10 The Strand is a 200 year old listed fisherman’s cottage, situated on the sea front with spectacular, uninterrupted views across St. Mary’s harbour to the lovely neighbouring islands of Samson, Bryher and Tresco.

The cottage is on the edge of Hugh Town, close to several white, sandy beaches and less than five minutes walk from the shops and quay.

The accommodation which sleeps six, comprises three bedrooms, sitting room, dining room, kitchen and ground floor bathroom with bath and shower cubicle and separate w.c.

The front bedroom faces the sea and has a super-king ziplink bed which can be converted into two single beds on request. The back bedroom, ideally for children, due to required access to the third bedroom, overlooks the garden. A staircase from this room leads to the third bedroom with King size bed and en-suite shower, w.c. and wash-basin, an ideal family unit.

Facilities include; satellite-television (with Freeview), Wi-Fi* DVD, radio and CD. Washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher and deep-freeze. All rooms are fitted with electric radiators. A high-chair and cot are available for rent on request. There is an enclosed courtyard garden at the rear of the cottage.

We welcome pets, as it is a Fisherman's cottage it is not ideally suited for large dogs but medium to small dogs (two max.) should find the space comfortable. Please be aware that there will be an additional £30 fee to cover cleaning costs, this will be requested at the time of booking.

Getting around

The Island has only six miles of road, so, for the most part, visitors prefer to walk. There is bicycle hire available, as well as Golf buggies for the days that it all seems a little too far. The cottage is also well located for the quay, which can be seen from the window, this is where all of the off-Island pleasure boats leave from and return to daily, making the cottage ideal for getting around.

Interaction with guest

We don't live on the Island, but Tim and Nicky and their team are always on hand if you should need anything. Tim usually pops in during your stay just to say hello and make sure that all your needs are catered for. Contact details, should you need anything are in the cottage.

House rules

Pets are welcome from October to April but we insist that they are kept off furniture and beds. We will request a cleaning fee upon booking.

Really lovely cottage, very well equipped, comfortable, warm, clean and very cheerful to be in. Situated right opposite Town Beach, this has excellent views too and is also only a short walk from vital amenities like the co-op and the pubs in Hugh Town. It had everything we needed and more. I can highly recommend No 10 for a lovely stay on Scilly, whether it's for work or pleasure!

Situated overlooking the bay and five minutes walk from the centre of Hugh Town. The cottage is thoughtfully stocked, including books and bath toys for the children. It has all mod cons despite keeping its fisherman's cottagy feel; mind your head!
