“Pure relaxation and beauty”

Reviewed 20 Apr 2015

Where should I start? Maybe a little about myself. I travel for my job, so sometimes I think I'm a little jaded when it comes to traveling. You know, you've seen one beautiful beach, just chalk it up with the rest of them. Well, not so much here in Costa Rica. In all my years of traveling and taking vacation, this one hands down, was in the top 3 of the best vacations I've ever had. (And I've been many places) The condo is absolutely gorgeous. Fully functional, clean and the staff there was so nice and super helpful. I especially loved the deck which is where we ate breakfast often. The owners of the condo, one of which I've had the pleasure of knowing since Jr. High, gave us many tips on where to go, what to expect etc. I cannot thank them enough. Great people. Now, about the beaches and the FOOD. Playa Langosta which is a maybe 5-10 min walk depending on where you want to sit is a tranquil oasis. Not crowded at all, everyone brings their dogs and the water was clear and refreshing. Always a bonus when you can see your toes. The restaurants there are delicious, especially if you like seafood. Fresh and most likely caught that day. The people of Costa Rica are very friendly, not one time did I feel unsafe. Tamarindo is a little more lively with all kinds of restaurants and shops. I could sit there all day and watch the waves and people. Cab rides are on the average $5-$6 to Tamarindo. The prices there are very reasonable. No different than going to a Red Lobster in the states really. Bottom line is if you do not come here, rent this condo than you are really missing out. One if the most beautiful hidden gems of the earth. Come here and experience the Pura Vida lifestyle!

“Great View in Beautiful Langosta”

Reviewed 16 Mar 2015

This secure, gated condo in Langosta, a short walk to the beach, is perfect for relaxing in after a day at the beach, hanging out in Tamarindo, or an adventure in the car. The two decks are wonderful for morning tea or sunset cocktails. I only cooked one meal, but the kitchen is fully operational and could feed a crowd. Loved the jetted tub in the master bedroom, the double sinks in the master bath, and the walk-in closet. The washer-dryer ensured that we didn't need to do laundry when we returned home. Bars, restaurants, beaches, yoga, spas, and grocery stores are within a short walk, but we drove into Tamarindo most trips. The pool area seems especially good for children (easy to keep an eye on them). Probably best to brush up on some Spanish--while there are plenty of English speakers, there was a language barrier, for sure. Can't wait to return to Costa Rica!

“Great Condo!”

We have been to CR many times but this condo was one of my favorites! It is beautifully decorated - very tasteful but still has a wonderful tropical feel. Love the views from the balcony that by the way was very spacious. The master bedroom comes complete with a very large jacuzzi! Lovely addition to the condo. Enjoyed being so close to the beaches in Langosta - great snorkeling and sunbathing! The pool area is very large with many water levels - loved it! The staff were very helpful and gracious - even helping us get a taxi from time to time. Walking distance from a good number of restaurants too. We did enjoy being so close to Tamarindo as well - a nice walk or a short cab ride. Would definitely come back to stay here any time I could!! Thanks for a super trip!

“Beautiful Condo!!”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2014

Our family stayed in this beautiful condo last month. This was our first time in Costa Rica, so we wanted a place that would be family friendly and peaceful though still close enough to town allowing for some excitement. We were nervous of course as this was our first trip out of the US. When we saw the condo and the surrounding areas, we knew that we had made the perfect choice! The bedrooms are spacious, especially the master suite with whirlpool tub, and the furnishings are elegant, yet comfortable. There were just three of us, but there's a sofa bed, so a family of 4-5 would be fine. The balconies are huge! The main balcony has a dining table with six chairs --- plus another chair and loveseat. It also overlooks the pool (we swam in it every day!). The other balcony has a love seat, two chairs, and tables. The balconies were great for viewing wildlife (we saw monkeys and parrots in nearby trees) or just relaxing with some cold drinks (we used the blender a lot!). In addition to the wildlife, the views of the ocean and sunset each evening were almost majestic. You just could not ask for a better location. What made the condo so enjoyable and comfortable were the amenities it came with such as; towels, hair dryer, pots, pans, glasses, dishes, silverware, toaster, and the blender (did we mention that we used it a lot?). It's a short walk to the beach, but we still drove to town with our gear and boogie boards. Tip: freeze bottles of water ahead of time, so the water stays cold all day. Tamarindo is charming and fun, and Costa Rica is magnificent. We can't wait to return and when we do, this will be the place we will stay!

“Beautiful, New, Comfortable --- Perfect Place To Stay”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2014

My wife and I enjoyed staying at Casa Puesta del Sol ("sunset house").. This condo was recently renovated, so everything is brand new (furnishings custom built & professionally decorated). The bedrooms have king and queen beds, and the sleeper sofa would probably be good for kids (or a third couple). The kitchen is equipped with S/S appliances (inc. washer/dryer combo and dishwasher) and everything we needed for our stay: blender, toaster, dishes, glasses, silverware, etc. The condo is on the 5th floor and offers some amazing views. The master bedroom opens to a huge balcony with hilltop / sunrise views during the day and a fantastic breeze at night. The living area is good-sized with a sofa/chair combo, flat-screen TV (we never turned it on!), and a wall of windows with unobstructed ocean views. We enjoyed the sunset views from our balcony as much as being on the beach (sunsets are amazing in Costa Rica!), and we ate breakfast there each morning. Langosta Beach is very close and perfect for morning walks, tide pools, and sunsets. Tamarindo Beach is also close (5-10 minute walk; path next to Capitan Suizo). We’d walk along the beaches in the morning (look for monkeys!), grab lunch and drinks in Tamarindo, and return for sunset. This condo had a perfect sunset view, so we understand why it was named Casa Puesta del Sol. We had a car, but only needed it to drive to other (quieter) beaches: Grande, Conchal, and Flamingo. Also, it’s only $5 for a taxi to/from town. We loved Tamarindo’s restaurants and shops, but it was nice to return to our condo in the evenings. We had the entire pool nearly to ourselves, but didn’t use the BBQ grill. The place is gated (24-hour security), so we always felt safe, and parking is close to the main elevator. We look forward to staying here again and highly recommend it to families, couples, or anyone looking for the perfect place to get away. Pura Vida!
