as described, with every detail covered, well equipped, spacious, clean and comfortable, with a friendly welcome on arrival. The pool is a delight, well tended and warm! There is plenty of space surrounding it, with ample outside furniture. The pretty gardens are well cared for with space for outdoor games for the energetic. There are various different places to sit and to eat, depending on the time of day, which we loved. A balcony overlooks the valley at tree top height, a perfect place for breakfast, listening to the gentle sound of the river below, and for bird / red squirrel watching. The position is quiet, yet very convenient for the town of Ceret which is delightful and bustling. The surrounding area has plenty of interest to offer, with some beautiful scenery.
