“An Oasis of Peace and Tranquility”

Reviewed 23 Jun 2017

Intuition told me to come to La Casita for a solo retreat after an intensive conference presentation in Orlando. And Oh I am so grateful for my stay. Hosts Gabriel and Judy are just the best. Every comfort and pleasure is anticipated and supplied. The location is perfect. It’s within a gated community of often opulent houses supremo. Who needs them however when La Casita offers perfect luxury in a private family home setting! I adored my spacious upstairs studio with such lovely features – the big soft bed, the kitchenette with coffee maker, the big cake of pampering soap, the complimentary bottle of Italian wine and beers and soft drinks. The bathroom is special with gorgeous colours and tones and two amazing glass basins. But most wonderful of features is the private balcony which is amazing for sunset bliss and star-gazing at night. I just loved it. Also there is insect repellent under the sink in the downstairs so it’s a MUST is to use it before the beach and do your sunbaking at the pool and not sit on the sand. I got badly bitten on my right arm from just walking in the sea and a week later I still have nasty red scratchy bites! The pool is a wonderful plus for just relaxing. The walk to the beach is so easy and it is so beautiful to emerge from the laneway onto the white sands and plunge into the turquoise waters. Time of the tide is important for swimming however, as the water gets murky and even a bit rough on high tide. It is a good idea to search google for low tide times and go then. The beach is really quiet except for the weekends. In fact I was often the only one there in the early morning! I loved walking along the hard sand at low tide and you can just go forever! I was given a what to do and see and where to eat tip-sheet which was a terrific plus. I loved Mango Reef at Turtle Cove and went there twice for lunch. I went to two different resorts to see what they were like for menu and atmosphere and was so happy to leave and come home to my own oasis at La Casita. No noise and no pushy people! I will remember this trip with much fondness and highly recommend staying at La Casita if you want luxury with peace and quiet.

“Loved evey minute”

We spent 11 wonderful days in the upper unit , and loved every minute of it . The owners were very friendly , but not imposing . The landscaping, pool area was lovely . Short walk to a deserted beach .Four minute drive to Cafe Market at Blue Haven for breakfast with the friendliest staff and best prices on island . This was our fourth trip to Provo , and cannot say enough accolades about the island . In general, hotels are terribly overpriced .La Casita is very reasonably priced , but at the same time is very high quality . Car is a must, as is the case most anywhere in Provo if you are to experience it at its best . There is a lower unit available that seemed very sufficient if you are traveling with friends and need additional space, or are on a lesser budget.

“Great Place!”

Reviewed 29 Apr 2014

My husband and I stayed here for 8 nights in april. The place was perfect. Small kitchenette area in the room with BBQ and electric burners to use in the downstairs sitting area. We cooked in a few times and it worked out well. Room is gorgeous and very comfortable. View from balcony was lovely. Location of house was off the beaten path which is what we were looking for. Judy and Gabriel invited us to their home for a rum punch and suggestions on what to do/where to eat. They had great suggestions (which we followed) and one rum punch turned into another and some beers. Fun, fun people. The dogs are sweethearts and would chill out with us when we were there (we miss them). We took advantage of the beach chairs, umbrella, and cooler. Laundry facilities on site was a very nice amenity. Landscaping and wooden walkway are beautiful. The beach just a few minutes away is very pretty and quiet. I felt very safe in this location. We never locked the room nor the car when it was parked in the driveway. Blue Haven Resort is a quick drive away for groceries/lunch at the Market and Salt Bar & Grill was a great place for lunch/drinks. The house is minutes from Grace Bay and Turtle Cove. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Judy & Gabriel!!

“Just what we needed”

Reviewed 10 Apr 2014

My wife and I stayed here for 5 days in March and had a wonderful time. Judy and Gabriel rent a room above their house and had everything that we were wanting. Check in: Was very simple we drove up and were met with the keys and showed the room to get settled. That night Judy and Gabriel invited us for drinks to answer any questions that we had and to give us some ideas for exploring the island and for meals. It was very helpful and allowed us to plan our week. Room: It was clean and came with a small fridge and microwave for us to use when needed. Flatware, cups and silverware was also provided. My wife and I would spend the mornings on the balcony looking out over the garden to the ocean in the distance and enjoyed the constant breeze. A/C was great to have also if needed at night. They also provided beach chairs, umbrella and cooler that were also very useful. Location: The house is on the eastern portion of the island and would suggest renting a car for your stay. You can walk very easily to the beach just behind the house but the car is nice to take advantage of seeing the entire island and some great restaurants also. We would spend most of our days at the nearly empty beautiful beach that is a short walk from the house or relaxing by the pool at the house. Overall: If you are looking for a great room, short walk to the beach, your own personal pool with the hospitality of locals this is the place. Hard to beat the price also. Not for you if you want all the resort amenities, room service , etc. We loved it and allowed us to get away in what felt like our own secluded house, enjoy a nearly empty beach and explore the other great beaches and restaurants around the island. We would definitely go back and stay here again.
