“The Best Vacation Ever”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2014

I brought my adult children the New York for a week the early part of December last year. We had arranged to stay in an apartment never having done that before. Not knowing New York too well, I was a little concerned about the neighborhood feeling around the apartment and what there was to do. However, after talking with the host, he assured me there was a real neighborhood feeling. It was true - there was a beautiful park right next door with a great hamburger "joint". Not to mention about two blocks down was Mario Batali's Eataly (what a fabulous place, literally all things Italian!). Abc Carpet and Home, one of my favorites, was within walking distance as were so many fun shops. And the Empire State Building just down the street too. More than all that was the warm, friendly service we received from our host. He made sure our trip was fun and was so accommodating to our needs. He truly has become a friend. I can't recommend this lovely apartment enough. It really was one of our best vacations ever!

“Stay with style and sophistication in Manhattan”

Reviewed 31 Mar 2014

We were so fortunate to experience this beautiful, stylish, contemporary apartment during our stay in NYC last Fall. It is Impeccably furnished and maintained in a lovely building in the heart of Manhattan. The owner obviously has put his heart and enormous talent into his home, and it was a pleasure to meet him. The building with concierge and doorman is close to the subway, buses, great restaurants and all the city has to offer. It is as luxurious as the apartment. We have stayed in Manhattan many times and look forward to a month long stay in this lovely residence next Fall.

“Great apartment, great location, free of the crowds! True city”

Reviewed 30 Mar 2014

We had such a great time! The host was so helpful with all of our arrangements. He arranged to have a birthday cake for our daughter waiting in the apartment upon her arrival. He helped with dinner recommendations and other city must dos. The apartment was great for 4, 2 adults and 2 teens. He had all the conveniences you need- washer/dryer, great kitchen, tv/wifi, comfortable sleeping, big bathroom and closet. The building was beautiful and very secure. And it was in such a great part Of town. We walked everywhere, and there were so many great little restaurants, corner groceries, and shopping. The kids loved having Shake Shack right downstairs in the park, Eataly is so cool- a must For your morning espresso. And what better than when you walk out your front door, to Your right the Empire State Building and to your left the Flatiron Building. Such a great launching Point for a trip to the city. The subway stations were fairly Convenient and a taxi was always there is you wanted. But we walked a lot, and loved it. My favorite part was after leaving the masses of Times Square or museums, this neighborhood was so quiet and homey. We breathed a sigh of relief when we got back to the Flatiron District, it just felt so peaceful in a big crazy city. Can't wait to go back!

“Just perfect!”

Reviewed 22 Oct 2013

We are a couple from Switzerland travelling with our youngest teenage daughter and for the 3 of us this choice was just ideal - as we felt at home from the first day. The apartment is in walking distance from many nice restaurants, coffee shops, delis, shops, banks, the Madison Square Park and other landmarks. The Flatiron district, named after the iconic building, is quite residential and its location ideal for visitors - the heart of midtown Manhattan - bus and subway are located within 200 meters from the building. The luxurious apartment on Fifth avenue is just great -the elegant building from the turn-of-the-century with its vast, luxurious entrance hall - doorman and concierge, both always friendly and helpful - and the extra facilities as gym and dry cleaning service in the basement. The apartment on the eighth floor is really spacious for NY standards, convenient and furnished in the best of taste with a big modern kitchen - however we didn't really use it as we always ate out. The living with its 3 big, classic windows, overlooking the inner courtyard, is bright and ample with a modern sofa, armchair and TV/DVD. The bathroom with double sinks, big shower and great tube was more than perfect. The bedroom was cosy, the king size bed very comfortable and the walk-in closet just ideal to store our entire luggage. There are even a washing machine and tumbler in an extra closet - just in case. The apartment has air-condition, Wlan and is extremely quiet. And last but not least, the owner was very friendly, helpful and gave us lots of tips where to go and what to do and he was answering my preceding mails with patience and within time. We can only recommend this place and hope to go back soon.
