“Great Location, Spacious and Highly Secure”
We stayed 4 nights in Bologna and OLYMPIA was a great home-away-from-home. This loft apartment was spacious, tastefully decorated and the 1.5 bathroom was a plus! My husband and I stay on the loft with our own bath; my 14-year-old son stay on the pullout couch below the loft and he had his own 0.5 WC. The clothe washer worked well, and the high spin cycle took away most of the moisture. There is no clothe dryer so we just hung items on hangers and lined them up on the loft railing. There is no storage on the loft but plenty of closet space on the main level. The owner Paola had a large bowl of fruits and two bottles of chilled beverage already prepared upon our arrival. Very thoughtful. Kitty (property manager?) met us at the front of the bldg when our taxi arrived, then we went through 3 locked doors before we even arrived at the loft unit. The location is superb, close to everything and we tour the city on foot everyday. It's a beautiful and secure building with an old fashion elevator. We enjoyed our stay and I highly recommend this unit.
“Lovely place in the heart of the city - well organised”
The appartment is quite spacey and well mended. It is fully equipped and within a 5 min walk of the city centre and other enjoyable ares of Bologna. We had a gret time in a very enjoyable city. Fully recommendable.
“Charming apartment in central location”
My husband and I had a wonderful week exploring Bologna from the Olympia. Central location made it easy to walk to all top sites and stop home for an afternoon nap. Great neighborhood restaurants and cafes nearby. Apartment is light and cheerful and tastefully furnished, with well equipped kitchen and modern 1.5 baths. Although the building has an elevator, there are some stairs to reach the apartment and inside to the loft bedroom. We skipped the elevator and used the stairs to walk off some of our bolognese meals. Our only complaint was the bed, which is harder than what we are used to, but more common for Europe.
“A beautiful place to stay”
Dealing with Paola, to book this beautiful apartment was very easy and she was quick to respond to my many emails. Upon arrival Kitty met us with the keys and we were taken up to a beautiful apartment in one of the nicest areas of the old part of Bologna. The apartment is like a loft so we ( the parents) were upstairs and our two adult children made their beds in the living area downstairs. We loved the way the apartment was so beautifully furnished and Paola kindly left us some tea coffee pasta ornages and other amenities in the kitchen ( great kitchen by the way). Being four of us we really appreciated the second toilet in the apartment as well. We would absolutely book this apartment again. It was comfortable and so well located and there was nothing to fault.
“a perfect apartment in a perfect location!!!”
A lovely, spacious apartment with every accoutrement a traveler might need. The apartment is located in a stylish part of historic Bologna--easier walking distance to shops, terrific restaurants and sites. Sophisticated travelers will love their stay at the Olympia!
“Comfortable, well located apartment in Bologna.”
The apartment is on via Castiglione, about a 5-10 minute walk from Piazza Maggiore. It's a lovely residential street of historic buildings, close to shops and restaurants. The building is quite old, and has been renovated nicely into condos and a few offices. You enter through an ancient door into a small courtyard, then go through a locked gate, up to the second floor (there is a tiny elevator), then through another locked gate to the hallway where the apartment is. You enter the apartment at the back of the living/dining room. On the other side of the room is the galley kitchen, with a half bath beyond that. There are comfortable stairs up to the loft bedroom and the full bath. All furniture was in excellent shape, and the place was clean and ready for us. The air conditioning struggled a bit downstairs (weather was very hot, upper 90's during our week), but worked well in the bedroom area and kept the apartment comfortable. The photos on the website are accurate and represent the apartment well. I found the bed very comfortable, though my husband thought the mattress was on the hard side. The bedroom, as it is in a loft, is partially open to the living space below. The bathrooms were all pleasant and functioned well. There is no closet space upstairs, but plenty at the back of the living room. We didn't have any problem with this arrangement. Very quiet bedroom, all we heard was the cooing of pigeons in the morning The kitchen worked well for us for preparing breakfasts and simple meals on nights we wanted to eat in. Full-size fridge, gas stove (you need to light it manually, not a problem), plenty of pots and utensils. Paola was great to work with, very responsive to questions. Her keyholder is an american ex-pat who will briefly go through the mechanics of keys and stove with you.
“19 Days in July 2013”
Paola was a great host from the word go. Giving us assistance by email. This was a good sign. We were not disappointed. The apartment is in an excellent location. In the very best part of town. Upscale shops around the corner, peaceful with professional people living around the neighborhood. A 5 min walk into the center. The apartment is spacious and well equipped. Would strongly recommend for a stay in Bologna.
This lovely, quiet, well-appointed apartment is the perfect place to stay in Bologna for business or pleasure. The owner has taken pains to make it both comfortable and elegant. My stay was lovely; the apartment was quiet and clean and had everything I needed. The owners even graciously helped me one late night when I had locked myself out. I heartily recommend this apartment, especially for couples. I'll be back next year -- unless someone reading this has snatched it up first.
“Warm and cosy feeling in the central Bologna”
It is so important that in a new place there is a caring person meeting you. We have met many but Paola is a special one. Also the apartment is peaceful and noiseless, still located very central. There is everything you need.
“wonderful month in Bologna”
I highly recommend this apartment. It's super quiet, cozy and comfortable. The location is perfect and the owners very friendly and helpful. There is even a little shop next door open at all hours for simple groceries. And the wonderful sorbetteria Castiglione just down the road.
