Very Good

“Central and comfortable”

Reviewed 12 Apr 2015

We stayed in the Palm Terrace as a one bedroom (second bedroom closed off). It was unseasonably chilly and wet for the first few days but Neville made us comfortable with portable radiators and a heat pump in the bedroom. As the weather improved, we enjoyed the terrace and gardens and even got in the pool twice. We enjoyed being in this neighbourhood... it was very quiet, away from the main road and the over built condos and hotels along the shore, but close enough to have a sea view and was an easy, quick walk to the ocean to walk along the beach. Two good supermarkets very close by, and don't miss the market in Estepona for fresh fruit, vegetables, leather goods and ceramics at great non-tourist prices. Central location for drives into the hills to visit interesting white villages, to the Atlantic coast with the beautiful Bolonia Beach and Roman ruins, and up the coast to cities like Jerez. Neville and Lynne were very helpful and accommodating, and responded promptly to all requests. Charlie the dog is a sweetie... he would come for several visits each day and stay at the open door wagging his tail and waiting for a pat, but never venturing in without an invitation. We also had a chance to view the Pool apartment which had a bigger (open concept) kitchen, which was also lovely. The kitchen is the Palm Terrace is small but very well equipped and along with the BBQ, was sufficient for our needs. Great spot, good value.

“Excellent Stay”

Reviewed 9 Mar 2015

We felt very well and relaxed in this properly furnished apt. On account of the warm, sunny weather, we could already use balcony and terrace in February and March and enjoyed the blooming plants of the garden. Neville & Lynn, the owners of the apt, are very sympathetic and helpful. They give good information on excursions and have elaborated manuals to cover tourists` information demands. The good atmosphere of the Villa tranquilla would have been incompletely characterized without mentioning dog Charly, the well-tempered and faithful keeper of Villa tranquilla.

“Lovely apartment, with beautiful views of a typically spanish sea side town”

Reviewed 17 Aug 2014

My husband, daughter 17 and son 14 and I visited Palm Terrace in August 2014. Palm Terrace is a spacious, superbly appointed apartment as part of Villa Tranquilla. There are three other apartments, one of which is inhabited by owners Neville and Lynn. The apartment offers all modern conveniences for making a holiday easy and stress free, such as dish washer, air-con and powerful showers and is very comfortable. There is a private area of outdoor living space with gas barbecue and seating. The outdoor swimming pool is always open and is perfect for sun bathing or swimming. The views of Estepona and the sea are breathtaking, and there are several areas of seating around the pool and in the large garden. Neville and Lynne are extremely helpful without seeming intrusive. Neville's tips on visiting nearby places are always helpful and up to date and help to make the holiday truly memorable. His recommendation of a home from home restaurant in Old Estepona, serving paella to the locals was a favourite experience of ours, and the paella was wonderful! The town and beaches of Estepona are a few minutes drive away. Parking in Estepona is easy to find, plentiful and reasonably priced. The town retains a Spanish feel and was not as busy as its neighbours in high season during our stay. It offers a high variety of good restaurants, bars and ice-cream shops, as well as two weekly markets well worth a visit. The beaches are endless although quite busy when we were there. The old town has recently been regenerated and is very pretty. Check out Lola's Tapas Bar on the sea front for great food and creamy smoothies for a very reasonable price. We visited Ronda one day, about a 90 minute drive away. This was well worth the trip: the bull ring and museum were interesting to us all, and a 30 minute horse and carriage ride for the four of us around the town, for only 25 euros. We also drove into the mountains on two days and ate in the local villages, at local restaurants called ventas which were a bit hit and miss but still very worth doing. On our last evening we drove to neighbouring Puerta Banus and Marbella both of which were heaving with tourists and only emphasised to us what a gem Estepona was! For a taste of real Spain, near the sea, we would not hesitate to recommend this holiday apartment.

