Description

My gîte is situated in the medieval village of Valon, located on the edge of the Carladez, North Aveyron, (Midi-Pyrénées).

The gîte is tucked away at the end of the village, providing comfortable accommodation for 4 people.

Set in over 50 acres of unspoilt forest, an extensive terrace garden and 100m2 of living space there is plenty of free space to enjoy.

Recently renovated the gite has lots of rustic charm with the addition of 21st Century mod cons. On the ground floor the master bedroom is very comfortable with it's own en-suite shower room with wc and basin, the second bedroom has two twin beds with ensuite bathroom and the well appointed kitchen provides everything you need to create an authentic french meal. Downstairs the spacious lounge is full of character, it leads out on to a terrace with bbq and from there you are free to explore the garden.

A 12th Century Château sits in the centre of the village which is surrounded by sweet chestnut forest. The River Truyère lies below the village, creating dramatic gorges on it`s way down to join the River Lot at Entraygues-sur-Truyère 21 km away.

Our location allows a very relaxing holiday, enjoy the peace and calm of this unspoilt countryside. Those who wish to explore further we are close to many activities, excellent restaurants and other picturesque towns and villages.

We recently opened a contemporary gallery in Valon and create new pieces for sale in the workshop below it.

“Simply lovely and completely surprisingly beautiful.”

Chateau Vallon is a hidden gem. A part of France we have not discovered. Full of gorges, beautiful and ancient towns and a truly hidden and secret part of France.
