“Great Location, nice property, ridiculously small bathroom”

Reviewed 15 Apr 2014

Cheryl was very accessible and a pleasure to deal with, as were the rental agents on the property. The property itself is a waterfront retro hotel. The bldgs and grounds are well kept and the pool is clean and nice, located right on the water. The hotel is centrally located but in a fairly quiet area with an upscale condo property across the street. The quiet remained outside though. Inside the other residents were slamming the main entry door at all hrs of the night.Spring breakers I believe. I'm a heavy sleeper and it woke me every time. Its 1 blk from the beach & within walking distance of beach bars,a bistro with great breakfasts, mimosas and a bloody mary bar, the beachcomber the sand pearl, and shops. We were in Clearwater for spring training and are very familiar with the area. We usually stay at the sheraton sand key but wanted to be able to walk everywhere, try something new & save some money. Our unit was a studio. It was dated but clean, small but doable. It had a murphy bed and futon,a kitchen area and a small table. The issue was with the ridiculously small bathroom. Another reviewer mentioned it, but I thought,"How bad can it be?" The answer is really bad. A disabled or overweight person would not even be able to get into the area where the toilet is. You have to turn sideways to get between the shower stall and the sink to get to the toilet.I am a seasoned traveler and have stayed in ultimate luxury and tents.I didn't expect luxury, but I expected to be able to use the bathroom normally. There wasn't even enough room to really dry yourself off in there after a shower. It sounds overstated, but it almost ruined the whole stay. The price is cheap for the location, property and time of year...but there's a reason.

Response from the owner Thank you, Holly! It's unfortunate that the actions of a few inconsiderate guests interrupted your sleep. The Resort requires all renters to be at least 25 years of age. It's highly unlikely the noise makers were Spring Breakers, they were probably just inconsiderate guests. A quick conversation with the on-sight property manager would have rectified the situation. Yes, the bathroom is small. Keep in mind this is a studio (one room with a kitchen and private bathroom) on the second floor of a walk up building. It is not an ADA accessible unit. While the bathroom is small, there is still plenty of room to dry off after a shower.