“Excellent Villa - highly recommended”

We could not have asked for anything more. The accommodation was home from home, with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. The apartment was very roomy inside and ideal for our family of 4. Neville and Lynn were very helpful and thoughtful, especially with the supply of milk, tea, sugar etc for when we arrived. The useful information of things to do came in really handy. The table tennis and use of games were a definite win with the children. Overall a brilliant place to stay with helpful and friendly owners. Thank you for a lovely holiday and I'm sure we will see you again. Congratulations once again on the birth of your grandson.

Neville & Lynne were excellent & charming hosts. Couldn't ask for anything more. The Palm Terrace apartment is roomy & cozy at the same time. Clean, clean, clean, the apartment & laundry/garage area. The garden is beautiful & well maintained. We appreciated the welcome package of coffee, juice, milk, wine & more, as well as the laundry & dishwashing detergents. Mercadona, a well stocked supermarket, is within walking distance. Villa Tranquilla is within 1to 2 hours drive to andalucian cities, such as Seville, Granada, Ronda, Malaga, etc. We drove everywhere to these places during our stay. (Neville could arrange a car rental for you at an excellent rate, if needed.) The city of Estepona still possess the old/traditional Spanish flavor. Spanish is predominantly spoken here. The city has beautiful murals, clean streets & has ample parking. Excellent restaurants at the port.

“a good holiday despite the cold spring”

Reviewed 10 Apr 2013

We had a good stay, while hiking trough the remote area's only 1/2 an hr away from the nice villa. The appartment was nice and clean, and had all you need, including items like a toaster, an oven, a BBQ, etc., and a nice and quit garden, well maintained too. Visit the old Estepona if you plan to stay here, and drink a cafe solo or a nice wine on the plaze del flores.

“Perfect for a relaxing holiday”

Reviewed 29 Jan 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, very tranquil indeed.Situated in a well kept residential area away from the rest of the holiday makers.Only a short drive, or taxi,or Neville to the port and town center. There is a beach within walking distance ( as long as you are not carrying too much). Estapona is a beautiful town with much of it unspoilt. It has a wide variety of restaurants many of which are very reasonable (tapas)and tasty. we were a little unfortunate with the weather when we went but Neville provided us with some Dvds to watch on wet days, also there is a TV,radio and Cd player. It doesn't normally rain that much, so tell Neville what your interests are,and he will give you options on how to spend your day. Don't be afraid to ask, because i'm sure he realy enjoys chatting and being helpful. If we return to Estapona, we will certainly think about staying here again. Cheers Neville, give our love to Charlie.x

“Wonderful place!!!”

--- We had a great stay at Villa Tranquilla!!! The apartment and garden are wonderful and you get great suggestions and advices for the area from Neville and Lynne. They are really nice people. We enjoyed our stay there so much. You have everything you need there, even towels for the pool, washing powder and dishwashing liquid. Estepona is a really nice place and the beach is also great for smaller kids. We had a wonderful stay and can really recommend it! Our son Jonas (5) just loved the pool! It is a very quiet place to relax and you have so many great places to go.

“The place you must be for unforgettabble holidays”

Reviewed 2 Sep 2012

Dear Lynne and Neville, What more could we say about our stay in Villa Tranquila ? We spent already 3 years coming to your place, and we are so well there than before leaving we rented for summer 2013. We found our appartement as clean as always, nothing was missing, and everything is top. We really appreciate being there, because the comfort is extra, the services are luxuous. The villa is nearby all important and interesting places to visit and to go, which is really great for us. The great thing is also that as soon we see something going wrong in the appartement, you come straight to repear. We do appreciate because like that we go on without being annoyed by material problems. Another great thing is to meet people. During these 3 years we really appreciated all relations we got with the others families being there. All that wouldn't be posible if you, Lynne and Neville, were not so kind and open to people. We can feel you want us to rest for holiday, not to thing but for fun. Thanks a lot for your kindness, your disponibility, ans see you again in 2013 at "home" with Charly.
